Negative experience: Normally this place is good but be careful going there on a Saturday. They are really busy so they seem to fill the chairs with anyone who claims to be a barber. I got a cut today from an older bald guy with an accent I couldn't place. Possibly middle eastern, that's irrelevant though point is the guy OBVIOUSLY has no training or experience whatsoever. I asked for the simplest of haircuts, a fade with a 1 on the side and a 6 on top and this guy gave me the worst most preposterous haircut I've ever seen on anyone. It's patchy, uneven, I asked him to leave my neck line natural and he decided to line it up anyway. Way too high and so crooked, I don't know if pissed this guy off somehow and this was his revenge but this guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing. VERY disappointing considering I've trusted these guys for years to cut my hair and they let someone with no skill or training butcher me. It was so bad when he handed me the mirror and asked how it was I just left. I wouldn't even begin to trust him to fix it and risk making it worse. Now off to a $50 barber to see if they can salvage. Be aware of the bald guy with glasses 3rd chair on the right when you walk in. He's probably on his 50's.

Negative experience: This place bills itself as a budget barber, and that used to be true. There used to be a large sign painted on the brick wall facing 7th East advertising six-dollar haircuts. Since then, the prices have been creeping up regularly such that they are approaching the prices of salons now. Today, I went in with twelve dollars in cash plus a five-dollar bill which I intended to give the barber as a tip. But then I immediately noticed a sign on the wall inside stating that the price of a haircut had increased to $15, which surprised me because the price had just recently increased to $12 from $8. But even $15 wasn't enough for the gal who had cut my hair, who rang up $20 at the till, explaining that it was being considered a specialty haircut because my hair had been longer than usual. (It was mostly covering my ears, which doesn't seem unusually long to me.) So the bottom line is that the price went from twelve dollars to twenty between this haircut and the last one I got there. That's a 60% increase within a matter of weeks. I didn't like that at all. Luckily, I did have a 20-dollar bill, so I gave her that along with two singles. She did a nice job on my hair, but I felt taken advantage of. I used to cut my own hair, and I think I'm probably going to go back to doing that now. Don't get me wrong. I recognize that barbers work hard to learn their trade and create customer satisfaction. But I haven't received a 60% increase in my wages recently to offset the sudden 60% increase in the price of a haircut.

We were on a journey looking for a barber to cut my husbands hair as he has Asian hair and once we found Cindy we have been loyal customers for more than a decade. She also trims our granddaughters hair and does the best job. I would recommend her to anyone, five stars to Cindy for sure❣️

Fantastic experience: Cindy M. has been cutting and coloring my hair for more years than I can remember. She knows exactly how I like it and does an excellent job. When I wanted a streak in my hair all I knew was it had to be green and left the details up to her. She sort of feathered it on one side and I absolutely love it. I’ve gotten many compliments and have referred several people to her. And the icing on the cake is she’s fun to visit with as she snips away!

Negative experience: Regrettably, I cannot believe how horribly this hair cut & beard trim went. The beard trim was lop-sided, lines were deep and uneven, trimmer lines throughout the beard. I had to run to another shop to try and salvage what is left of my beard shape. The one glimmer of hope for this shop: the pricing is attractive. I came here because my barber is out of town this week, and the reviews looked fine enough: I’ll go without a cut from now on if this is the other option.

Positive experience: The first time i came here had one of the best haircuts I've ever had. The second time i had one of the worst haircuts I've ever had.

The speed of the haircut (under 15 minutes!) was a definite plus. Beyond Diego's skill, the overall atmosphere of the barbershop is welcoming. The friendliness of the staff is immediately apparent, and it's clear that all the clients leave happy and satisfied. Management should seriously consider giving Diego a raise – he's a valuable asset! If you're looking for a great barbershop experience, look no further.

Negative experience: Worst haircut I’ve ever had, I provided pictures and the lady proceeded to completely ignore them and cut my hair in under 4min. I don’t even wanna look in the mirror….

He's incredibly kind, helpful, friendly, and thorough, and a great communicator, making the whole experience enjoyable. The shop has a really cool, old-fashioned 70s vibe, which I loved. Negative experience: I had went in there today and asked for a mid tapered fade and was charged $16 for the haircut. I didn't receive a medium tapered fade, instead she gave me a high tapered fade and missed a bunch of spots. Not only that, I was asked if she could cut my beard to be able to fade it into the haircut and I said that would be preferable and she didn't even do that. I wasn't happy with how I wasn't able to receive the cut I was asking for but it was probably due to the language barrier of her not being able to speak or understand English but I guess that's why they are so cheap. It's just hair and all but I figured I'd leave the review so thus doesn't happen to someone else and can possibly be prevented from happening again.

Positive experience: Very cute and dry barbershop. Cool local atmosphere and friendly staff. I can in because I saw they offered a straight razor w/ hot towel and hot cream. I came in, grabbed my number and sat down. When my number was called I was informed that nobody there actually does a straight shave anymore. It’s disappointing to see something on the menu and to not be able to get it. If this service was actually available e it would have been a 5 star experience.

"My go to spot" for an actual decent hair cut where they won't price gouge like most barbershop even tho they gotta work on the "Haircut" details a bit and make pricing a little clearer because a 12 dollar advertising can quickly be 25 dollars if you throw in things like fading and a line up or as some people call a shape-up. So be clear and ask what exactly does " 12 dollar" advertised price cover. Hey and I'm not saying don't visit I'm just saying ask questions so that you won't have any issues at the end of your cut or trim. I did overall have a great experience tho and my favorite barber to ask for is MR. DIEGO you will know its his seating area when you see all the photos of clients hair that he cuts ✂️. He will be on the right side when entering but call ahead because he is not always available but worth the wait because he clearly ask what exactly you want and helps you sculpt your hair masterpiece so go see your boy and test his skills. Positive experience: Great $6, now $10 oh, now $12 haircut (Tip you're barber!) Love the old school feel. Rows and rows of barber chairs. Take a number, but they get to you quick. You can wait for your favorite barber but most do a pretty good job. If you're looking for a fancy updated barber shop, go to the mall, but if you want a fast and cheap haircut, come here.

