Fantastic experience: Colton did James's hair for our wedding and WOW he did an amazing job. Originally, I hadn't even really thought about what James would do for his wedding hair and was initially hoping one of his groomsmen could help (because James is blind). Well, James went to get his hair trimmed by Colton a few weeks before the wedding and he knew exactly what James would need for the day of the wedding! He had James come back the morning of our wedding and made his hair look AMAZING (very happy wife when I saw him looking so dapper). James was thrilled and received so many compliments - it really made him feel confident throughout the whole event! THANK YOU COLTON & the Victory Barber team - it is a lovely shop and we would recommend 10/10!!

Negative experience: I would strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this individual or his brand, including Victory Barber and Victory Barber Brand Products. My wife's company previously carried the products and it was one issue after another. The staff is not only incredibly unprofessional but they are also dishonest and made repeated misrepresentations. Efforts were made to reach out to Matty directly to secure his assistance after requests to speak with a supervisor were flat out denied! Matty indicated he would look into the matter but failed to do so and after repeated follow ups refuses to respond. The persona he presents is apparently nothing more than a carefully crafted branding effort. My wife took on the brand when it first launched, promoting and supporting Matty from the start and this is the thanks she gets. Major fail! Do not support this company with your dollars! ----------------------- Thank you Josh but is the barbershop not owned by Matty Conrad who is also the owner of Victory Brand Barber Products? My understanding is that it in fact is.

Fantastic experience: Great barber shop in the heart of downtown. I came in for a much needed haircut and the stylist Crystal did an amazing job. Everyone there seemed super nice and they did a pretty thorough job. Will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to this place a few times and two different barbers (due to scheduling) and have had phenomenal experiences with both Roland and Kendra. Experienced barbers who listen to exactly what you want and execute to perfection. 10000000% would recommend this to not only people passing through but people looking for a long term barber while you live in Victoria.

Fantastic experience: I visited Victory Barber and Brand 3 times leading up to my wedding. While I normally get my hair cut at less expensive barbers, the difference in quality of cut, service, and atmosphere was noticeable and made me question my previous philosophy. We made 5 bookings on the morning of my wedding for myself and my 4 groomsman, and Victory was accommodating and professional in all aspects. All their barbers were welcoming, friendly, and more than capable. All 5 of us walked out of the shop feeling fresh as ever and ready for the big day. All of my personal appointments were made with Justin Mansbridge. Justin is a consummate professional and all-around great guy. His experience is evident in all facets of his craft, and the easy conversation was a bonus. I will definitely be back to Victory soon.

Fantastic experience: This place has been a 10/10 since my first haircut 9 years ago. Most talented barbers that will snip you up exactly what works for your head, even when you’re not certain what you want. Some of the staff are still the OG! Their second location that welcome walk in’s at a lower price is perfect for a grab and go all in one gourmet hot dog, beer, game of pac man and a quick cut before you head out on the town. Best in the city. Highly suggest. Great people. Great atmosphere, and very socially aware staff. Go get *snipped in a non religious way.

Negative experience: I pre booked 7 months ago with Victory for my wedding. I was really looking forward to the guys getting ready there for the morning of our wedding, because Victory looks like they do very good work. but unfortunately a month before my wedding they canceled due to my wedding being on a holiday. I just feel like that is very unprofessional to take on the job and not to pre plan your holidays off in advance. Wedding planning is stressful enough. very disappointed.

Negative experience: Been there twice and won’t be going back. Both times barber was late and rushed my haircut to make up time. Didn’t get my hair washed even though that was in the description of what I paid for. Not friendly aside from the gentleman behind the counter. The cuts were good but they treated me like a nuisance.

Fantastic experience: the business is great and I had great experiences with all me previous appointments, but in my last visit , Aahmes, the barber that I go to for more than two years did not even acknowledge that I was waiting for more than 10 minutes and let me know when will be my turn! Hard to get time off work and had to go back to work. if it was Aahmes rating I would give him one start! but the business is great and still I give 5 star

Fantastic experience: Such an experience. If you have a beard, hair or both, you need to go here to give your hair the treatment it deserves. As a bonus, I use their beard wash and oil and it is the best I've used.

