Fantastic experience: I never expected to have the experience I did last weekend at Jed’s. The friendliness and level of service went far beyond anything I could have imagined. Every single staff member made me feel genuinely welcomed, and I only wish I could remember all their names so I could thank them personally. What an incredible team. Five stars does not seem adequate. It was my first visit, but it absolutely won’t be my last. I’m already looking forward to coming back and bringing my son with me. I have no doubt he’s going to love it just as much as I did.

Negative experience: Emerald butchered my hair and reeked like reefer. Will not return.

Fantastic experience: My haircut was with, the very talented, Sean. Fantastic! A barber who listens to what you want, makes sure he has it right and then cuts and styles to perfection. I rarely give 5 stars, the Golden Buzzer, but Sean earned it.

Fantastic experience: Sean did a great job on my fade and beard trim. The hot towel and massage was a great bonus!

Negative experience: Gone here for almost 7-8 years now. Getting the same haircut every time. Not sure what’s going on but whether I show pictures or spend longer describing what I want it’s like it’s in one ear and out the other. I’ve had poor experiences the last 3 times. Sorry but not going back anymore. The lady today says “ya I’m not sure I know how to do that” when it came to doing a 1 around the ears?!

Negative experience: Had a years worth of growth and went in for a mullet. She asked if it was OK to trim the back a bit, and I'm thinking a TRIM. She cut off at least 3 or 4 inches of curls. the pictures show how I walked out of the shop. 51 dollars because I got a wash with it, plus I was so surprised and mad I went on auto pilot and left a 20 cash tip (that's my bad haha.) I've been using jeds for years and they've always done a decent fade and shave, but this time I was left looking like a 3 year old tried to make me look pretty while I napped on the couch. No fade, choppy, weird anti mullet. I had to shave my head a few hours later.

Negative experience: The worst haircut I've ever had. I explained how i've just grown my hair out over the last year . I only wanted a trim and to mostly clean up my sides. The lady took so much off, more than I said. I can't style in anyway i like it. Genuinely gutted that I have to wait and grow it out to feel good about my hair again.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Deanna twice now, and every single time she kills it. I’m not the best at explaining exactly what I want with my hair, but somehow, she just gets it. She reads my style, plays around with ideas, and creates something that ends up looking even better than I imagined. It’s seriously insane how good she is. Everyone at Jed’s is clearly talented, but Deanna stands out in such a special way. She has an effortless sense of style and attention to detail that makes you feel like you’re in the best hands. Every time I get out of the chair, I’m not just happy—I’m stunned in the best way. It’s not just a haircut, it’s a whole upgrade. I’ll 100% be booking with her again. Thank you, Deanna, for making me feel confident and fresh every time!

Fantastic experience: Great local barber shop if you want to get your hair cut same day. You can walk in, but it’s best to call and get your name on the list as there is often a small wait. They also have complimentary sodas in a retro fridge.

Fantastic experience: Great hair cut experience, and get a nice cold drink on the house with your cut. I’m happy stylist/barbers here take their time. Also, was great to work with the receptionist in scheduling my appointment… hassle free experience.

Negative experience: Look what she did my sons hair and had the Audacity to ask an 11-year-old if he likes it my son said oh yes, just to not hurt her feelings but was crying afterwards

Negative experience: Definitely not going back to this place. Fabian cut my hair, I asked for a burst fade show him a pic of what I wanted, which i thought would be enough for him to do what i asked, homeboy gave me totally a different haircut than what I wanted, with that being said homeboy gave me a Mohawk cut which I didn’t even like it , on top of that I paid $35 for my beard but still didn’t he didn’t even do a good job. I ended up wasting $77 on haircut and beard such a joke

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to jeds for about 5 years now. I needed a new barber after my old one retired. I met Deanna and have been seeing her ever since. She does a fantastic job. Everyone in the shop is super nice.

Positive experience: Took my son in today and got my hair touched up. Kiddo had fun and my fade is solid. Wish you guys did just a touch up vs charging for a full cut but I get it.

