Fantastic experience: Love this place! First place i got my sons haircut when he turned 2, Hes now 8 and he loves his new fresh cut! very nice fade friendly staff and put some gel and styled it for him too :)

I've been getting hair cuts here since they opened over ten years ago and always walked out super happy with how they treated me and of course with the service. Denis is super gentle, great barber and takes his time to make sure you walk out of there happy! All you guys rock, keep up the great work!

Negative experience: Edit: I'm going to lower my ratings because I've been totally ignored in the past while sitting in for 20 mins. Also, one of the reviews suggests some intolerant casual remarks that's clearly not right in todays society. Tried these guys for the first time; the barber gave an outstanding medium fade cut. I didn't bother to get my hair trimmed though...just to try something new. Realized later, I should have trimmed a bit, so went back the next day. To my surprise, the guy did it at no extra cost...really appreciate it! Exceptional expertise at such cheap prices. What more can anyone ask for!

Negative experience: Had the worst experience this time i went in . Been going here since last 2 and a half years and they never disappointed me but this time my experience was really bad as i gave proper instructions and even showed a picture of the hairstyle and hair length that i wanted but the guy totally ruined my hair.

Negative experience: I got a great haircut tonight at Brother’s Barbershop on Fort. I appreciated that they took me in without an appointment at the end of the day. The price was great and the cut was so good I tipped 50% on a $20 service. However, I will NOT be going back because this was yet another bro-y barbershop on Fort street. If you’re looking for a business that’s stuck in 1995 toxic frat-boy culture, congratulations — you’ve found it. From the moment I sat down, it was non-stop “bro talk” between the staff and some of the clientele that was not only grossly inappropriate but flat-out offensive. Jokes about roofies. Casual homophobia (I couldn’t tell if it was from the staff or the clientele but it was TOLERATED nonetheless). And all of this while there were two young kids in the chairs.

Fantastic experience: Ppl have their favorites but I have had my haircut by everybody who works there and never been disappointed. Same goes for my 3 sons. Love these guys!

Negative experience: I was quite disappointed with how I was treated. I understand that I came in at the very last minute the first time due to my work schedule, but when I returned the following day, I made a real effort to arrive before 5 PM because I really wanted to get my hair done. Unfortunately, they told me they could no longer accommodate me and just left me hanging without offering any possible alternatives. I even tried calling ahead to book an appointment, but no one answered the phone. It was especially disappointing since this place came highly recommended by a friend.

Negative experience: Cheap but staff is insolent on no provocation at all, 'and' they only do a close-cut #1, no matter what you ask for. So if all you want is a pigshave, is your thing, this place is it. Perfect for military etc.

Fantastic experience: One of the best shops in the city, my personal favorite is Khan who has great skills. He's from Turkey and is extremely patient and kind while being quite skilled with several styles of haircuts

Fantastic experience: Don't let the price fool you, the staff here are really talented and do a great job. The place is always busy and they don't take appointments but the wait is never too long. Moved here in June and I'm relieved to have a solid barbershop.

Positive experience: They do good work but never seem to answer the phone when I try to make an appointment, and they don't very friendly to walk ins. They might want to consider hiring a receptionist or something.

Negative experience: I don't know if my barber was high or what, but it was embarrassing to be asked for a tip after I asked for a mid skin fade and got a very high one, and then tried to convince me it was mid when they'd made mistakes that forced them to go higher than they intended. Forgot to do the line I asked for, forgot to add product as requested, broke their buzzer, had to borrow one and commented on how they'd do a better job with a better buzzer... The cut was choppy and I had to even out some parts and trim lots of random hairs that were longer than the ones around them when I got home. Also, if you only take cash, which is very shady in 2024, you should advertise it clearly. There are signs everywhere with prices and this is not mentioned anywhere in the shop. I've come here a few times, tried many barbers. The good ones don't last. This place is cheap and quick, so good if you have a bunch of kids or just need a quick haircut. But if you're going on a date, have a job interview, are going to have photos taken... Go elsewhere. They also need to figure out a system to know who is next in line, because it's very frustrating as it is.

Both boys and myself were incredibly happy with the cuts/skin fades as they were exactly what we had asked for. A really good energy and vibe from everyone there. Boys are asking to go back again and I’m sure we will. Can highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Went there for the first time and received a friendly greeting the minute I walked in the door. I didn't catch the name of the lady that cut my hair but it was a top notch haircut, she asked lots of questions and did exactly what I wanted.

Positive experience: I don't konw . If you have a refference picture they might give you a good cut. But for me I had no idea which hair cut I want and got myself a haircut that I hate the most

Negative experience: I don’t normally write reviews on haircuts and I’ve had some terrible haircuts in my time. Asked for a trim to take alittle off and to clean up my dead ends had longer hair in the back. He ended up cutting all my hair off to the same length around my head probably took atleast 3 inches of hair off from the back when I asked for a trim. Very bad communication from barber to client

Fantastic experience: First-time customer here and I walked in a bit nervously. Got selected by Dennis and immediately he started asking several questions about the type of haircut I wanted: skin-fade or no skin-fade, tapered at the back or boxed, and how I wanted it styled on top... I really appreciated him asking all of these questions. It made me feel like he was actually listening! In the end, I got a great haircut, much better than I expected. I wanted a very natural blend/transition. I did not want a skin fade (the type that most barbers give by default) as it doesn't suite me. I'm glad Dennis listened! Price is lowest in the city I'd say. Very affordable. Tip: I think it's important for first-time customers to show a picture of the haircut you want. This will really save a lot of guess work by the barber (and will save you a lot of disappointment!) Thanks for the great haircut (and fun conversation) Dennis!

