Positive experience: My January cut is always in need of a deep cut. He was quick - and obviously skilled. But I had to ask to take more off, and even then he didn’t take much. Looks fine, and he clearly is an experienced barber, but I will need to get another cut in a couple of weeks. I would have paid more if it took more time. Stepped away from my chair to coach another barber a few times which I thought showed professionalism and care for the service provided. Three chairs were all full when I left.

Negative experience: Driving past any Barber shop you'd expect to go there and get a trim. Doesn't happen here. You must phone and book. I was very disappointed. We went to Bladez Barbers opposite them and spent $125 there. I will go there again.

Fantastic experience: The last cut was perfect. Ariel did an excellent job and understood what I asked, cutting off my beard in great detail.

Negative experience: Honestly I’m a bit surprised about the all shop. I hope this review is going to be helpful for all the staff and the owner, cause I’m not here to write fake things but to share my experience. The haircut: I’m not a crazy for my hair but I think somebody need to be more focus when u are doing that ( no speaking, really cold atmosphere with the me, I showed him what I wanted and he didn’t even look at it, he stopped the haircut to be at the phone.. but at the end of the haircut we spoke a bit ). The result? Nothing crazy obviously, I’ve seen way better haircut and service for way less money. As I’ve written above, I’m surprise cause in the main while I was having the haircut I could see different barbers take really care about the client ( speaking, asking ect ) and going out with a perfect fade. Again, I’m not here to spread bad things about the shop cause it’s my experience here.. I hope it will be helpful to improve, cause people come from far away ( more than an hour ) and obviously paying a service, so they should have quality on that.

Negative experience: My 16yr old son had Raphael do his zero fade yesterday and sadly he won't be back he almost cried and instead of showing off his haircut he's trying to hide it with a hat. I feel bad for my son. This dude cut it with scissors, way to short on the top when my son said he wanted volume to be able to style it. I don't call that dude advanced. Definitely don't recommend. Unfortunately we won't be back. We will make the trip to Barber Roms in kawerau his original barber, who knows exactly what he wants. And how to understand what he wanted.

Fantastic experience: We recently moved to Papamoa so was looking for somewhere me and my son could get a haircut, all of the staff here are fantastic, they were really welcoming when we arrived, they were absolutely fantastic with my young kids and the results are awesome, they even had the time to fit my daughter in for a beautiful hair cut ready for her starting school again which was great considering we just walked in on a Saturday afternoon. The young guy that did my hair was really friendly and professional, we got an absolutely top service here at The Barber Shack, Papamoa, I highly recommend them for anyone that needs a good hair cut.

The cuts were on point, my kids, aged 12, 10 and 8, are so happy with their low taper fades. We have just moved to Papamoa and we've locked it in as our go-to Barber. Fantastic experience: great service and skilled barbers. neat premesis with a playstation to use while you wait. plenty of barbers and chairs in there, so you'd likely get service without an appointment. $30 for a beard trim and shape $45 to include head shave. my beard has never looked so good! my 7yo kid was stoked with his fade and cut, and was happy to get a free lollipop afterwards. the barber was good with him and made him feel comfortable.

While the cut turned out great, a gentler touch would have made the experience even better. Overall, I would recommend this place for a solid haircut!

I made an error in my booking and showed up at the wrong time. Dom wasn’t even cutting but he pulled up a chair and also took his time to do a mean job. Kecy is great to book in with at the Mount shop. But all the team at Papamoa and Greerton also hold a high standard.
