Negative experience: This place used to be awesome, I’m not sure what’s changed over the past year, but it sucks now. Not even the service (though it’s felt very burn and churn the past few cuts), it’s how their schedule works. I work most days and cannot call to set up appointments so I have always utilized the online appointment maker. Not once now but twice, there has been an issue and they can’t see me, or that person isn’t here now or something like that. Again. I’m very busy so when I find the time for cuts, I want to get them when they are scheduled. This is so frustrating. Not only have you lost my membership, but you’ve lost my service completely.
Devin, I sincerely apologize. No excuse on our end, we screwed up and I understand your frustration. I know you're turned off to us, but would love to provide some complimentary services, even though you're choosing to go elsewhere. It's the least we can do.

Outside of this small issue i had no problems. Everyone was friendly and it was a wonderful experience. Negative experience: In the year that my husband has been going there has been 7 manager changes. Often times the changes bring mass lay offs of the staff. He hasn’t had the same stylist twice. Tired of the constant changing, afraid that this is a sign of a very toxic workplace.

Negative experience: This used to be an amazing shop with a fun atmosphere, the wonderful and friendly stylist would treat us well and laugh and have good conversations. But now there is a new manager and when you walk in the atmosphere is dark and cold, Shondai the new manager is cruel and harsh just cause we laugh and is calling the wonderful stylist/ barber unprofessional. I will no longer come here as long as she is here. Everyone is wonderful except for her, once she is gone i know the shop will be great again.

Negative experience: They cancelled my appointment for being literally a minute late. Not to mention they cancelled my appointment a minute before the 5 min window they supposedly give you. Idgaf about a company with a policy as cheap as that. These people can be up to 10-15 minutes late when cutting you, but I can't be a minute late? The hell with that, I've seen better customer service at a 3am IHOP service

Negative experience: DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE: Unprofessional Management at Hammer & Nails Frisco Rarely does one encounter an establishment so fervently devoted to undermining its own brand reputation as Hammer & Nails Frisco. As a commercial real estate professional with substantial experience in customer service expectations, I found the management’s approach here nothing short of shocking, confirming many of the worst negative reviews that populate Google and employee feedback forums (feel free to research yourself…). Further, and from a long-time franchisee myself, let this stand as a wake-up call to the franchise owner—if you care at all about the longevity and credibility of this business, immediate intervention is mandatory. --The Core Problem: Emotion-Driven Management-- I visited in June '25 with a gift card. The haircuts are subpar, but acceptable for the price. I got a membership to save $20/month but decided to cancel after a particularly poor cut (the last one...). Timeline: 10/21/25 - Submitted cancellation online; received "request received" message but no confirmation email 10/23/25 - No response after 2 business days. Called repeatedly—no answer, just an unhelpful bot 10/25/25 (AM) - Still no response after 5 business days, so I went in-person. Receptionist couldn't cancel and texted "the manager," promising to call that day 10/25/25 (7pm) - Never received the promised call. After 8 attempts and 10 minutes on hold, receptionist groaned that her manager was "in the hospital" and froze my account, promising the manager would call Monday 10/27/25 (8:30am) - Manager (April??) called irate, stating "your account is canceled and you're on a 'not to reinstate' list because you were rude to my receptionist." When I attempted to respond, she spoke over me saying "I just lost my baby this weekend and was in the hospital!" WHAAAAT!?!? This was deeply unprofessional—using personal circumstances as justification for poor customer treatment and weaponizing tragedy to guilt clients. At no point is this acceptable management behavior. FURTHER, what type of management asks a store manager to come to work Monday, after she lost a child a day before Makes no sense... --A Pattern, Not an Anomaly-- Research reveals my experience isn't isolated: Employee Reviews: On Indeed, Hammer & Nails scores 1.9/5 overall with management rated 1.0/5. Frisco employees cite "abuse this company puts on their employees" and management that's "very rude and condescending." One reviewer: "could have had a barber for life, but I'll never go back." Systemic Failures: Multiple locations report "overly micromanaging, lack of support," with managers who "aren't clear of their expectations," causing talented professionals to leave. Toxic Culture: Multiple sources describe management who "talk about employees badly." One reviewer noted owners with "zero experience" were hired as friends—"basically they hire bartenders and dancers to manage a luxury place." Billing Issues: While I haven't experienced this personally, multiple customers report being charged after canceling, with management refusing refunds. Reddit documents cases where managers admitted to "intentionally stealing" through continued billing. --The Bottom Line-- No franchise selling itself as "luxury" can survive when managed by the whims and insecurities of its leadership. Until these failures are addressed, Hammer & Nails Frisco serves as an example of exactly how NOT to treat customers.

