Fantastic experience: Awesome experience at Central Barbers & Stylist. I was able to get in right away, which was a huge plus, and the whole place had a welcoming, professional vibe. SB cut my hair and absolutely nailed it! clean, sharp, and exactly what I was hoping for. You can tell he knows what he’s doing and takes pride in his work. Fast service without feeling rushed. Definitely one of the best haircuts I’ve had and I’ll be coming back for sure.

Negative experience: We have been coming to the shop for a while now my husband, my kids and I really enjoy coming here because we all get our hair done at one place. My husband usually see Mousen for his haircut and I see one of the stylists! But this time there was a dog running all over the shop and my two kids are allergic to dogs hair which made us uncomfortable and we had to leave and go somewhere else, where my kids felt much more safe and comfortable! The guys deserve 5 stars but the dog should be away from clients! But thank you for the great barber and stylist.

Positive experience: Don't review much. But this place seems like everyone knows everybody. But sort of a weird vibe for a walk in, new customer. Value the labour, but the cut wasn't great, barber was polite in the end. Straight razer was a bit rough on my neck. Seems like you need to be in the know. Wait time was longer than disclosed, or not clear. And some barbers take cash, others card, or etransfer. Some barbers take appointments. Better business communication to customers would go a long way.

Fantastic experience: We took our two young sons here today and it was such a great experience for both of them. Our 3 year old is usually scared of the clippers but the barber cutting his hair was patient and kind, while another Barber went out of his way to help distract my son. My husband and I really appreciate it. Our older son has a cowlick that never seems to work in his favor. His hair usually looks like he took scissors to the cowlick, but Central Barbers did an amazing job. Best his haircut has been in a really long time. We would definitely recommend Central Barbers.

Fantastic experience: Pao is amazing! She’s cut and colored my hair several times and always pays great attention to detail, her slight perfectionism is something I really appreciate. She offers helpful suggestions, provides great service, and I always leave with my hair styled, which is super convenient if you have plans right after. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I recently paid over $400 for a hair Botox treatment from Paulin (@paogau), referred through a colleague, including shampoo and conditioner, expecting smoother, healthier hair. After the first wash, my inner hair still looked like my original hair because the treatment was not applied evenly, which is clearly a fault from their side. Initially, the stylist said she would retouch it, but at the appointment, I was told I would need to pay another $90 just for the product. While the treatment is supposed to be “progressive,” the uneven application meant I didn’t get the expected results the first time, despite paying a significant amount. Overall, the service felt unprofessional and overpriced given the poor results and additional charges. That left me feeling like I paid a large amount but didn’t receive the full service I was promised. At this point, I’ve lost both trust and the money I invested, which is very disappointing. I would not recommend this service and suggest others be cautious before booking.

Positive experience: Just did a walk in. Waited a few minutes for the guy 'who did long hair'...A very traditional type of shop. Really enjoyed the experience.

Negative experience: Quick help, but work seemed rushed. Pricelist said beard 15$, so I asked for a beard cut, ended up being 25$ but whatever (could have at least told me in advance). Once at home to check from up close, contours were sloppy and neck barely clean. Is this a Victoria cut? Or am I just spoiled back home in Amsterdam?

Fantastic experience: Ankit at Central Barbers & Stylists is a grooming god! My jungle of a head was carved into a suave masterpiece. I went in looking like I’d been raised by wolves; I left runway-ready and barely recognized myself in the mirror. But let’s talk about the real adventure: ear and nose waxing. As a cowardly newbie, I braced for pain—maybe a fainting spell, maybe a scene from a horror movie. Instead, Ankit’s wizard hands went to work. One second I’m sweating; the next, yank!—my nostrils are so clear I’m picking up Wi-Fi. My ears? Smoother than a buttered seal at a slip ‘n slide. Was it painless? Look, I won’t lie—there was a yelp, my soul briefly left my body, and I might’ve whispered “tell my family I love them.” But it was (mostly) painless thanks to Ankit. Fantastic experience: I have been going to this shop for ages. I have sat in many chairs and I must admit I’ve never been disappointed. I leave feeling good about myself, having felt taken care of. Cool space. They take walk ins. There is often a bit of a wait but I didn’t mind.

