Negative experience: I came in a couple days ago for the first time and I’m highly disappointed by the service and attitude from the guy who cut my hair. He was very unprofessional, cursing, snobby and pretty much payed me no mind. I do not remember his name he was Latino with black really curly hair. I advise that you guys train your employees to show customers more respect so they can give a better experience.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for about 2 years now, and I have worked with Alex, Angel, Javi, Tayvonne, Yaz, Dion, and Zay they all do an amazing job here I have kinky/curly hair and it is HARD to find a barber that can cut my hair right. Let me tell you these guys do it RIGHT, all of the barbers that work there are well-versed in different hairstyles so don't be afraid to work with someone new. I guarantee you, it will come out the way you want it to! I had my most recent haircut with Angel and he always gets it right on, he's meticulous and is very detailed with his linework give him a go, or anyone of the barbers that works there! Even the ones I didn't mention I know will do a great job! Highly recommend there's not other barbershop I'd go to besides this one!

Negative experience: Zero stars. I gave this place a couple chances and it’s always something. First time they didn’t do a very good job with a simple fade. Several times later we come in they have a number system. It was unorganized and barbers and clients were all confused. Definitely don’t recommend for a walk in appointments. We were there 1hr plus and still weren’t called up. No communication no acknowledgment

Fantastic experience: I have been to a few other barbershops in Surprise and they have done fine but didnt achieve what my son was wanting. I decided to try Surprise Barbershop. I explained to Jesse, that my son wanted a low taper fade but my son has pretty straight hair so I wasnt sure it would be possible. Jesse explained his idea of how to achieve the style my son was wanting. Jesse did amazing. My son (11 years old) usually doesn't even want his hair cut but now that Jeese did such an amazing job, when I tell my son its time for a hair cut he tells me it HAS to be Jeese or he doesnt want one. You can tell that Jesse is passionate about his work with an artistic mind. He's laid back, has patience, and easy for my son to talk to. I haven't seen my son so excited after getting his hair cut. Thank you Jesse for making my son's day. Happy son, happy mom.

Negative experience: I took my 2‑year‑old in for a haircut. The posted price clearly shows $20 for kids, and I called ahead to check availability before going in. When we arrived, everything seemed normal, but at checkout I was charged $40. I was told that “appointment pricing is different,” even though this wasn’t mentioned over the phone, or in the shop. As a parent, we try to plan ahead especially with a toddler who can get restless so this felt misleading. I’m really hoping I wasn’t taken advantage of !!

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience getting a cut from Jesse, and he absolutely killed it. Took his time, listened to what I wanted and did a phenomenal job. He was great to talk with, very easy and laid back. Definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a new barber, I'll be back to see him. Thanks Jesse.

Negative experience: Worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. I came here the day before thanksgiving. When I arrived it wasn’t busy and I was seated within 5 min. I got the new guy apparently who just moved there but has been a barber for years as he says. I went in there with long curly hair and I described to him exactly what I wanted and told him not to cut much and where to cut and how I wanted it and he just chops it all off and gives me a bowl cut. He even combs and blow dries my hair straight down into a straight bowl cut and has the audacity to turn me and around and say “like this” when I came in with super curly hair that I specifically told him where to cut and how much to cut. This is the worst haircut I’ve ever had I still can’t style my hair or do anything with it because of the way he decided to cut it. Not only that but he decided to thin out my mustache into a line without me asking which I’ve never done before and he left my neckline incredibly crooked that I had to correct when I got home. Don’t recommend if you actually care about your hair.

First time with him, I have had my haircut by just about everyone there including my kids and never had a bad experience. Everyone is super polite and great with kids. I have 4 and 10 yr olds. Javi, Tayvon, Fatima, Laith, Alex sorry for the ones I missed but I always see good haircuts coming from everyone, and have recieved cuts from all. I know all these names because that’s how friendly this place is, I went to many places in surprise el mirage where the customer service just isn’t there. And the one time I did have a problem which wasn’t from the cut itself just a payment mistake it was taken care of and that was that. Thanks again! We Love this place.

Negative experience: I showed them a pic and the barber did the opposite of the pic. Didn't even get what I wanted right at all. Won't be coming back here and told my friends not to come too. They made a false claim that I “came back”. I never came back. No person in their right mind would come back to a barbershop with couple of barbers that don’t know how to properly fade. I don’t know about you but a barbershop that makes false claims about customers shouldn’t be trusted. Like I said, I showed them a picture and the guy went off doing his own thing. I’ll also be putting a review at the other barbershop

Negative experience: Guy ruined my son's hair. What was even more annoying was that he was on his phone texting the whole time. My son will never get a hair cut again. He wanted the front of his hair left long and the guy apparently just kept cutting to make it match his own hair. People should realize teens like hair in their eyes. It's just how it is now for some teens. My son is now doing online schooling until his hair grows back. Real sad.

Positive experience: My kids hair came out nice. Barbers seem like independent contractors and that can be a good thing. The barber that saw us did not seem motivated or personable. Could be personality, inexperience, or maybe they don't have much financial obligations to strive for repeat customers. Will try someone else next time.

Negative experience: I went in today on October 17. I did not have an appointment, but they took me as a walk-in, which I appreciate, but I still expect a quality haircut which I did not receive. I don’t remember my barber‘s name. I just remember him not taking the time and effort to give me what I asked for And what seemed like just a rushed haircut just for a money grab. Let me just give you some background. I haven’t been to a barber in about three years. I had longer hair and I expected my haircut to be at least 30 minutes, but when I showed my barber my hairstyle that I wanted, he seemed to understand exactly what I wanted, but then he just started rushing through the haircut and not doing a quality job and I was out within 10 minutes of sitting in the chair, which in some cases would be nice because you were in and out, but in my case, I don’t go to barbershops too often, and I would like somebody to take their time with my Hair Other than just think about the money and getting customers in and out.

Positive experience: Overall good cut, but I did come late. Feels wrong to give 3 stars but...that would be my true rating. Why? Because I look in the mirror and I'm like damn I thought he'd clear this. Overall good vibes but make sure to point 100% what you want done.

Negative experience: My bf loves this place, he enjoys the environment and the different barbers who know how to cut 4C hair. However, it has been a few times now that we'll schedule him an appointment and they wont get to him for 30min-1 hour. Normally this would be no big deal, but as we share a car it is impossible to plan properly because he will be late to getting me from work, or working around our plans because they book and sit every chair the second it is open. Again, he truly loves this place but as the one affected by the time miscommunication, I don't think him going here until the issue with respecting booked times is fixed.

Negative experience: I thought about this for a good couple of days and I needed to let you all know. Whoever the Dominican is that where the fanny pack is probably the worst barber there. I've been coming here for a while now and never had a problem, but when I was sat with him it took 5 minutes to even get my haircut started and then when he did finally get to cutting my hair, my sideburns with my beard were so uneven I had to go in and shave off quite a bit to settle it. I had massive razor bumps on my head as well from where he was grinding it against my hairline. While everyone else was getting a great service, my brother included, I got shafted with a guy who looked like he didn't want to be there. I paid $36.00 for a half-assed haircut. Not too happy with the outcome and I hope you guys either teach him to be better at his job or get rid of him for how shoddy of a barber he is.

The best part about Surprise Barbershop is not the top notch haircuts or quick service. It's their barber Leo that works there. Leo is amazing. Fantastic experience: Leo is top notch. I met him at another shop locally and told him what I wanted and he got it the first time without pictures, it’s not an everyday look. He’s up for a challenge and he makes sure to put in all the final touches to get you looking right before you leave.