Negative experience: Downgrading from prior five star. After having great experiences at this hammer & Nails location (Frisco) for a couple years, there seems to have been a shift. Previously, I was happy with stylists that cut my hair. They were all personable and the place felt upscale and welcoming. However, over the past ~three months or so, there seems to have been a shift (I'm writing this Oct 2025). The stylists that I had really enjoyed seeing are no longer there and the new batch seems to change with every visit. The atmosphere seems weighty and sad. There is very little camaraderie or conversation. Overall, it no longer has that upscale vibe that I really enjoyed. I've decided to cancel my membership for now. But when I went in to do so, the person at the desk said that the manager would need to reach out to me before I could cancel. I also submitted a request to cancel online. Two weeks later, I had not received a call from the manager. I called again and had to be a bit insistent that I would contest the charge if I was billed after giving them notice. I am no longer a subscriber, but I may try back in a few months. I hope they are able to return the place to its prior form, as I really enjoyed going there.
Fantastic experience: Went in for the first timers pedicure treatment. Felt wonderful I almost hated putting my shoes back on.

Negative experience: Used to love coming here, but this place has really gone downhill. A few of the great stylists I trusted are gone and it seems like there’s been a lot of turnover. My last visit with David was disappointing he seemed checked out the entire time, and almost forgot the complimentary wash until I reminded him. His reaction was, “Oh, you wanted the wash?” which honestly summed up the experience. The haircut itself just wasn’t good. It looked uneven and awkward enough that I wanted to come back to get it fixed. I scheduled another appointment and drove 30 minutes but when I got stuck in traffic and was 8 minutes late, they called just to cancel it because “there wouldn’t be enough time.” I won’t be coming back.
We’re truly sorry to hear about this experience, especially after you’d been a loyal guest in the past. Losing your trust is something we take seriously.
What you described regarding your service, the missed wash, and the quality of the haircut is not acceptable and falls short of our standards. We also understand how frustrating it is to make the effort to return, especially after a long drive—only to have your appointment canceled.

Negative experience: Had to wait 15 min. For my apt. Bit they tell a customer you can not be late. I was hurt 3 times by the young lady that kept apologizing tvs go out above you. The ladies that have no customers in the hands and foot room keep slamming drawers etc. Not carrying about the others.

Negative experience: This place is going downhill fast. many of the good barbers and stylists are now gone, new receptionist every time i am in , no hospitality, whatsoever.. I've signed up for premium services to only get classic treatment several times now. I've had multiple times of not being offered a drink. new people don't know the products/offerings and don't seem to care. I will be cancelling once i run out of credits.

Negative experience: I felt taken care of from the time I walked through the door to the time I left. From the front desk to the pedicure itself, the experience was amazing. Prices are truly reasonable as well. Highly recommend and this will be my regular pedicure spot for the future. Edit: Service is slowly dropping off. Front desk people are turning over, people do not know who you are, no one goes the extra mile anymore, and artists seem stressed out. I'm quickly coming to the realization something has changed and I may need to seriously consider reevaluating my membership that increased in price for worse service.

I only learned of her separation as she reached out to let me know she would not be available at the time we had previously arranged. Management assumed I would just accept whomever they sat me with. The front desk agreed to cancel my appointment. 10mins later my card was charged for the cancelation at 50% of the cost of services. When I called to ask WTH? I was told this was their policy. They broke the contract with me by not informing me they had terminated my stylist. This is not the way to treat a consistent customer. Patronize this business with caution! Now to find a new place!

Negative experience: Booked an appointment today. Arrived on time. Twenty minutes past the appointed time I had to ask why there was a delay. No one mentioned an issue the entire time I sat there. A very friendly and professional employee said she would fulfill the appointment if I could wait until she finished a haircut. Unacceptable. When I tried to find contact information for the company online all I could find is a way to inquire about a franchise. Companies should always have clear contact information on how you can reach them if there was an issue.

Negative experience: Hard to find something good to say about my haircut experience. I am trying to find a new person after moving, and the search continues. My prior guy spent 45 min to an hour on my hair and charged $45. The woman who cut my hair here spent about 10 min (and another 20 talking about herself and giving a drink to another employee's boyfriend). The craziest part is I was supposed to have 45 minutes of service as a new customer. I was so underwhelmed by the haircut immediately after but have at least figured out how to make it look manageable with lots of product. The top is uneven and my part is just messy. The whole tour of the place is just silly, and I ended up waiting for almost half an hour for the manicure I booked after. The one positive was that the manicure woman was great and did a very thorough job. No, I will not be signing up for a membership!

The Service Provider was very knowledgeable, very cheerful and explained every step of the procedures. I was very satisfied with her work. The atmosphere is great. I feel blessed to have found a place for these services in a very relaxing atmosphere.

Two CAPTCHAs just to proceed, followed by a literal three-minute countdown to enter my credit card info—just to reserve a basic service. Felt like pressure tactics, not hospitality. Thinking it might be a website quirk, I called to ask. Nope. They confirmed this is their policy: no appointment without a card on file. It’s clear this business prioritizes protecting itself over creating a welcoming, client-centered experience. For comparison, I called The Gent’s Place—no card required unless your service is over $100. Much more reasonable. I’ll be going there instead

Fantastic experience: Having not had a haircut in 20 plus years I was a little nervous about losing the pony tail! Ashley made me very comfortable and listened to what I wanted. More Importantly she listened to what I didn't want. She was personable and upbeat and easy to be around. I appreciated her work and enjoyed the experience. Would highly recommend.
Positive experience: The service and quality of service is 2nd to none. Ashely and N'Dia are top of class. The only issue is with the HVAC system in the building. It seems to low on capacity or Freon. It's muggy and hot in the facility at different spots.

