Negative experience: I used the online check in and locked in a spot with a 42 minute estimated wait… showed up right on time, ready for the full experience they advertise. Right off the bat, the receptionist was in a huge rush and barked “Your name?!” without any warmth. That abrupt energy set the tone alright. The real letdown…Tommy Gun’s website and marketing hype up every haircut as including a shampoo wash, scalp massage, rinse, professional styling, and a relaxing hot towel finish. I booked a razor fade expecting exactly that premium treatment. What I got? Styling and a quick blow-dry. No wash, no massage, no hot towel, and zero razor work on the fade. This happens way too often at Tommy Gun’s because it’s a franchise model, service quality varies WILDLY by location, front-desk communication (or lack of it), and individual barbers. Some spots nail the full ritual consistently, but others cut corners when busy or understaffed, and details like what I booked just don’t get passed along properly. Their “every cut includes…” guarantee sounds great on paper, but it doesn’t always translate in practice. I’ve had solid visits at other locations, but this one was a miss. If you’re counting on the advertised wash/massage/hot towel perks to justify the price, ask upfront or consider a spot with better consistency reviews. Won’t be my go to anymore.

Fantastic experience: I was searching for a hairdresser for my son because every time we went to Lee Lee he ended up with crooked haircuts and spots that were too short and too long. I saw a girl at the pool with her two sons. They had the perfect haircuts and I asked her where to go and she said Tommy Lees in Hillside mall and ask for Andie. My son was melting down because he was expecting to go to Lizzy Lee and ended up in a new barbershop. It took some time and some coaxing to get him to go in but Andie and all the staff were incredibly kind and very patient with my son. We ended up getting a haircut with him, sitting on my lap and squirming around quite a bit, but it still came out perfect. Highly recommend this to any parent bringing their kids in for a proper haircut.

Fantastic experience: I always get a fade haircut and it usually takes barbers around 45 minutes or more. Today, Belo gave me an amazing fade in less than 10 minutes! The result was better than I expected. From now on, he’s my go-to barber!

Positive experience: Very good hair cut, however, i did call and ask for a price on a hair cut and a beard trim. I was told 65$ on the phone. Got my hair cut, went to the front counter, and guy tells me the cut was 90$.... Ive never paid over 50$ for a hair cut and a shape up.. kinda ridiculous cuz i wasnt told about any ad ons or extras, the price just went up 30$ lol. Great hustle guys.

It is his second time going to Tommy guns he is 3 1/2 years old and the experience that we have had there has been out of this world Andy did an absolutely incredible job with my son’s fauxhawk faux mullet haircut. She was absolutely amazing with my son. He was so comfortable and didn’t fuss at all. We will 100% be back and will be going out of our way to make sure that we see Andy again.

Negative experience: Branch: Hillside mall First visit: We went to the barber, but it didn’t seem like they were very comfortable handling a child. the barber would sigh even at the slightest movement. Second visit: We showed the barber the hairstyle we wanted, but unfortunately, the cut looked nothing like the picture. The price was also quite high and didn’t feel justified considering the result. In the future, please ensure that your barbers are truly skilled—especially when cutting children’s hair.

Negative experience: Went to Tommy Gun's barber shop with a picture of the haircut I wanted to get. Seems easy to cut if you have a picture of what the customer wants. But NO! The first time the cut my hair too short on one side and left too long on the other. Even the manager was shocked at the state of my haircut. I got a refund after telling them it was a disaster, but the manager said, and I quote, "Did you have a picture?" I said Yes. "If you come back to us again I will cut it for you, and I won't charge you". It took more than 2 months for my hair to grow back in to the point I could get it cut and shaped again. This time the manager Jim, (James) cut my hair! Yet another disaster! Yes, this time I paid them and I gave him a tip. Anyone, that runs a barber shop that cuts hair this bad after continually bragging that they have over 30 years of cutting hair will need every penny. As people will definitely NOT COME BACK! What a waste of time and money! IOHO, the manager has 1 years experience 30 years old!

Fantastic experience: Probably the best haircut experience I’ve had in the last two decades at Hillside mall TG location. Stylist: KAE. They took time to ask about my hairstyle preferences, made suggestions and confidently advised on what might work best with my hairstyle preferences and face shape etc. Reasonable amount of chit chat but in general KAE was very focused and had an expert level of communication as well as attention to detail. Finally came product usage and recommendations based on the look I preferred. I’m not from Victoria, however I’m going to be looking to schedule as many future appointments with KAE as possible. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Negative experience: 0/0. Worst experience I've had getting a haircut. The barber was visibly annoyed when I asked to have more hair cut and a few days later ended up getting it re-cut. Maybe it was the particular barber I had, or maybe he had an off day but I won't be going back.

Negative experience: I've been many times. I wear a ponytail. I come in to get the fuzzy stuff on my neck trimmed. Very simple. Today a woman ran a clipper up to my temples cutting off a year and a half growth! Tried to stop her...but tge damage was done! So she had to wreck the other side too. But couldn't even do that properly. Called the manager and asked to speak to the owner. I was assured the owner would call by 11:30 today. It's 2pm....no call. The worst experience I've ever had in my life! By the way, I'm a barber

Negative experience: Only giving any stars for the sake of Andie who works very hard every time I come in. The manager is a complete joke, overbooks his workers and then acts surprised when they fall behind. I was delayed by 30 minutes TWO times after booking a phone appt. Not Andie’s fault. While finally receiving my cut I got to overhear the manager attempting to book a walk in appt right after me, over Andie’s break. Her coworker had to back her up just so she didn’t continue to get swamped. She hadn’t been given a break all morning. All while he roams around pretending to look busy and acting like Mr. Charming good guy with customers. The haircut was fantastic, my tip better be headed to her alone.

