Fantastic experience: Awesome experience (as we’ve always had) but today Piper did such a great job I had to leave a review - both because of the haircut she gave our boy and how she interacted with him. They chatted away, played eye spy and ‘would you rather’. She treated him so well and made sure he was comfortable the whole time. Plus he now looks extra cute and fresh thanks to his new cut!

Negative experience: I’ve been a customer here for years, but the quality is too inconsistent. Some barbers do great work, but my last cut was really disappointing — too much was taken off the top, the fade was uneven and patchy, and a taper I didn’t ask for was added. The barber was friendly, but there was no mirror check and the cut looked rushed. At this point, I only trust one or two barbers here. I was really disappointed with the result.

Negative experience: Didn’t have the greatest experience cutting my hair here recently. I walked in with a great volume of hair and suggested an inch on the top to be chopped off, a layering chop of method would be used by any barber instead the guy decides to bring the length down evenly on all side of the head by more than an inch. I almost feel like I have a buzz cut now. Not ideal in my corporate world. I don’t need any compensation and no off against the guy who was very kind. Just sharing this as an experience as I would hope others are careful especially when you have a full volume hair. Sadly I won’t be recommending this place. I would definitely recommend helping the guy with some training tools to be able to excel in his job. Cheers

Positive experience: My son recently had a bad cut here, July has been very kind to offer a fix up and voucher. I’m very grateful that business owners like July care enough to fix the problem. Unfortunately my son didn’t take the fix up as it’s too short. But will try the more experienced barber next time.

Fantastic experience: Could not be more impressed with the service we received at Barbershop Tauranga. Didn’t grab the barbers name but he was a dude with long hair. He went above and beyond to make my family feel welcome as we waited. He also made a real effort to connect with my boy and even played connect 4 with him afterwards as I fed my baby. The haircut is awesome and our boy is very happy with it.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I’ve just had the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life. Showed a reference photo of a typical blowout taper to the lady. I asked her clearly if it’s something she could do and she replied with “Yes, just the sides and the back.” Should’ve trusted my gut and just left but i thought i’d trust the process. She started cutting my hair and I just knew it was going to be bad. She adidnt even give me a proper fade. I hate to leave a review like this but I think she shouldnt be agreeing to a cut she can’t deliver on. I know she could be good at cutting some styles but I just wish she wouldve just said no and not wasted my time.

Positive experience: Nice place to get a haircut, and the people are friendly. However, there’s a long wait time, and last time, they closed at 5 PM, even though Google says they’re open until 7 PM on Tuesdays. If the shop owner sees this, please update the hours on Google or follow the listed times. It’s a good place overall, and I’ll make sure to come before 5 PM next time.

Fantastic experience: Stopped in as a walk in and had the pleasure to get a cut and skin fade from Nessi. His skills, charisma, and vision all came to life and I left with a new cut and loved it. Great guy, fun to chat with, and really sharp attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Second time customer here, and very pleased with the results. Went in for a zero fade and beard trim. Im pretty protective of my beard so if i dont trust a place they're not going near my beard. The consistency is good between different barbers and they take the time to get things right. The atmosphere inside is also nice, which let's you know they enjoy what they're doing. It's also great that you can que up online and it gives you an expected wait time.

Negative experience: Just went in store and joined the wait queue as normal, machine promptly tells me there is a 10 minute wait. I’m fine with that so I sit and wait. While I am waiting I watch the 5 staff who are working dwindle down to 1, and once my expected hair cut time is 15 minutes late I ask what the story is, to be told everyone decided to take their break at the same time - the wait time is now 73 minutes. No notice of this while I try to keep 2 kids quiet in the tiny store, by their standards I would have just waited a total of an hour and a half for no apparent reason. Would not recommend.

Positive experience: Coming back and sharing my experience after another hair cut not here , not a bad place but just hear me out, and I first arrived I stood there waiting for a bit and then I was presented with a tablet to put all my details in which I'm not a guy that want to do this, and I saw it was not really necessary and just draw the timeout longer it really should be something there should be doing at the counter them selfs , I don't know if I'm old school but I just want to sit down for a haircut I don't want to be presented with a tablet, then the young man that cut my hair obviously everyone they hire is experienced and they are good hairdressers etc but he didn't speak any English, so that was it really I just sat there in silence, got the haircut thought it was ok and left only to notice a big oil stain on shoulder from the clippers new tee shirt as well, since then at a local barber where I live and the experience was just that much better it didn't feel business orientated and it felt like I was just hanging out with a mate and not so forced .

Negative experience: The worst cut I ever had. Seems like a scam! if you decide to go don't cut your hair with the fat man with painted nails

Negative experience: Came in for a beard clean up. I asked to get my sides done and keep the bottom longer. It took 10min and He charged me 25$ for a beard maintenance. He trimmed everything on 3mm basically. I wasn’t happy and I paid too much

Negative experience: Below average cut. Above average price. Friendly guy. I told the barber at the beginning of the cut that I didn’t want it too short on the top. I repeated this again after he had done the sides and started on the top. He continued to keep cutting more and more off. After the cut he said “I hope it’s not too short” and then proceeded to charge me $45. I left feeling ripped off and without the cut I asked for. He cut it the way he wanted, not the way I asked. Won’t be returning.

Negative experience: Quality of work did not match the price of the service. Got a fade and there’s still patches of hair missed. Seems they don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to fades

Negative experience: Regular customer. Had a not so good experience with the whole cut. Was cut on my neck from the razer and bled quite a lot. He proceed to trying to cut my hair like nothing happened , but unforuntley the blood stain on my collar wont come out. Whole job was rushed and when I asked to have something fixed up I was told I should learn the correct terms.. for $38 this was not worth it.

Negative experience: Worst barber experience ever !!!!! Couple of barber are good but stay away from Paola !! She is unprofessional and irrespectfull with customers !! I honnestly can t believe the way she was... Oh and she cannot do what you ask cause that s not her way to cut hair !
