Fantastic experience: Langford Tommy Guns, My barber was absolutely amazing. Hands down the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. They were professional, detail-oriented, and really took their time to make sure everything was perfect. The fade is clean, the lines are sharp, and the overall experience was top-notch from start to finish. I walked out feeling confident and taken care of. Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be back.

Negative experience: If you're going to be charging $30 for a children's haircut, you better make sure those haircuts are immaculate!

Negative experience: Thought I’d try again. after a less than satisfactory haircut the first time. To my surprise I had the same girl. Everyone gets a second chance right? Cut half my hair then washed it then cut the other half. I’m I missing something here. Applied product in my hair but never styled it. When I got home to a well lit bathroom mirrors I noticed how uneven and awful my hair was. No more chances. I’m done here or i’ll do it my self.

Negative experience: I’ve been waiting a long time to write this review and today was the final attempt. When I first moved to Victoria, Tommy Gun’s was excellent. Great haircuts, great service, clean shop, and staff who actually cared. Unfortunately that version of this place no longer exists. The current experience feels like First Choice Haircut but somehow worse and significantly more expensive. Appointments appear to be more of a suggestion than a booking. Even arriving early still results in delays. Today I was told it would be another 15 minutes, which was fine, until a walk in parent with three children arrived and was given my spot instead. Efficiency clearly means something different here. My previous visit sealed the deal. I received a bad haircut and left with my neck sliced open during a shave. The bleeding was never properly addressed and the haircut still managed to be rushed and uneven. A rare achievement to deliver two separate failures in one appointment. One bonus to this was a permanent scare that I get to tell everyone about who did it. If that’s the type of advertising you guys wish for, well you nailed it. Talk about “cutting costs, not hair.” I will not be returning. This is genuinely disappointing because this shop used to be one of the best in the city. I wish I could track down the staff who built its reputation in the first place. It is a shame to see how far it has fallen.

Negative experience: No complaints about the barber. Consistent issues with front desk staff. I consistently tip more than 25% for the work the barber does. But the experience of dealing with immature front desk female staff makes for an extremely poor experience overall. Unfortunately I have to find a different barber shop now.

Negative experience: I've been barbering since I was 19... that's 17 years. I thought about moonlighting here but based on the demeanor of the staff and what previous customers have been saying that this is a garbage shop. I kindly told the manager to go ____ himself. So much of barbering is about respect and good communication and I wouldn't lower myself to get my hair cut by anyone here unless you're seeing good things about their name in the reviews because they'll be going places, otherwise I don't recommend this location.

Negative experience: Booked two back to back appointments for my kids in the morning for the afternoon (after the stylists lunch). They squeezed a client in at our appointment time and made us wait (we were in the waiting room when this happened). Was told it was going to be a quick cut and that they had a few stylists away sick. The front desk guy came by every 5 minutes and told us it was almost our turn. After 30 minutes and my young kids crawling the wall, I got upset. The guy at the front desk rudely interrupted me when I expressed my frustration and told me that when I want a specific stylist, I have to wait for them even though we booked an appointment. The client they squeezed in was the one with the stylists away sick and the barber shop knew this since that morning. They should have rescheduled the appointment with the stylist away instead of trying to get as much money as possible and overlap clients in our appointment spot. The front desk said that I can leave if I want and was overly emotional about the situation they caused. We left and we are never going back. This is the second time we had terrible service at this location. Save your money and don't bother supporting this chain.

Negative experience: Clearly told the guy the only thing he couldn’t do with my hair was use thinning sheers…so of course he did…cut looks like crap! Obviously this guy had NO idea what he was doing.

Fantastic experience: I only get my hair cut by one barber — Oleg. I can’t say anything about others. But! Every single time after a haircut with Oleg, everyone who sees me gives me compliments about my hairstyle. This has never happened before. Not once in my life, no matter where I got my hair cut. I’ve been getting haircuts from Oleg four times now, and all four times — without exception — literally everyone compliments my haircut. I think that’s the clearest sign of a great barber.

Positive experience: Barber was really nice and took his time with my son’s hair. Thank you! He’s very happy with it. The lower rating is for the front desk staff. Really not friendly, no eye contact. There’s a clipboard and markers insinuating that children can color while waiting, there was no paper, when we asked her for a piece of paper to color she seemed very annoyed and frustrated that we even asked.

