Fantastic experience: By far the best haircut I’ve ever received in my life! I’ve been going to the same place for 15 years and decided to make the switch to somewhere new. I had never been in a barbershop before so I was nervous trying somewhere new. Needless to say I’ll never go back to my old place again! 1st choice is now the only place I’ll ever get a haircut at! The service, hospitality, quality and atmosphere is amazing and truly unmatched. You don’t feel like just another customer you feel welcomed and at home. And I don’t think my hair has ever looked this good in my life, not even exaggerating. Russell did an incredible job and I’m now a life long customer. If you’re looking for the best haircut experience around this is your place for sure!

Just started this routine and wish I had a long time ago. Dasha does a great job on my hair, the 30 minutes plays on a shave is the one of the best parts of the month.

Fantastic experience: Isaak is probably the best barber I’ve ever been to. I used to go to the barbershop all the time, but then stopped to cut my own hair. Got pretty good at it, knowing exactly what I want. After about 10 years, I finally went back to a barbershop and realized I had no idea what to ask for or what to say. I gave him a vague description and he went 2/2 both times I went in the past couple months, cutting and styling exactly how I envisioned. Will be going back.

Negative experience: Was there few times already and everything was ok but this time I made BIG mistake and seated on the Nissan's chair....uffff that was weird experience!After almost HOUR of cutting and trimming my hear he gived me a mirror and showed me my back side.It was disaster! When i told him to im not satisfied and can we fix it he told me "COULD BE WORST " and he continued to do whatever he was doing like nothing happen.Of course he didn't asked me one question how I would like to have my hair done. Apparently he already decided that for me Im not a hard guy and im not expecting some special treatment but this was very WEIRD! If you going to this shop stay away from Nisan.Guy needs some help and it's very rude!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to 1st Choice on 67th avenue for many years - the owner Russel is my main barber. He has always done a great job. All are very friendly and the shop is well maintained. Today (Wednesday) I needed a haircut, so I went to Russel's new shop on 83rd, since I think Russel works there on most Wednesdays. As nice as the first place and a bit larger. Overall, I highly recommend 1st Choice at either location.

He does a great job with my hair and creates an old school barber feel. I also appreciate his owner mentality as he is the first barber that ever asked if i wanted to schedule an appointment for the future. The first time caught me a little off guard, but I am not totally sold on having it pre planned. I recommend 1st Choice Barbershop!

Negative experience: Never viewed or witnessed , such absolute unprofessionalism ever! The two barbers were inside, basically making jokes about a third barber to mention that she was was supposed to be there because there’s four people waiting, and making a joke just to mess with her. I laughed at it at first, but they kept going on about it and it was incredibly unprofessional…

Negative experience: I had been going to this establishment for a few years, but as of late, we'll the experience has been going down hill. I went for my monthly cut as I am a local business owner myself and like to look clean for my events. Well the last haircut was hurried due to the barber having an appointment coming in but they were running late and he took me right away but rushed it, I get it. This month I went in and was the first person sitting, and of course the empty barber had an appointment that would be there in 10 minutes, so as not to hurry as I did last time I said I would wait, hech I'm next in line...I thought. Nope, another appointment holder walks in and he is next. We'll now it's 30 minutes later and I still have to wait. So I go 2 minutes down the road to another barber and no appointment I'm in and out. I should mention that there is a walk-in policy but don't go for it. Make an appointment or find another barber shop. JMO. I also need to mention, the 2 of the 4 barbers there spent more time talking than cutting hair. So there is that , it just made it worse. I'm now using another barber, but again if you go here ...make an appointment or be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for about 5-years and have never left disappointed! I personally try and see Josey when available, but have gotten my haircut from just about everyone and have always been satisfied! Josey has nailed every hairstyle I have wanted to try, and will work with me every step of the way to make sure I’m happy with it! Their online appointment system is on point, but even if you need to walk-in, they always seem to try and accommodate you as fast as they can. Huge respect for the owner, Russell, as well. Between doing cuts himself, side work, and greeting each guest that comes in - I don’t think I’ve ever seen the man sit down!

Negative experience: I bought a subscription for a monthly haircut, and the owner scheduled me. An appointment is 4 weeks out. And yet, I still got charged me for a haircut saying it has not been 4 weeks, then why would you schedule an appointment a day before I am supposed to get a haircut forcing me to pay two times. Either stupidity or a scam...

Great barber shop - everyone is really polite and friendly, and there is a great vibe to the place. My barber, Josey, was fantastic! He’s easy to get along with and really knows how to cut hair. He cleaned my scraggly looking self very nicely, from hair to beard. My dad’s barber, Isaac, was just as good, and the owner is a nice guy. Definitely will be coming back here for our haircuts!!

Fantastic experience: I visited the 1st Choice Barbershop for the first time and I was very happy by the time I was heading out. First off, this shop offers a clean and welcoming environment to its customers. If you are a walk-in and have to wait, feel free to hang out and play a game of chess, watch one of the many TV's spread around the shop, or just enjoy the music & conversation. Also, the camaraderie between the barbers is immediately noticeable and it makes you feel right at home. I went in for a haircut/beard trim and was taken care of by Isak. I personally waited far too long to get a haircut somewhere so I looked like a complete mess, but Isak treated me with nothing but professionalism and respect during my visit. His attention to detail is impeccable and it feels really good to know that your barber cares more about quality rather than getting finished & moving onto the next customer as quickly as they can.