Negative experience: Very, very disappointing. The "barber" was curt and abrasive. She had the audacity to blend one side of my hair and end the session. I had to inform her that I actually wanted the other side done and for it to look the same. The edging is sharp on the left and looks wonky on the right. You get exactly what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: The lady that cuts my hair is same one I use every cut. They all can cut hair well. I have had all cut my hair at least once. Well worth $10. Don't forget to tip the stylist , if they did a good job on the haircut ! $5 tip is well worth it !

Fantastic experience: I will not go anywhere else to have my hair cut. Every barber I have had was nice, and then you end up getting your own barber and it’s great. 11/10, cannot recommend enough. Sometimes the line can be longer and sometimes it is short, but that’s the experience of it all. I love it. It’s also only 10 dollars a haircut so I highly encourage tipping, they deserve it.

Fantastic experience: Very nice haircut for an economy rate. Maybe I just showed up at good time and day , and not that I'd mind waiting, but not much of a wait at all.

Positive experience: Best haircut value in town, only $10. No frills "down and dirty" environment, but these barbers are as good or better than the high overhead shops.

Fantastic experience: It's a walk-in barbershop where you take a number and wait for the next available barber. The cost is $10 for a basic cut, $14 for the fades. The cost is kept low so that you will tip the barber according to how well they did. I tip mine $10 so my total cost was $20. That is half of what other places charge for the cut alone and it was a great haircut. I recommend this place, but don't forget to leave a generous tip.

Negative experience: Asked for a razor shave, but surprisingly just got a very rough treatment with three different shaving machines. I cannot recommend this place.

Negative experience: 1 star because although I've had a few good haircuts here, the attitude of one woman (erratic, bad body smell, not paying attention to haircut) has led me to reconsider patronizing this barbershop. Lady, if you're reading this, either learn to do your job or leave and stop deceiving customers. And get a breath mint. Thank Goodness for your colleagues who were able to fix the haircut. Definitely not coming here again soon.

Fantastic experience: In terms of value, the haircuts are normally incredibly good for the price. It will vary depending on the barber you get, but overall there's a good chance you'll get a similar quality haircut for 1/3 the price here as other places in SLC. I come here often to keep my sides shorts and trim the top without spending a ton of money per year.

I'm not dedicated to any one barber and get a different person every time, but still every haircut I get is fantastic! Also this place has really good prices. Positive experience: You get what you pay for. It's an incredible value but don't expect high quality hair cuts. I had a great cut on my first visit. My second cut was patchy and and uneven. I gave it another chance yesterday and again got a patchy and uneven cut. I'll pay a bit more to get a more reliable hair cut elsewhere. This is probably a great place if you just need a very simple cut without scissors, but for me (men's medium length hair) it was unreliable.

Stylist often would ask for our inputs to confirm with BOTH mom and child of our personal preferences throughout the progress of the cut, assuring customer satisfaction. Pricing is most cuts starting at $10. Fair and reasonable Mohawk Cut for us on this visit was $14. I was drawn in to this location because of it's barber shop atmosphere. They even offer hot shaves which I believe to be a luxury not many places have as available service. One thing to know before going is they accept CASH ONLY and they close at 5:30 PM.

Fantastic experience: Saw the $10 sign and thought we'd give it a try. Fast, got right in and cuts went quickly. Diego did a great job for me. The lady who cut my son's hair didn't listen to him and cut it shorter than he wanted. Overall a great value here, glad there are places like this around when the cost of everything is up.

Negative experience: Edit Feb 7 2022: Fay is no longer the barber she once was... Today she racially profiled me as another customer that wasn't happy with her haircuts and refused service to me... Even though prior in this review I said positive things about her... This was the first time I've ever experienced something like this in Utah... I will not be going to dollar barber again... Diego is still a stellar barber he does house calls... I wouldn't recommend this location anymore...I don't even know how to feel about that situation it just feels terrible... Fantastic experience: The quality of your cut will depend on your barber and preferences, but the overall establishment is a blessing for those on a budget. Cuts are currently at $10 each (December 2021) and all the barbers are attentive. The wait can get long at peak hours, but there's ample seating while you wait.

Fantastic experience: I just moved to the state and needed a clean-up after I got my hair dyed. I thought I'd give this place a try after seeing the reviews. I asked for a 1 to 2 fade on the sides with a side part on top. I received exactly what I asked for, and they managed to keep almost all my dyed hair. For $10 with tons of friendly conversations, I will surely be going back.

Negative experience: There first time i came here the lady who cut my hair did a fantastic job I wanted to go with her again but I had to take a number and i got another barber but this time my hair was not how I wanted to be! I told her that i wanted a fade starting with zero and she just cut my sides with a zero and it was not a fade

Negative experience: Got there And was greeted by a woman who was not ready to cut hair. She went to her car multiple times for clippers. Upon cutting my hair I had to remind her mutlitimes about the cut.she also used dull equipyand did not Get the cut right at all. She insisted that it looked great, but it does not. I was nicked multiple times and she had shaky hands that left spots on my head. Not a fan even for the price you're better off going to somewhere else