Negative experience: Super bummed! I really wanted a barbershop quality cut! My barber was sweet. But didn’t have the skill set. I asked for a bald fade and a line up. And she wasn’t able to do it. Said she wasn’t certified to use a straight razor on the front. Not her fault. I didn’t get a bald fade and could tell she didn’t feel comfortable. I hate saying this because I wanted it to be a good experience. But I genuinely feel like I got ripped off. I felt uncomfortable in the chair and just felt like a someone very inexperienced was giving me a $5 cut. And I paid over $50. Wouldn’t recommend to a friend :(

Fantastic experience: Been coming here sporadically since 2019. Always friendly and consistent haircuts high quality which is hard to find if you don’t have a dedicated barber. I’m leaving this review because Melayna was extremely helpful and professional in helping me schedule my haircut. I have an important event and rather than lying to me she was professional and honest about how much time I have to get my hair cut. Getting my haircut tomorrow - but want to leave this review in advance. It is extremely rare to have that kind of thoughtful and helpful customer service in SLC. Most either lie to your face or don’t make the extra effort to accommodate convenience. She even made sure i would be paired with the right barber given my hair style preference. She is an all star.

Positive experience: This has been the only barber shop I've been to in SLC. The way I've been treated has not made me look for another place. The staff is always friendly and they have free complimentary drinks. Appointments are a must, so book on time.

Fantastic experience: I scheduled an appointment online with the Downtown Jed's. The staff was delightful. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. They checked me in immediately and within minutes I was in the chair. Racheal was outstanding. She gave me a perfect hair cut and beard trim. Fast, efficient and very professional.

Fantastic experience: Deanna is the best barber I’ve had. I have gone to her for 5 or 6 years. I’d recommend her 100% of the time. Now, I did have one bad experience. I did go to someone else when Deanna wasn’t there, and it was horrible. Worst cut I’ve had in a long time. I tried reaching out by phone, and called three times about it. The person answering said they couldn’t hear me each time so I contacted through their online form for contact and no one ever got back to me about that situation. That was disappointing, but I leave 5 stars cause Deanna is the best by a long shot of any barber I’ve had in my life.

Fantastic experience: Awesome!! First experience going to a barber so you could call me a "noob" in this field. But, compare this to any great clips or super clips and it would BLOW it out of the water. They treat you so good and the employees are great! On your first time they give you a scalp massage with shampoo and conditioner then they give you a shoulder massage. For that reason alone you should go. The haircut itself was one of the best I'd had. Dollar for dollar, you're going to get more from this place compared to other locations around the area. Take my word for it boys. Ps they give you a free old school soda for free.

Prices are decent. I love the decor. The free vintage soda... I believe it's locally made? It's delicious and we don't normally drink soda. They are always pretty poppin, so making an appointment is best.

Fantastic experience: Audri was Incredible. I have bizarre hair patterns and difficultly styling, but she took the time to reset everything for how my hair naturally wants to work. The atmosphere of this place was wonderful, and free drinks! Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

Negative experience: I didn’t feel welcomed nor did I think the “barber” cutting my hair was experienced. When you’re not experienced, you should take your time, hone in on your skills, and pay close attention to detail and precision. I was given a haircut by the manager who, after uncomfortable small talk, gave me a subpar haircut at best. I get a simple haircut; 1-2 blended in and a trim on the top, and it was what I wanted; however, it was rushed, sloppy, and uneven. Bottom tier cut from a bottom tier place. I don’t recommend it.

Fantastic experience: One of the best barbers shop in the salt Lake area. I have been there couple times and had my haircut and beard trim by most of barbers there. All of them do a really nice job, but last time I went Tabitha did my haircut and is really talented. I would definitely recommend doing your haircut with her.

Fantastic experience: Jed's is the coolest most convenient place for a beard trim or cut. I recently moved away and was in town after nearly a year. When I went in for a beard trim, my girl Alex greeted me like a long lost friend. Great service, great atmosphere, awesome attitudes, and free soda. You'll like it. I guarantee it.

Fantastic experience: It Is a great, retro themed, barber shop. It has quaity service with nice barbers. There are classic arcade games to keep you intertaned while waiting. They offer free drinks after the cut and I always come out looking fresh as ever. Only complaint is that sometimes the wait is a bit long, but most of the time it is walk in and get cut

Negative experience: Not the Jed’s location to visit. I won’t be back to this one, and will only go to the Sugarhouse location in the future. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 2, and even with three barbers working and only two waiting in front of me, I didn’t get into the chair until 3. Unlike the sugarhouse Jed’s, they don’t have video games or anything of that sort to entertain you here, so my wife and I twiddled our thumbs for an hour. I also specifically asked the barber not to cut my cowlick, and I carefully pointed out where it was and explained why I didn’t want her to cut it, and she cut it anyway — now it doesn’t lay down. Love the Jed’s in Sugarhouse, but this one was a dud. Two of the three barbers that were working took their breaks at the same time, which led me to think that they weren’t heavily invested in customer service since those of us waiting had been sitting there for an hour.

