Fantastic experience: Great barber shop atmosphere I've always been happy with my service from Dan Peterson.

Positive experience: I went there not having had a haircut in over 3 months. Their knowledge and personalities is a winning combination. They restored my faith in barbers. My only regret was when he showed me his hard work i asked for him to change a couple of things. After the fact i wished I had left him alone. Overall a very positive experience.

Negative experience: Posted hours for Sunday are incorrect on their own website. Strange in this day and age to do such a simple thing.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere, really professional. Rick did a really good job on my cut. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Negative experience: Carly Mcenire Took payment for a hair cut them keep telling me she want booked out. I tryed reaching out multiple times to no avail. Checked again this morning, and she blocked me on Venmo. So Unprofessional and I would stay far away. $75 just to waste your time.

Fantastic experience: This is my third time getting a haircut here. And with a different barber ever visit, I can truly say there isn't a bad haircut or beard trim to be had. Trolley Square Barbers has clearly fostered and grown a fantastic environment of talented professionals. I don't even live in SLC but this is my favorite barber shop by far.

Fantastic experience: When I moved to Salt Lake 3 years ago, I shopped around for barbers. Dillon Guyman at Trolley Square was one of the first barbers I had. He gave me the exact cut I wanted (at the time, I was rocking an under cut which is not easy to get right). I kept shopping around because I prefer barber shops with windows (this one is open and comfortable, but in the mall, so no direct windows). After trying 3 other barbers I went back to Dillon because he simply cut my hair the best out of everyone I tried. I also like the guy and am glad to have gotten to know him. Highly recommend Trolley Square Barbers and Dillon.

Fantastic experience: Carlos Arteaga was my barber, and it was a great first visit. He spent the time understanding what I wanted and made recommendations to make it even better. The cut itself was great. Love the old school feel of the place and looking forward to going back.

Positive experience: Love this place and the barbers here. They're all great people. This last time it felt SUPER rushed though. My barber was behind by a full 30 minutes (which doesn't matter) but then it felt like she was rushing with my head shave because the next apt arrived when we were only 50% done. She was rushing and ended up cutting the back of my head 2-3 times, pretty rough. Plenty of blood, cuts visible from 20 ft away, etc. Beard trim was 10/10 awesome. I like this place - but try to go during a not busy time I guess??? Also - website doesn't let you book shoe shine. I even put it as a comment when I booked my services but I don't think anyone saw it.

Fantastic experience: I love every single haircut I have gotten here. Women's haircuts can get expensive, but it's super reasonable here, as long as you're looking for a short cut, of course. Luna and Rick are my favorites here!

Negative experience: The person who was supposed to reach take care of my appointment called sick and no one reached out to me. Definitely poor service. Moreover, 2 people before me were present, with almost 1 hour before closure. Definitely someone could have taken care as I lost my time coming there. Surely won’t try to come back.

Fantastic experience: I usually have a rule about barbers, which is stick to your race. Latins cut Latin hair well, same with white and blacks. I’m Latin myself so I stay in my lane. BUT when I tell you every barber in the building has the skills on em, I mean EVERY barber in the building had the skills on em. This white dude, he does me up like he was raised in the Cuban cut, I’m talkin ethnic and styled. They have good style in general but if you’re going for a certain look be more specific and they oblique. Overall, great barbershop, talented nice people and my go to from here on out

Negative experience: Had a good experience when I went here the first time for 2 kid cuts with Ami. For our second visit I scheduled an appointment online just as I did before, this time with Luna. We arrived before the check in time, then waited patiently through the entire appointment- 45 minutes with no acknowledgment from the staff about running behind, being late, asking to reschedule, etc. Only when we get up to leave did someone stand up to say something, but it was too late.

Fantastic experience: Have spoken to many clients while waiting and all are loyal and speak about every barber being excellent at their craft. Katie is exceptional all around - and has even been a barber instructor.