Fantastic experience: The service is amazing and the people are super friendly. The atmosphere is lovely with good music. I majorly messed up my own haircut at home and they fixed me right up. They’re Obviously very skilled and understood exactly what I wanted. And had no issues fixing what I didn’t want with my haircut. And told me “I’d rather you walk out of here with a haircut that you like” and even washed off the loose hair with water and product!! I’ve never had that ANYWHERE before and it was super nice! Some people complain about the price but I think it’s worth every penny you get treated really nicely here. I can’t remember the name of the person who cut my hair but thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: The name? Alister Love The cut? Immaculate The professionalism? On and poppin'. Ya'll need to take yourselves on down to Victory and see this barber. What an excellent cut - easily one of the top 5 barbers I've ever been to, and one of the best cuts I've ever had. It looked great in the chair, but when I got home and got to inspect in closer detail, I realized what a born barber Alister really is. You should also strongly consider bombarding this business with your business since they clearly seek to hire the best. Update: Still on. Still poppin.

Fantastic experience: Met with Alister today for my first hair cut and beard cleanup at Victory. Top notch service and best barber experience i have ever gotten so far. The place has a great vibe and very dog friendly. Great overall experience and will definetly make Victory my barber shop moving forward. My daughter now says I don't look homeless anymore, thanks Allister!

Fantastic experience: I don't always have the money to spend on a Victory haircut, but when I do, it's worth it. Alister Love is unreal. Super friendly and insanely skilled at what he does. I gave him free-reign on my unkempt beard and he just nailed a look that works for me. He explained every step he took and even gave me a chance to back out of the straight-razor shave when I had a brief look of fear in my eyes. I was in-and-out of the chair pretty quickly too, but never felt rushed. I highly recommend Victory.

Negative experience: Been here a ton but today was my last visit I think. Didn't have the heart to tell the barber that I got a haircut I absolutely did not want as they showed me the final product. Showed a picture of what I wanted and have been working towards growing out my hair and ended up with a completely different cut. Pretty bummed out. Don't think I'll be back.

Fantastic experience: Usually have Roy as my barber who always knocks it out the park. However Victory’s new apprentice barber Colten cleaned me up today and did a stellar job! If you’re looking for a short cut/ clean up or Colton’s “speciality” (a mullet) then give the new kid a try, he’ll make ya handsome!

Negative experience: Barber cut the length on top way too short. He also didn’t style my hair when he said he would. He just put cream in my wet hair and was like “ I’m done”. Not worth $40

Fantastic experience: I have finally found my barber/stylist. Crystal can never quit. Sounds like Victory is a great work environment and she's pretty happy here so I'm not worried. I've tried a number of places over the last year in my quest for barbers who specialize in beards. Lots of people cut hair wonderfully, but beards...? It's a whole other beast. I've got some pictures of god-awful trims to prove it. I will happily travel down from Nanaimo to get my hair cut here. Sure, I followed Matty's beard trimming tutorials during the pandemic and they did in a pinch, but there's nothing like having a pro do the job right. Crystal is the best I've found. She's so lively and friendly and considering this was my first appointment with her, we chatted like old friends and I left feeling like I had the best haircut/beard trim in 3 years. Already booked my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Been going here steadily since they opened and cannot be happier to support a business like this. The people that work here are genuinely nice and respectful people. The haircuts are top tier simply because the team are well trained and seem to genuinely care about what they do. Understandably some people don’t want you pay more than $20 for a cut and that is completely fair if you view it as just getting your mop cleaned up. However if you want a great cut while supporting a local, community minded business that is run by good people, and who hire good people, this is worth every penny.

Negative experience: I hate to put a negative review but it felt like the barber didn’t listen at all. I showed him a picture of the last haircut I got and unfortunately it looked nothing like it. I’ve had good haircuts here before but this one was just super disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I had my first beard tune up in two years recently and it felt so nice to be groomed by a professional again. My beard looks great and I feel great too. The barbershop is such a sophisticated setting. The quality of service across the team is such a high level. This is the only shop I can get my favourite shave cream too.