Fantastic experience: Place is good. Nice staff, nice atmosphere. Tabitha spruced me up real nice! Haven’t found many barbers that can cut curly hair well or take the time to do a good job, she did. Will be back

Fantastic experience: Mikail is the best hairdresser I’ve ever had! I don’t know what style I want and I’m not the most specific. My hair is difficult and she knows what to do and how to style it to get the image I want. I would rate Jeds a 10 out of 5

Fantastic experience: My son and I have been going to the good folks at Jed's for years. They're all super friendly people who also happen to be excellent and attentive barbers. They're knowledgeable about stylings and products without even a whiff of pushiness. We especially love Tabitha, who's the most consistently excellent barber I've ever been to. She's also just a super friendly person who I genuinely enjoy catching up with. A huge pro as a dad is how effortlessly she handles kids cuts with patience. My son is always excited when I tell him we're getting haircuts.

Fantastic experience: Andrea has cut my hair for a couple of months now and the quality of her work is impeccable! I am very picky about my hair and she asked all the right questions, and was meticulous about checking to make sure I was satisfied. I love how clean and easy going the atmosphere at the shop is and all of the barber's seem very professional. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants a really great cut and a true barbershop experience.

Fantastic experience: Jeds has recently become my go to barber. They have done a great job every single time I have gone. I really like the ambiance that decor gives off during my 30 minutes of head massage/relaxation time and the free sodas are the cherry on top. Madi was my most recent barber and she was so helpful. We discussed what I want and she helped me understand how my hair works and the different options I have. She did an excellent job and was truly the nicest barber I have ever had in my life. I think she deserves a raise Thanks Jeds for the best service I could ask for.

Fantastic experience: I have trusted Jed’s with my mane for seven years and have never been disappointed by their attention to service. In the shop today I felt very safe with all of the precautions they are upholding. Tabitha was amazing as always. She knows her craft, and beyond that is efficient and plans ahead so that you don’t just look and feel great waking out, but continue to for weeks!

Fantastic experience: Always have a great experience here. A free glass bottle soda when ya get there! Only waited a long time once when I had a preferred barber chosen and a few people ahead of me but wasnt their fault. Long story short great place to get a fresh cut.

Negative experience: Worst barber shop ever. My first time going and got the worst barber ever. Blew through the haircut so quickly that I was even lined up correctly in the back and have uneven fade lines. I would rather shave my whole head bald and start fresh then walk around with this terrible haircut. Any place is better than this.

Fantastic experience: My favorite barbershop in Salt Lake City. They have very high standards for their barbers, great music, and of course their famous sodas. My kids usually hate haircuts but they're always happy to come to Jed's. They also always have people on hand that can handle a straight razor and they finish every cut with a sort of vibrating back massage thing that's just the best. My barber was telling me that she's travelled several years with Jed's to teach English to children in Mexico. It makes for great stories from great people.

Fantastic experience: Good vines in the awesome atmosphere. Barbers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the barbershop as well as the products in the store.

Positive experience: Good Haircuts for a reasonable price. Wait times can be a little long depending on the time of day, so I would call ahead to make sure you can get in. I've had three haircuts with three different people, some are very personable and enjoy talking, some are very quite but get the job done fast and well. Oh! And the free soda is a nice perk if you do get stuck waiting around for a bit.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, great cuts at a great price (and I'm willing to pay a bit more now as the stylists and staff get health care benefits!) hair care products are sold at a fair price, and finally, Kaylee is a fantastic stylist, and a wonderful person!

Positive experience: Great place barbers are nice but they do charge a premium for their hair cuts. They are good but I only go to them in a pinch because the wait can be quite long and the price is a little high compared to other "hipster barbers".

Fantastic experience: Jed's is a great barber shop. I've gotten some of the best hair cuts here. All the barbers have been very nice and personable, and above all do a great job. And you get a soda at the end.

Positive experience: Service is high quality and the barbers are well-training. For someone who doesn't know anything about style or hair, their barbers do well to find the best cut for you. However, the 'call-ahead' system is hit and miss. Jed's only takes walk-ins, sometimes wait times are good or tolerable often they're crazy long. Would give them five stars if I'd be able schedule my haircut in advance instead of poking around for wait times.
