Fantastic experience: I stopped into Barber Shop Co in Mt Maunganui today (while visiting on a cruise ship) and honestly had one of the best barbershop experiences I’ve ever had. I was only in Mt Maunganui for the day and short on time, but Jackie fit me in and absolutely delivered. The haircut and beard trim were spot on — sharp, neat, super professional, and exactly what I was after. What really stood out was the level of care and attention to detail. Jackie went above and beyond with beard oil, two hot towels for both my face and head, and an incredibly relaxing head and neck massage. It felt like much more than just a haircut — it was a full grooming experience. You can tell he takes real pride in his work and genuinely cares about his customers. The service, skill, and attention to detail was outstanding. Honestly, I only wish Barber Shop Co was in Sydney — I’d be there every week without hesitation. If you’re in Mt Maunganui and need a quality barber, I highly recommend Jackie and the team. Easily one of the best barber experiences I’ve had anywhere. Go there and experience it for yourself! Fantastic experience: Came in with my 16 month old to get his first haircut and the service was outstanding! I didn’t catch the barbers name but he was from Indonesia. With have such a young toddler he was working with us and helping making sure our son wasn’t scared. Would 100 percent recommend coming to this barber shop with your little ones! Absolutely beautiful service.

Fantastic experience: I was in port on a Princess cruise and got a great cut from Bill. Though I had to wait through the system where I went in and had to join the cue and eventually get an email alert (phone number wouldn’t work in their system), it was efficient and was worth the wait!

Fantastic experience: Been coming here a good while now and it’s excellent value for money. The barbers are all friendly and attentive, shoutout to Jackie who is the best in my opinion. I’m always a little disappointed if I don’t get him, he always looks professional and very good at his job, is friendly and will chat, but doesn’t get distracted and always does excellent work. The establishment is clean and inviting. My only criticisms would be the app is not available on the Uk App Store (not sure about other regions), and I’m not a fan of getting email notifications. I usually just go in in-person, and join the queue manually. However, the estimated wait times are often shorter than the actual wait time. Perhaps the ownership should increase the average est. wait times so the barbers have more leeway and don’t have to rush. The free razor blade thing at the till comes off a little bit scammy too, not a fan of that. Overall, a great establishment with excellent , friendly staff. Highly recommend to anyone in the area, or those coming in off the cruise ships.

My first impressions when I meet Jackie and got settled in gave me the impression straight away that this was going to be a great cut . And I was not disappointed! Excellent zero fade, followed by one of the best beard trim and shape up Ive had in a while. ( for those of us out there who have good beards and take pride in them.its a big thing to let them be played with by new people). Negative experience: "I walked into this place for the first time, and within seconds, I was met with an unfriendly and unhelpful attitude. As soon as I entered, the staff member abruptly asked if I had 'put my name into the system.' When I asked for clarification, she simply said, 'It's really easy, just go over there and do it,' without any further guidance. I stood there confused, looking around, with no clear instructions or signs to follow. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer, and the whole interaction left a bad impression. I get that it might have been the end of the day for her, but a little bit of patience and a friendly approach would have gone a long way. Instead, I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. If you're looking for a welcoming experience, I’d recommend finding a place with better customer service."

Negative experience: The guy cutting my hair didn’t listen to what I said to do he thinned my hair on the top way to much without even asking if I want it thinned which I didn’t and he cut the front of my hair so high after saying if I want it just above my eyebrow didn’t even listen to what I said I wanted. The guy also made my front uneven and made it look like there’s a gap in the middle didn’t even understand what I was saying