Super clean fade, great attention to detail, and she really took the time to get it just right. On top of being a pro with the clippers, she’s got a great personality and made the whole experience fun, specially if you’re into karaoke like she is! Highly recommend booking with her. Fantastic experience: My dad had a great experience with Nia. She was very gentle with arthritis and did a great job on his pedicure.
Negative experience: sarah gave me a haircut and i didn’t get what i asked for. i thought that going here i would finally get the haircut i asked for but that was not the case. i asked her to trim a little bit and make everything even, but i ended up with a mullet?? and my hair much much shorter. waste of money honestly.
Fantastic experience: First visit. Everyone was great and very professionsl. I had Sara who was great. She did exactly what I asked and made sure I got a tour of the favility. I will return. Made the appointment before I keft.

Negative experience: One of the worst experiences I had with this brand and location. I have booked “first time special haircut” which was marketed as 45 min service with cut, shampoo, conditioning amd scalp massage. The stylist was so in rushed and she completed service in just 20 mins without scalp massage nor after shave massage with additional bread service too. I felt like they are so much into selling memberships only and don’t care about the experience which they are advertising. During first 5 mins I expressed that I want to trim my beared as well, as she was aware I am the first time and not sure how all services are bundled she agreed and at the end came to surprise she added full beard service of 45 mins addition of 50$ alone and she was interesting to mention receptionist that make sure he added right services so she got incentives accordingly. Definitely not recommending. I have not added Stylish name purposely, if owners/manager wants to know more they can reach out to me and happy to provide feedback with name.

Fantastic experience: Shondai did an amazing job on my haircut. Its always a little nerve wracking when going to someone new for a fade. Shindig was friendly and put me at ease right away. The service was also great and the whole vibe was welcoming. I'll definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: I really didn’t get the full experience just yet, I booked my appointment last minute and just got a quick Haircut and Manicure . So I don’t want to get too excited, just yet . However I must say even with the short notice The Manicure Technician NIA was really pleasant and peaceful and made me feel really relaxed and taken care of .. 5 stars for her , also the Barber ASHLEY 5 stars for her she did a really great job tending to my tangled hair.. the shampoo and conditioning service felt amazing and she did a wonderful job with a razor .. Thank you to both of the ladies that serviced me today .. I will definitely be back for the full experience, and I’m pretty sure I won’t be disappointed !! Shout out to the Shop Manager Keith for the the Whisky on ice upon arrival!! I love this place already

Negative experience: I truly appreciate the excellent ambiance, as well as the professionalism and courteousness of the staff. The setting was relaxing, and the service was conducted with care. However, I was not particularly impressed with the actual facial massage provided. A proper facial massage involves more than just applying a facial scrub and using a hot towel. While those are standard steps, a comprehensive facial treatment should also include: • Deep Massage Strokes: Targeted pressure techniques to stimulate circulation, relieve muscle tension, and enhance skin elasticity. • Thorough Exfoliation: A well-executed exfoliation process to remove dead skin cells, refine texture, and promote skin renewal. • Effective Extraction: Proper removal of whiteheads and blackheads, which is essential for a deep-cleansing facial experience. Men’s facial massages require specialized attention, considering factors such as thicker skin, increased oil production, and potential issues like ingrown hairs. A refined technique incorporating these elements would have made the session much more effective and satisfying. I would love to see an improved approach that aligns with a more complete facial massage experience. Looking forward to trying the service again if these refinements are considered

Positive experience: It's hard to find someone who cuts your hair just the way you want it. I went through three different people until I found Jesse. She's friendly, professional, and got it right the first time. I was considering canceling my membership until I found her. Jesse is awesome, and I highly recommend her.

If you want a great haircut see Erica and if she isn't available the rest of the stylists there do a great job too, have had a haircut by all of them. And the complimentary drink helps the day out too!

Fantastic experience: I love my membership with Hammer and Nails. It's a very welcoming place and the staff is amazing (shout out to Max!)! I enjoy the nice selection of premium spirits (anejo tequila and excellent bourbons). The membership is the best value around because you can pick any service, not just the haircut. Speaking of haircuts, I've been working with Olivia on creating a cool, but classic style and I appreciate her attention to detail and customizing her suggestions to line up with my preference. Overall a very friendly vibe, with cool people who know their stuff.
Fantastic experience: The hair style (high and tight flat top) is not a common style I have luck finding somebody to do. She did an amazing free hand cut. Also I think his name is was Max at the front desk who was very personable and had all the information I was asking about. He also takes a lot of pride on where he works. He shines very bright
Fantastic experience: This was the first time I had a professional beard trimming, and LeighAnne was amazing! First, Max gave me a full tour of the facilities (arrive early if you want a tour!) but then LeighAnne talked me through everything, constantly making sure I was comfortable and knew what was coming next. And my beard has never looked better!