Fantastic experience: I've had the same barber for almost 10 years and with pretty unruly hair going here was quite nerve-racking. I had nothing to fear! This high class, expertly managed, & elegant establishment was very welcoming and friendly. All the barbers got alone and loved having you join in on the fun with laughs and great conversation, if that is to you liking. No to menation the world class hair cut I received from Dillan Guymon (no relation) who did exactly what I asked him to do and maybe even better ! Fantastic experience: I only go to Dan when i get my hair cuts. Dan is a very professional, kind, patient, experienced barber and by far my favorite barber here at Trolley Square Barbers. His hair cuts always have come out very clean and great looking especially since i have some of the most difficult hair which grows in all different directions. Go see Dan! You wont regret it! UPDATE: I have now gone to a few others here at Trolley Square barbers and I honestly have to say ALL of them are amazing! By far the best barbers in SLC UT! Chad, Rick, Carlos and Dan are always my go to barbers! You can't go wrong with these guys I promise you!! They always take the time to make sure you like your haircut before you leave, such kind professional people here, love them! Fantastic experience: I like that they are open on Sundays, I have a very busy work week and use Sunday as preparation day for the upcoming week. So its very useful to find a GOOD place that cuts hair that is also very friendly, respectful, professional, affordable and of good quality.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst place I have been. The barbers are very confrontational when i said he cut my hair a bit too much. Waited for 40 min when he said there is a 20 min wait

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with my visit. I’ve been growing my hair out for a long time and have been looking forward to trying them out based on friends recommendations. I got there expecting what the website says (full service haircut, hot lather, shave around the neck and ears, and a neck scalp and shoulder massage, all supposedly not in a rush. Only the haircut happened. Got there, sat down, and got the cut, then I’m cleaned off and sent on my way :( very sad experience compared to what friends raved to me about, and very over priced for a stylist who didn’t even include all the advertised services. Made sure to tip her since she’s there working the day before a holiday, but couldn’t help wondering why I’d missed out on so much of what was advertised? Giving two stars instead of one because they were open the day before thanksgiving. Included a screenshot of what to actually expect if you plan on going in :)

Fantastic experience: One of the best hair cuts I have had in a very long time. My barber really knew her way around shears. She did exactly what I asked from her. It took me a while to get a spot but to be fair I was a walk in. I highly recommend this shop. Everyone was very professional. The prices were typical with $30 men’s cuts. They even had the option to get a shoe shine. Very cool spot overall.

Negative experience: Poor, when I went in there was no one in lobby. Tried to get hair cut as a walk in around 3pm. Blond lady said no, she's about to close the shop.. they clearly say they close at 9pm. Only reason I went in at 3pm to make sure I had time. Online they had so much availability open.

Fantastic experience: Carlos has been cutting my hair now since 2015 & I can honestly say I have never walked away not satisfied with a haircut. He takes his time, cuts it right, & most importantly LISTENS to what you want to do. Too many barbers have their own “style” they try to apply to haircuts whereas Carlos just listens to what you want & then cuts it that way. He’s nice, respectful, always asking about how I am doing & is never a bore to chat with. I’ve gotten fohawks, skin fades, medium fades, lineups, you name it & every time he nails it. Can’t recommend Carlos enough. Definitely worth the visit to see what he’s all about! Try to book in advance his schedule fills up too

Fantastic experience: Great place for a haircut! This was my first time here and I had really let my hair and beard go. I left looking great and feeling like a champ. If you're looking for a traditional barbershop in a really neat location definitely book an appointment!

Negative experience: I'll start off by saying that I have never visited this place before, but I know they have great reviews. So now I'll get to the point... I received a gift card a year and a half ago and have yet to use it. Then Covid-19 hit, which made it even more undesirable to go and use! So, now it's time to get a haircut and I thought that I would check them out. I jumped on their website to see if they were even open. Well they are, maybe I should check the balance on the card? Well, the numbers don't match? So I call them... I asked if their gift cards expire? Well guess what? They expire after 12 months! Some people can't even grow a beard long enough to have groomed in 12 months! So... I'm just sharing information, because no where on their gift card does it say "expires after 12 months"! The employee on the phone was very nice, but never asked how much was on the card or never offered to help me out in anyway! There goes 60 bucks down the drain!

Negative experience: Execution of my haircut was poor. Looked nothing like the picture I showed him or the requests I made. Random long pieces. Not blended. Much shorter than what I asked for. Used thinning shears at the scalp. I went home and fixed the cut in a three-way mirror. It’ll take two to three months to grow it into the shape I wanted. Not a good experience. I will give the barbershop a second chance, but will choose a different barber this time.

Fantastic experience: Fletcher Jacobs is the best barber I've ever seen. He is so consistent with his work. He is professional in every way. We talk and have great rapport. I would recommend Fletcher to anyone who wants a great haircut and great service.

