Fantastic experience: Never been here before as we’ve recently moved down from Queensland. Asked if a walk in was available as I was walking by. The guys were all cutting, but they fit me in. Was in the chair 5 minutes later. Just before Nik had finished, I heard another customer talk about having to get cash from the ATM. Didn’t realise they were cash only and I only had my phone!! Told, don’t sweat it, just drop payment ($45) in when you’re next past. Of course I dropped it in the next day. Good cut, honest blokes, totally recommended. Thanks Nick and Robbie

Negative experience: If you're a man, need a chop, a sanctuary and have aligned views - this is your place. My experience with this place is as follows. I am not from Adelaide and came for a holiday with my partner. We happened to dawdle past this shop and he commented that he needed a haircut. I told him to go for it to which he said he could hold out but I convinced him I'll be alright and to go for it. I didn't realise upon entry it was men only, so I sat down to wait for him and starting playing on my phone. Barber (owner?) gets my attention, and tells me to wait outside. Not politely, not angrily but dismissively. I complied and left promptly and walked up the road. Upon sitting down, I digested what had happened and felt pretty crappy.. After all, I just gave them business only to be cast aside. Upon reading these comments that an article or whatever has been posted about it (I didn't come from any articles or online) - I can see it attracts certain types. Men can have their space, go for it. But don't forget - historically men have always had space and gate keeped women. So don't get upset when it get pointed out. Anyway.. Shopped looked clean, my man looked good.

Negative experience: Owners would constantly park illegally at the bus stop in front of their shop. There was often misogynistic images in the front window. The kind of place I'm sure Trumpers and Tate fans would love to talk shop in. The fact that they're trying to get an exemption for the law to continue to discriminate against half of the population just says it all

Fantastic experience: Adelaide's Premier Barbershop. There really is absolutely no barbershop in Adelaide that can match the quality, consistently, vibe or the brand that is RCS. I've been coming here for 8+ years now and for very good reason. Robbie and the boys truly deliver a unique experience that you will only find sitting in his chairs. From a little bit of banter and joking to life/relationship advice to business advice... Anything you can l could ever need, Robbie's is a one stop shop. At this point, even the thought of visiting another Barber Shop is the equivalent of cheating on a long-term spouse. Robbie has become my long-term spouse. I'm nothing if not loyal to Rob and the boys. Amazing barber, incredible father, the perfect husband and the best friend you could ever ask for. Ignore the haters, let them sulk in their cat piss stained clothes and meander around their useless lives. If you are looking for a proper Barber Shop, consistency, quality and just an all round best experience... Robbie's Chop Shop is for you.

Negative experience: The cut was very flawed with two mistakes (one on the back and other on the right side). They just talked negatively about other people for no reason. Poor haircut and poor environment.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service. I brought my 1.5 year old son here not realizing it was a male only barber shop. The guys there were so sweet, they moved a bench outside to set up a little spot for my boy and did an amazing job on his haircut. What a cool place for men to go, love the concept and appreciate them being so accommodating. Highly recommend to all the men and boys out there!

Whether you like your hair long, medium, short, or super-short, Robbie's is the place to go for a top-quality haircut or shave. All the barbers who have cut my hair at Robbie's are outstanding at their craft. They do walk-ins, but as this is such a popular and busy spot, I use their easy and convenient Booksy app to make an appointment. Two things you should know before going to Robbie's Chop Shop: It's a cash-only business; they do have an ATM if you forget your stash of cash. And it is a "male-only sanctuary", but your female loved-ones will find loads to do along the King William Road shopping district while you enjoy the ultimate men's barbering experience.

Also like to add that Lachy cut my hair perfectly last time; i basically instructed him exactly what i wanted and he did it exactly the way i asked. Perfection!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to RCS since 2015, across the different venues Robbie has popped up in and shop moves it has always been a pleasurable experience to which I look forward to going to every time. Being a middle aged male who DOESN'T open up very often it is definitely nice to be able to go see Robbie, get a hair cut and open up within the confides of his shop to him or his offsiders. Personally I do not understand all the current backlash regarding no females allowed to stay within the vicinity, if you don't like something you don't have to go nor send your child there, it's very simple I would have thought...

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling! I used their online platform to book. Nowhere did it mention they will not cut the hair of a female. I booked 2 days in advance, drove 20 minutes to get there and was instantly denied service because of my gender. With a smirk on his face, in an empty salon, he told me "we only cut men's hair here". I would strongly recommend that if you want fair treatment, don't waste your time with these slimly blokes!

Negative experience: I don’t understand what kind of establishment in this day and age doesn’t accept card it’s ridiculous, no one told me until after my haircut had finished very inconvenient and won’t be back because of it. Also pretty steep for what I had done for a cash only barber? I’ve had hairdressers wash my hair and give me tea or coffee and biscuits for less. Nothing against the guy who cut my hair he did just what I asked so no complaints there.

Negative experience: Casual racism with a side of gender discrimination and possible tax evasion. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the sign that said no women/girls/anyone else allowed other than men. Secondly, the guy put a different chair cloth (the one that barbers put when cutting your hair) on me. It was black (all others were white) and it said "keepin it classy" and "shiner gold" with a crude image of gold teeth in a black person's teeth. It was so obviously racist. When I asked the guy why he put this on me, he replied "coz you're special mate", I'm of mixed Italian and Indian descent. Lastly, they only accept cash. I mean who accepts only cash in this day and age?! And conveniently they have an ATM on site that charges an extra $2.80 for you to get the cash. I was forced to use this because the guy wouldn't let me out of the shop to use a different ATM that did not charge the $2.80 "fee". I've never experienced racism until I visited this store, my first and last visit, never going back. Have also reported this business to the Equal Opportunity Commission and the tax authorities. Don't give your hard earned money to these people, there are far better options for a haircut in Adelaide.