Fantastic experience: My 11 yo son saw Kathy in Westshore mall. He hates getting his hair cut in general, and always has, but finally appeased me to get a tidy up after growing his hair for atleast 6 months. We walked in, reception took our name right away and we waited for merely 3 minutes before getting in. Kathy consulted with him and decided to look at photos with him so he could decide with her. I liked that she made him a part of the decision rather than just me giving direction on what to do. I immediately loved her energy and my son was very comfortable right off the bat as well. She picked a haircut for him that was exactly what he wanted (low taper fade) which cleaned up around the neck and ears (what I wanted) but left the length at the top (what he wanted). The cut was fast and efficient (20 mins max) and his cut was great by the end! Here’s the kicker, he said he “actually kinda liked getting it cut”. So we have a winner folks, looks like Kathy is stuck with us forever. Highly recommend, couldn’t have been a better experience for us.

Fantastic experience: Consistently great hair cuts for both my husband and my 5yo. We’ve had several different hair stylists (we never request anyone) and it’s always excellent cuts and service. I made the mistake of trusting another place and had to come back to Tommy’s quicker than normal so they could fix my kiddos hair back up! They are great with kids and I like the environment too. Pretty easy to get same day appointment. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: When I showed up I expected it may be a long shot to get fit in but we were desperate to get a hair cut for our 2 yr old. They got us in right away. The barber that cut my sons hair was extremely patient and accommodating. She was very pleasant and friendly to deal with.

Negative experience: I'm usually never the one to leave a negative review but this time it was necessary since it was the worst experience I have had getting a hair cut "ever". People should expect a good haircut. Every employee should be experienced and trusted especially with hair. Thank god hair grows back!! This gentleman was not, I even came back to get it fixed and ruined it further. This wasn't the first time I had someone ruin my hair there at Langford location. Negative experience: I stopped going to the Langford location. They completely messed my hair and beard up. I didn’t complain at the time as the barber just arrived in Canada and I felt bad for her. My son went today and his hair is awful. I’ll have to take him somewhere else to fix it tomorrow. My assessment is they are bringing cheap labour in which unfortunately produces not great results. It’s a shame as it used to be a great barbers.

Negative experience: I got there at the time of my appointment and I got told to come back an hour later without explaining why. This is the worst haircut I ever had. Does anybody have recommendations for a decent barber shop in Langford?

Fantastic experience: A great first experience! Friendly staff working efficiently at a quick pace. I had a haircut and a beard trim. I had a pleasant conversation with the stylist during the cut and trim. He was efficient but not hurried. Once finished, he showed me some product for beard maintenance, and then I paid a very reasonable price and I was on my way. I would recommend paying them a visit at Tommy Gun’s if you need to clean up the bushman look which is what I walked in with. The peppermint and cedar beard cream is very nice!

Negative experience: Not sure why they expect you to sign in when they don’t ever state the correct time? Stupid check in system that doesn’t work, I have never had an accurate time for the service, sometime told over 2 hour wait when selecting a specific barber. Not at all good service, pretty inconvenient in todays busy world.

Negative experience: Will not be returning now that they charge $6 extra to shave the back of your neck during a haircut. It's 5 seconds of work, this equates to a rate of over $4,300/hour for a neck shave, when you're already paying a premium rate. Edit to response from business: A 20% increase to the cost of a haircut for a service that was once included, and is included in the price at every other barbershop is not "minimal".

Fantastic experience: Our hair stylist were very friendly and professional. Neither my son and I are very trusting when it comes to haircuts. However, Kate (My son’s stylist) and Jason ( my stylist) did amazing jobs. We will definitely continue going back. This was both our first experience with Tommy Guns and I guarantee it will not be our last. Also the prices are reasonable!! Thank you!!! You are all amazing.

Negative experience: This was my 2nd time at Tommy guns and will be last. The hair stylist barely spoke any language making it very hard to communicate. When showing what I wanted through many photos she said she understood and proceeded to not follow instructions. I have been a hairstylist before so for me this was very frustrating. As we continued she would ask how I style my hair when I go to show her with my hair she states I’m ruining it however she could not understood that she was not cutting my hair to the proper style I asked for. I couldn’t have gotten out of there quick enough. I’m not from here and have been looking for a reliable barber ever since i moved. The top of my head was left uncut and the rest nothing close to the style I have. Not only do I need to find a place to fix it but this whole endeavour costed me close to $40 for sub par work

Fantastic experience: If you have a beard and are worried about just anyone cutting it use Cait/kate not sure how to spell her name but she is freaking amazing with beards! A different place really messed my beard up and some how some way she fixed it!!! Very impressed!!