Negative experience: Barber rushed through my cut, had very little attention to detail and did not accurately perform what I asked specifically for technique

Negative experience: I have been loyal and tip 100% but really depends on who is working I guess. Unfortunate, 5 star to 2 star and I will not be back.

He probably gave me the best one I’ve had since the 90s. Very affordable, amazing haircut, nose & ear wax. I am a new man. Thank you very much Hamada. Fantastic experience: Took my husband to see Bashir after getting haircuts by myself for the last 10 years at home! To be fair, I am a hairstylist but we figured it was time to get a proper haircut from a barber, with the whole experience! Bashir was amazing! So knowledgeable and really did an amazing job. Great space, welcoming staff and just all around awesome! Safe to say I lost a client ;)

Negative experience: Not a great experience, oddly rushed haircut. Spent about 13 minutes just going round with clippers. Usually with my skin fade it's 30-40 minutes of careful work with clippers, scissors, and blade, and the curls on top gets carefully styled and shaped. This one unfortunately was just a quick buzz round, leaving the top way too short and shapeless, and did a grade 0 fade, not skin. It was similar to a friend offering to cut your hair, but still charged $35 :( Shame because the place seems really nice otherwise.

Negative experience: STAY AWAY. SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE THE BARBER TOOK HALF OF MY EYE BROWSE OFF AND HAIRCUT IS NOT EVEN MORE LIKE CHOPPED, THEN THEY ONLY DO CASH.ONLY....... WOW. WONDER WHY AND HOW REVENUE CANADA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS PRACTICE

Fantastic experience: The only place I get my hair cut at now - I’m a low maintenance kind of person so I go for a trim every couple of months. Olga is fantastic and she always gets exactly what I want. I’ve found getting a good haircut tricky in the past because I don’t know any of the terminology, I go into a haircut wanting it to be shorter, and to look good. This place does it right, and for only $30. 10/10!

Negative experience: Avoid this place if you value your time. After waiting almost 30 minutes, some guy strolls in and tries to go next....I pointed out I was next up, but the story was, it will be fast, this guy is my client. Nothing like wasting their customers time

Negative experience: I got a women’s haircut and liked the haircut but it ended up costing $90 for just a touch up on dead ends and bangs then a style that took very little time. $90 for a dead end trim is pretty ridiculous especially for a student. Also didn’t take card and made me get cash from an ATM which has an additional charge. Weird not to be taking card in this day and age

Negative experience: Very busy place. Do Not make an appointment!! You will be ignored. The owner called and I went back the next day. He explained the reason for my wait. I had my hair cut and feel I would return again. I always like the feel of the shop.

Fantastic experience: Took my son (5) there while walking around Victoria. Not a “kids” place, but we were welcomed with open arms. We came over from Friday Harbor for the night and happily stumbled across this place. There were a few people (4) waiting, but 3 barbers/stylists at work. Maybe 10 min wait. We were lucky to get the owners corner spot. I’ve never seen so much swagger from my son after a hair cut. Great vibe, friendly people. Would happily go back when in town. Nice work.

Fantastic experience: Our five year old needed a haircut. Not all places welcome kids in with open arms - but this place treated our son like they did everyone, graciously and kindly. I think at one point it ranged from 5-85 years old, everyone walking out looking smart. We couldn’t have asked for a better hair cut experience. 5 stars. Negative experience: Got a cut and shave yesterday cost me 40$...this morning when looking in the mirror I noticed my hair is visibly shorter on the right side compared to the left, I also needed to shave my face as my moustache wasnt equal there was a quarter inch of difference from one side to another

Negative experience: 1/5 Barbers who work here are good. I've gone a bunch of times because it is a convenient location for me. The last time I went, one of the barbers kept talking about the Texas border and how she wanted her landlord to die. Also forgot to cut the top. Did not ask for them to keep trying because they already gave me the choppiest taper I have ever had. The time before that, one of the guys messed up the back of my head and kept blaming it on my previous barber (who I had not been to in over 2 months at that point). They have better people working early in the morning usually.