My son walked in with zero idea of what he wanted—his only request was to look “cool.” And he got exactly that! The barber who helped us around 4:15 PM on April 8 at the Hillside location was patient, professional, and had the kind of calm, expert manner that instantly built trust. His thoughtful suggestions and genuine attention to detail made it clear he cares deeply about his craft. The result? One very happy teen and one very grateful mom. Please pass along my sincere thanks to the barber — he nailed it!

Negative experience: I had my haircut yesterday and the lady in the reception charged me extra, saying that the barber took longer to cut my hair. When did this thing started? I paid $49.50 for a $37+tax haircut? Not my fault, did not asked for a specific haircut, just my normal haircut. You guys are scamming your regular clientele with this hidden charges, it doesn’t say on your price list that you will charge extra if the barber took longer to finish. No one in the island does that!

Negative experience: My partner and I chose to visit Tommy Guns for his birthday after reading great reviews. Since they don’t take appointments and he was busy, I added his name to the waitlist specifically for Gabby. When he arrived, we even mentioned it was his birthday, hoping for a great experience—but instead, he was given to Amigo, and the whole experience was a disaster. My partner had been growing his hair out for months, wanting the perfect haircut for his big day. Unfortunately, Amigo did a terrible job. He didn’t get a wash, a hot towel, or the signature head massage—basic things that should have been part of the service. Worse, despite being told not to, Amigo thinned out his hair so much that it lost its shape and density, leaving it uneven and poorly styled. He came home so disappointed—months of patience and effort wasted on what was supposed to be a special day. To make matters worse, he had a big party that night and felt self-conscious about his hair. Instead of feeling confident and excited for his birthday celebration, he felt upset and let down. It’s frustrating that after specifically mentioning it was his birthday, the experience ended up being so disappointing. Really disappointed with the service!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience at Tommy Guns Hillside. My barber was not only skilled but also incredibly patient with my toddler, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. The haircut was sharp, the fade was seamless, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend, especially for parents with little ones!

Negative experience: My boyfriend got his haircut here today and it is the worst haircut he has ever had. The woman (middle aged, apprentice maybe) didn’t know what a fade was and it is not blended at all. Go anywhere else, this is the second time they’ve done a horrible job.

Negative experience: Terrible Customer Service. Because I booked online and it was an immediate opening and first in line. Once I arrived a few minutes later there was a couple of people in line (drop in) and they gave my spot away instead of informing the person just dropping in that they would have to wait 20 mins or slightly more. I was then informed that I would be waiting for 20mins or more. This is not only showing disrespect for their customers, but not honouring their own appointment system. Give your money and business to another company that will be decent and follow some reasonable standards for their customers.

Positive experience: The haircut was good. However, when I called ahead to see if I could put my name in for the queue, they answered the phone and then left it on the desk for almost 20 minutes, serving customers in the store for a while, then just talking to each other for a bit after. They only actually answered the phone when they were trying to call someone to let them know it was their turn. When I did actually arrive at the store, they had no people in line, so they obviously were not busy enough to leave the phone unattended for so long. I will not be coming back here, as it was very disrespectful to not properly answer the phone

Fantastic experience: I get my hair cut by Aimgo at the Victoria Hillside Mall location every month, and he consistently goes above and beyond. His attention to detail is unmatched, and he has an incredible ability to treat people the way they want to be treated—with respect, kindness, and genuine care. Aimgo’s skill and professionalism make every visit an outstanding experience. I truly hope he gets the recognition he deserves because he’s not just a great barber—he’s the best. Fantastic experience: My stylist was so friendly, she gave me a really relaxing head and shoulder rub and my favourite the hot towel treatment!

Negative experience: I really don’t want to sound offensive but they need to get rid of the older lady with the dark hair at the front desk, she doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. I’ve been a customer at this location for many years now and the shop has really been going downhill lately.. the vibe is just not the same.

Negative experience: Worst Hair Cut I had I specifically said that do not touch the top part of my hair, I was away from the mirror when he was cutting my hair so I couldn’t see what was happening. The barber was yawning most of the time and rushing my hair cut.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time there, very nice looking place and very clean.All station have their own sink for shampoo etc and all mirrors have integrated tv whiches very nice. Gabby did an amazing job with my hair, knowing some bald spot he managed to do an haircut just perfect.The fade was mint as well and the sherry on top...you get a free soft drink when you leave. I highly recommend this barber !

Negative experience: I go to this location usually every 4 weeks to get a bread trim and a buzz cut it's always great and Im very clear about what I want. I always mention that I don't want my moustache to be cut but today the barber cut 1/3 of my moustache from the top and bottom so moustache's looking like a thin string. I don't know how my moustache is going to grow back evenly with a portion of it being shaved off so my options are; to maintain a look that i explicitly said I'm not looking for or shaving my whole bread off after spending 50 dollars on it and wait for it to grow back! Neither of the options seem fair or something I would willingly do.

Fantastic experience: We went in today with my 1.5 year old son for an emergency hair fix after a different salon really botched it. The barber did a great job working with my son, as it was his second cut of the day and he was a bit squirmy. Unfortunately, a lot of the hair had to be shaved off to even out the cut, but I feel that the barber did the best he could with what he was given. I wish we'd come here first.