Negative experience: So I scheduled an appt for 11:30 am today, and as I'm getting ready to leave the house our son has a freak accident getting off our trampoline. I figure I can drop off my wife and son at the Salt Lake Instacare on 9th East and still be relatively close to the barbershop although at this point I doubt I'm going to arrive on time. Obviously the thought occurred that I should give them a call, but that's not always what happens when you're dealing with a screaming and bleeding 8 year old. So I pull up and run in 8 minutes late. I fully understand that Carlos is a master of his craft and the haircut most likely isn't happening, but I figure maybe they can fit me in later today or tomorrow. What I didn't expect is that I was going to be completely cold shouldered when I got there. Apparently they've been trained to assume that if someone arrives late, they've done it just to spite their existence. Literally I was a ghost to these people for nearly 10 minutes like they had taken it personally. I've been coming here for over a year and was starting to feel like something of a regular, I've gotten cuts from a little over half the barbers here, I've recommended countless family and friends to get their hair cut here. Jason was literally five feet in front of me cutting someone's hair and did't even acknowledge my presence, not a nod, no eye contact, not a simple hi. Chad was in the back corner and didn't say a thing, and another women I'm unfamiliar with was also near the back cleaning up but wouldn't acknowledge my presence either. So I stood there twiddling my thumbs for nearly ten minutes when the woman finally came over to tell me what I already knew. I thought times were tough for barbershops during these times, but apparently these guys have it figured out to the point where even regulars are treated like strangers. But who knows, maybe I'm setting the bar too high to expect that I be greeted or acknowledged where I choose to spend my money.

Negative experience: Probably one of the worst cuts I have received since quitting the chain hair places. Had to go through and clean up some stray hairs, and reshave my sides. Could've saved $30 and done it myself. I am certain some of the barbers here care about their clients' hair, but mine just wanted a chat.

Fantastic experience: Katie Boyle has been my go to barber for years! I am in my early 20’s and always get a bald fade and nice trim on top. Katie not only surprised me with how well she did the bald fade but I always find it so easy to talk to her and explain in detail what and how I want my hair done. To this day I’ve never been disappointed with her performance, I can tell she’s a true professional. Can’t go wrong with Katie! I feel bad because the first day I met her I judged her for being a women thinking that at a barbershop she wouldn’t know how to do this millennials hair... but WOW was I wrong. Don't make the same mistake and lose out on her making you look like a million bucks! GO TO KATIE!

Positive experience: I decided to try Trolley Square Barbers for three reasons: 1. It's a locally owned business and I'd rather have the money I spend stay in the community I live in rather than going to a corporation located who knows where, 2. it is a true old school barber shop that does everything including straight razor cuts if you want, 3. you can walk right in, sit down in less than a minute and get a cut without having an app or being asked for all of your personal info that chain salons demand when you come in. I can't stand having to give over my personal data so that a chain salon can track me and sell my data. Fletcher did a great job cutting my hair and I plan on returning for my next cut.

Fantastic experience: Ami Stokes was very sweet, caring and took the time to talk with me and get to know each other. I've never had that experience before, it felt great and I've had some really bad experiences at barber shops. I highly recommend her and this barber shop for sure and I was late and she was so patient with me

Negative experience: First trip to the barber here and will be my last. They don't know and understand modern hair styles and how to cut semi longer hair. Granted the barber had only been cutting hair for a year, but should be no exception. I wanted to have my hair cleaned up in the back and he kept saying he needed to level it. Later when I got home I realized he shaved half of the back of my head it's so uneven and terrible looking. Unless it's combed over perfectly, and even then, it sticks out like a sore thumb because the rest of my hair is 6" long on top. Secondly, I left the place with hair all over my face and ears. It looks terrible and had to go to the bathroom after to clean up because he didn't do any of that there.

Fantastic experience: Always loved bringing my brother here but today talking to Amy I was about to get myself a geisha shave for woman!! I had mentioned to her I have had them before! She is a big asset to this place she took amazing care of me and is the nicest person ever! We drive a bit to get here but always treated so well it is worth it!

Fantastic experience: I've had haircuts from FLETCHER and he did an awesome job. He tried to understand what exactly I want with patience and at every step he shown me what he was doing. That actually help me to track my hairstyle. At the end he leave me happy with some styling tips.

Fantastic experience: The service here is second to none. It's nice to get a hot towel, hot cream and quality product. I am picky when it comes to allowing someone to trim my beard. I have been coming to Fletcher and he takes great care of me. I usually have him shave my head with a straight razor and clean my beard up. He's worth every penny. I was really surprised with how clean the shave job comes out. Most barbers miss a few hairs or knick the skin but not Fletcher. He takes his time and I walk out looking pretty sharp for an Irish guy. If you're reading this review, give him a try. This must be the men's equivalent to a spa treatment.

A couple weeks ago Dillon trimmed up my beard and did amazing with that as well.
