Negative experience: Unfortunately this barbershop is not trans-friendly. When I walked in, one of the staff members looked me up and down and responded to my greeting with "we don't cut long women's hair here" in a tone that felt condescending. I currently have a mullet that is barely chin length at the very longest and usually maintain it myself with clippers, but was looking for a professional to redo my edges etc. I tried to explain that I was looking for a short clipper cut and that I had had my hair cut here some months ago (maybe on that occasion my too-feminine voice was acceptable - as a side note the haircut I received then was uneven). At this stage I did not feel comfortable stating I was transgender. She looked sceptical and initially declined, then said "well go on then" but at this stage I felt very unwelcome and left. I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews on local businesses but feel it is important for other transgender or butch people looking for a barber to know they will not be welcomed here.

Negative experience: The lady who cut my hair didn't listen to what I wanted and was aggressive with the way she cut my hair, argued with me told me to "let her do her job" and disrespected what I wanted. Not what I expected as a customer. Absolute shocking and never coming back. This is not a reflection on the entire store, just the person who cut my hair.

Fantastic experience: Great barber, with very good service ...Only downside is the queues if your in a hurry due to being busy One thing I wish they added into their service was potentially using straight razor blades (flip open type) to trim/ finish the edges around sideburns, ears and around the neck - I really miss that from another barber in Auckland and it was the tipping point that showed they care about the details If they did that i would come back every time even though they are an hours drive away from home