Fantastic experience: Every since my first haircut with Crystal to my most recent with Aahmes, people have complimented my hair and I swear people check me out more. I could blame my parents for my beautiful hair but honestly there was a massive shift from pre-VB to post-VB. In the past groups of people resoundingly agree my haircut was great. My entire class during Navy training in 2012, the bands I was in 2016-18, and that nice girl in Save-On I promptly fled from, they all remarked unsolicited that my haircut was great :)

Negative experience: My long time barber had been increasing his rates over the years and saw Victory was far cheaper so a I booked in last month. My barber was friendly and talkative and I enjoyed our banter. But I was left slightly disappointed with the cut itself. My previous barbers attention to detail was so on point and I was expecting somewhat close to the same care and detail. Especially as my barber knew I was a new client. That wasn't the case as my cut was much shorter than what I wanted and had explained. I've been to a couple $20 barbershops this year and the quality is pretty close to what I got at Victory. Edit - Sent them 2 emails and and no response. Hope this isn't just lip service.

Fantastic experience: Great online booking system. Haircut is exponentially better than places I've been before, and my barber in particular is becoming a fast friend, on top of doing a super clean job each time. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Amazing place, best barber in Victoria by far. Alister Love is the bomb and clearly shouldn’t be a junior barber. As a matter of fact, it’s insulting that such a talented artisan is classified as such. Love this place and will be back. This isn’t your old school barber shop, it’s a museum with scissors!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Victory for a few months and consistently have great experiences at this location. My barber Daryn is excellent at listening to how I want my hair to look then executing the cut flawlessly. Besides being a pro with the clippers, Daryn is personable and treats me as he would with a friend, chatting about which video games we're playing, sharing tips and tricks and talking about what we're looking forward to next, then a half an hour later when the cut is finished I leave looking great. I highly recommend Daryn and will continue to visit him every time I visit Victory. -Ron

Fantastic experience: Amazing people who have vast ranges of experience, a large amount of products for all types of hair all nestled in a very warm environment and atmosphere that makes for an awesome haircut. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Didn't say anything while I was in there afterwards as I avoid confrontation. Was stuck on two or three stars for this reivew. Everyone in there was super nice, cool shop. I had some pretty long hair, went in for a trim to shoulders-mid neck. The dresser and I agreed upon this. Ended up going too short(at my nose) and now I have an afro as this is the awful mid-stage of my hair length. Would come back for normal cuts but if you have long hair perhaps bring it somewhere else Everyone in this shop was very friendly though!

Positive experience: One of the better barber shops in town, but be prepared to spend a bit more. I've been 3 times, and each time I've come away with a very nice haircut. No problems explaining what I'm looking for. Their barbers are all very professional and have mastered the art of conversation. Want to vent about your day? Great. Want to just relax and stay quiet? You're good to go. I've had mixed results with their hot shave; while very relaxing and enjoyable, I've found I can get at least as good if not closer at home with my own razor. Didn't really feel like I got my money's worth. They offer a good range of hair and beard products, though much like their services they are a bit overpriced. The decor is very cool, sort of post-industrial hipster chic (if that's your thing). Decent, but not quite great. Pros: +Great haircuts +Talented, professional staff Cons: -a bit overpriced -hot shave isn't super close

Positive experience: After trying many barbers around Victoria I am only able to recommend Victory. They are attentive, listen to you when you say what you want and clarify your idea, offering slight alterations that will genuinely look good. I have not used a single barber but many and every one has led to a great hair cut at Victory. The reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is the price is a bit high especially if you have a high maintenance cut that needs monthly or bimonthly attention.

Negative experience: It was nice great guys but the cut was awful and they butchered my hair. I asked for not much off but now I’m left with very very short hair.

Positive experience: Great atmosphere, and the demeanor/conversation from the Barber's was very professional, welcoming and entertaining. What I will say about this place; you are paying more for these things and the Branding than the haircut itself. A GOOD haircut, but not worth the price on its own. The premium pricing is just for those who want a decent cut whilst feeling they are in an episode of Portlandia (no offence!). Cool spot, but for my week to week haircuts I will probably try and find a spot lighter on the Brand (and price!) and heavier on the Barber.