Fantastic experience: We love this place! I took my 4 year old here today and he wasn’t very excited about getting a haircut. The lady doing his hair was incredibly kind and helpful when it came to making him feel comfortable. (i think her name was maria?) She achieved the exact look I asked for and did it very fast! Another person working there also took the extra step to rinse off my son’s lollipop after it got hair on it, and he left a happy boy with a fresh cut! 10/10 would recommend this place!!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time at the Langford location as we just moved here - lived in Edmonton before and loved the Meadows location there. I booked a hair cut and beard clean up in the morning not knowing my son used his clippers to shave his beard before the appointment. The staff were so understanding and accommodating to change the appointment to a cut and straight razor shave. They also helped us pick something for his face as he had some irritation from not taking care of the beard - my son is autistic and has sensory issues. The staff had him laughing and made him feel super comfortable. Thank you!

Negative experience: Very pricey hair cut and frankly it's hit or miss. Ive had unbelievably good cuts and I've had awful ones. Some really take the time and some don't. Also I find it strange that on more than one occasion I started receiving a shoulder and back massage from the barber without asking. I find that incredibly weird. I came for a haircut not a rub down thanks.

Negative experience: Took my boyfriend in for a haircut as his barber was unable to see him. He had about 4 inch in length and asked for a #8 cut (like a fade on the side and about 1.5-2 inch on the top). Not only did they basically cut all his hair off, as pictured, extremely uneven. It’s different lengths on the top in different areas. Nothing even about it. He was done in under 15 minutes. If you have a regular barber you go to, highly suggest sticking to them instead of doing a walk-in here. Definitely not worth the $30.

Negative experience: I wanted a haircut so I called Friday morning for an appointment and it goes straight to voice mail that states they do not return calls. You cannot book an appointment in advance of the day you want a cut.I called their head office and they told me there is nothing they can do because they do not own that location. I just want a haircut. Hire someone to answer the phone. So frustrating that customer service at this location does not exist. I am a newer customer and Clearly they do not want my business.

Fantastic experience: Tommy Gun's Barber Shop is like the wizardry of hair fixes! My toddler went in with a bowl cut disaster from another place, and they performed a magical transformation. Not only did they rescue my kid's hair, but they also managed to clean up my look to the point where even my wife noticed – now that's some serious spousal approval level-up! I was pleasantly surprised to have my hair cut by someone of her caliber. I booked my appointment randomly, and it was short notice. When Kate cut my hair, she worked exceptionally swift and with accuracy. She maintained a full conversation whilst cutting my hair efficiently. When she washed my hair, afterwards, I walked away with no hair trimmings on my neck or ears. Her hands are magic!

Negative experience: Tommy guns usually gives a decent hair cut. First time at this location, maybe cut by someone else would of been better. Woman that cut my hair. Didn’t want to cut my hair shorter when I asked for it. When she was done. I said it still looked like I need a hair cut. She laughed and said it was a new style. Never returning to this location

Fantastic experience: Stylist Jenna is very skillful, efficient and thorough. The styling procedure includes a hair wash and conditioner at the end, as well as a very refreshing hot towel. Jenna always manages to include a few minutes of light neck massage.

Negative experience: Are you in the neighborhood and looking for a quick cut? Shopping in the mall and feeling a little scruffy? Then do NOT come to this place. There is a barber pole but it is really more of a hair boutique for men. To get a haircut you must download their app and make an account and blah blah blah... whatever! I've been trying to get a haircut here for a month. They recognize me and chuckle as they say 'all booked try another day' while knowing full well that they do not accept drop-ins. I'll stick to driving to Naden for my haircut since they are more friendly to veterans. These people say they have service appreciation but I don't feel appreciated nor do I feel that these guys even want my business... because I don't do apps. They have enough business with men who want salons and not barbers. I managed to get in once in February for a buzz but after over a month of trying, I won't bother with this place ever again.

The last barbershop that cut my hair was one of the best on the island I’ve read and been told (I won’t name names) but they butchered my hair. Also, my hair is really different than most and I’ve had a really hard time finding someone who can cut it well, and the woman who cut mine yesterday did an amazing job. Fantastic experience: Great experience from the moment you walk in. I was greeted right away and able to get an appointment on the spot. I was looking for a haircut and beard trim and was handed over to a fella named Oleh. Sat down with him and chatted briefly about what I was looking for and let me tell you he did not disappoint. The man is a perfectionist! Paying close attention to every hair on my head and face.I was nervous at first about getting my beard trimmed, as it was my first time getting a good trim. He far exceeded my expectations and the finished product was fantastic! Lots of comments thought the day. If you are needing a clean haircut or beard trimming, Oleh is your man! Little side note: I loved Oleh’s station set up too. All his tools are neatly placed in their spots, all in order and ready for when he needs them.

He keeps his hair short, doesn't use any product & always gets a service that works for him without much explaining. He loves the atmosphere & comes out in a better mood!