Fantastic experience: I love Brothers Barbershop! You are going to have a positive and welcoming experience every single time you walk into this barbershop. Each of the barbers will get to know you if you become a regular. Even when you aren’t a regular you will be treated as if you are a best friend. I tried out some of the other barbershops around town when I first moved here in 2020, they were all ok but I just felt my best at Brothers and always walk out with a great haircut. I usually have Dennis or Ocean cut my hair, and they are both very skilled and professional, as well as all the other barbers at the shop. Will continue going here for as long as I live in Victoria, and will suggest it to friends and family. Thanks for being such a great local business!!! <3

Negative experience: I did not anticipate the customer service to be this terrible. I clearly requested a haircut and also displayed a photo of how I wanted my hair to look. The person in charge only slightly cut my hair before ignoring or not taking into account my request not to reduce the side line. Additionally, when I expressed my dissatisfaction to her, they frowned a little and during the process s/he had a small cut on the finger (I even asked if s/he was okay). They then instructed me to return after bandaging, but when s/he did, they stated, "It's done; just ask someone else to fix it if you don't like it," in a rather harsh tone. Adding up-to this they didn’t even bother apologizing to this and the head barber kept defending the employee responsible!!! and felt like he was racist. Its a huge DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Never going here again :)

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever!!! Its a very good thing to defend your employee but not when your employee is in fault. Even though one of the barber offered to fix it and we were trying to tell our dissatisfaction. The head barber(I assume) kept on defending the employee saying our tone was not appropriate whereas we were only showing our dissatisfaction. Please show some respect and at least show the courtesy of apologizing when you are wrong instead of showing attitude! (P.S. My friend literally told her and showed her the style he wanted which she completely ignored and argued that he didn’t let her know)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Wasim. I have visited him three times so far, and each time the results have been consistently amazing. It can be difficult to find a barber in Victoria who is skilled with beards, but Wasim definitely knows his craft. Hands down the best barber in Vic!

Positive experience: I have gone there quite a few times but to rate it poorly because of one bad hair cut would not be fair. My last hair cut was done yesterday I must say it was the worst hair cut I have ever had. I have had almost all of them do my hair but yesterday took the cake. She was a female worked 22 years cutting hair. I wanted only a half inch off the top and a gradual #2 to #3 there is no way it was gradual and my bangs are horrid. The next time I go in will definitely not be her. I was so mad I just left.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely 10/10. I had a one day weekend and it just so happened to be Sunday, when brothers is closed. I have a job on Wednesday, so I was pretty much out of opportunities to get my hair looking less scruffy. I checked their schedule and they open at 8:30 - that's impressive! Unsure of what to expect traffic-wise, I showed up 10-15 minutes early. Walking in, Arnell (Arnel? I sure hope I spelled your name right!) was quick to greet and get me started. We had a good chat and he did an incredible job on my fade. I didn't realize until I was driving home that he did that all in just over 15 minutes!! Well done Arnell and team - keep up the great work. UPDATE 04/25/22: I have since been in to see Elle and Ocean. Both were quick, pleasant to talk to, and delivered top-notch work. I'm consistently thrilled with this barbershop; it seems every member of the staff enjoy what they do, and do it well.

Positive experience: Updated rating: It's the best priced cut in town and a great atmosphere but potential clients should factor in the time and costs associated with downtown parking and long waits up to an hour and potentially denial of service due to insufficient staffing. Visited the downtown location 3 days in a row prior to closing but they were unable to take me.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for last three years. Today was my last day of haircut since I’m moving. I gotta tell you that the service from the start of the doorstep till the end of the haircut is phenomenal. The price for which the service is provided is jaw dropping. I have tried out almost all the barbers at this place and they have been exceptional. I referred it to my friends and they left their usual 30$+ haircuts to these professionals Keep going guys!

Fantastic experience: I have to admit my bias: Vic, one of the brothers, has been giving me the best hair cuts for the better part of a decade, so i can't help but give five stars. Anything less would be dishonest. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Pure excellence, in all regards.

Negative experience: I have been there multiple times. I used to get a nice haircut every time except today. The reason is that one of the staff(the guy who's next to the entrance door) tries to just quickly finish his job and doesn't care about anything else. This time he literally just spent 4 minutes to finish my hair. The other staff however, are very professional and actually care about the job that they're doing. I am not quite sure why he did this to me. I didn't want to get into an argument or anything so that's why I just thanked him and walked out but next time I won't get a haircut from that guy anymore.

Fantastic experience: . More than just a barber shop to me. It's like a family thanksgiving dinner. Everyone razzing each other, joking and having a banter. All the employees play a part in the family dynamic. Vic and Artor are the head of the house, Koko the black sheep kid, Dennis the weird cousin who no one understands... You get the idea. I love joining this wacky family at the dinner table every couple of weeks for a hair cut. Highly, highly recommended. Pass the gravy and the potatoes please.
