Positive experience: I have mixed feelings about this place, last haircut I got was legitimately the best haircut I've ever had in my life, but this most recent one was incredibly way too short despite me asking for a specific length, I guess it depends on who you get here

Fantastic experience: Fabian is an amazing barber!! I brought my brother in for a Floyd's cut and he totally transformed my brother's look. Fabian really curated my brother's haircut to his face shape and needs. Fabian is detailed, attentive, and very talented. My brother's hair has never looked better. I can't thank you enough, Fabian!!! I'll definitely send my brother your way for another cut!

Fantastic experience: Amazing service, haircut and beard trim! The assistant manager is the best barber in Colorado. Hand done no doubt about it! I highly recommend coming to this Floyd's shop in Lakewood!

Negative experience: Was here a few weeks ago and the haircut I had asked for was nothing close to that. It has been before, and the person I got my haircut was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. The barbershop is a place to talk but not about just any topic… This location and a few other locations I have been to have had some employees who are not so professional with what they talk about. I guess I get what I pay for when the price is too good to be true. If I were able to make this a zero star I would. I was recommended by friends to go to Floyd’s and each time and every Floyd’s I have been to has been a very strange experience.

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough about Angelica. Absolutely the most bestest bestest hair stylist. AI.... eat your hat cause you'll never replace her.

Fantastic experience: Ashia did an outstanding job on my haircut. She was attentive, detailed, and clearly takes pride in her work. The skin/razor fade came out clean and precise, exactly what I was hoping for. On top of that, she was kind and made the whole experience genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommend booking with her.

Positive experience: EDIT: I was issued a full refund after further discussion with the team at Floyd's and I went to another Floyd's 99 location (one actually closer to my home) and got a fresh cut there that has me feeling 1000% better about my hair. I'm much happier now. Leaving my review below intact but I'll give this caveat to it as well - the Floyd's 99 team members I've interacted with since have all been helpful and understanding and if I'd stood up for myself or been more firm in the moment, I likely would have been less bewildered. I'm feeling a little bewildered. I booked and paid for a full service cut because online it says that is ideal for longer hair, which I have, and included a cut, shampoo, and blow dry style. My stylist, whose name i did not get, started by dry cutting my hair, then spritzing and cutting. I brought up that I was expecting a shampoo and my stylist stated they didn't even know what I'd booked. After cutting, my stylist washed my hair and said I was done. So, not wanting to be a pain, I went up and paid and left. With dripping wet hair. The cut did initially look fine dry so I'm not upset about that really I'm just... bewildered that my stylist was not told the services I booked, my stylist didn't go to confirm after I brought up I was expecting something different, and when I went to pay I was charged for a service that included blow dry when I very obviously still had wet hair. Bewildered. Y'know, I'm just gonna throw this in here. I don't have the best hair care routine and I COULD Have been upsold on shampoo and conditioner or at LEAST a hair mask and I wasn't. In hindsight I feel less bewildered and more neglected/dismissed.

Negative experience: I recently visited this barbershop and was attended by Jason. When I arrived, I showed him a photo of the haircut I wanted and also explained in detail how I wanted it. Unfortunately, the final result was very different from what I had requested. The back was cut much shorter than I asked for, and when I mentioned this to him, he told me that it was what he believed was best for me.

Negative experience: Just got hacked up at Floyd's 99. This is a tough review to write as I know the owners and they are awesome! I called in and explained what I needed. Asked for a stylist and was recommended one. I switched my appointment and canceled another location after speaking with the girl at the front desk and her explaining to me the stylist and her expertise. I know the difference between barber and stylist and have taken my boys to Floyd's for years. The girl that cut my hair and was expected to use a hot flat iron (I asked numerous times as I've never really seen this done when I've taken my boys for a cut). And was assured she had the tools and experience. We'll the women cutting my hair told me she's never used a flat iron in her life. And she cuts hair. They switched me to another stylist. And her exact comments was it's too short on the sides. I said I know she just hacked my hair up. This location is no longer a Floyd's in my humble opinion. It's another Super Cuts! Good luck out there but do not believe them if they say you're getting a stylist. Not sure what that even means when the person doesn't even know what a hair straightener tool is. I'm writing this as it's not okay and others should know that unfortunately this location is not the one I'd go to. I'm assuming the other locations are on par!

Negative experience: I had to change my review. After hearing that this place considers they customers as property I can back them. We are not property. And if that how they feel I’m not going to recommend anybody to go there. 100% unprofessional. We’ll be taking my business somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Angelika is cheerful and efficient, she did a fantastic job on my fade

Fantastic experience: Chelsea is great! She's very attentive and had no difficulty understanding the style I asked for.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to Anngelica for years and she always does a great job with both scissor cuts and fade/blending the sides. Front desk is always very friendly as well.

Fantastic experience: I love how creative my stylist is with my hair designs, she creates different patterns every time and they always look amazing!

Fantastic experience: I decided to try a new haircut joint a few years ago because the one I was using had changed their website and dropped my appointment, when I rescheduled the hairstylist cancelled it at the last second without telling me. Luckily I found Floyd’s, it took a few hairstylists before I found Kyri, I don’t think my cut is overly difficult, but the lack of attention to detail in the profession from a large portion of hairstylists is alarming. Anyway Kyri has always done a great job, she is super friendly and I have never been disappointed which is why I always look forward to getting my haircut with her specifically. Thank again for the fantastic service Kyri, keep up the great work.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for yesterday with "any stylist". Showed up on time. Front desk asked me to have a seat. Sat for 30 minutes past my appointment time and watched all barbers free up, yet no one tapped me to do the cut, nor even stopped by to tell me I was up next, etc. I walked out and went down the street to Faded and they happily took my money. Between that, and the stupid prices for a buzz cut ($42 after tip is nuts for a 10 minute buzz). Faded was 30 all in. Won't be returning to Floyds.

Fantastic experience: I was fortunate to have Donnie R as a barber for my hair twice. He gave a phenomenal cut both times that turned heads. I have dreads, and he was able to cut my hair that matched my facial structure and hair style. He greated me with a smile, great conversation, and made me feel comfortable throughout both appointments. Amazing experience!

Negative experience: Dont come here for skin fades, paid the price for one and get a Floyd's cut twice in a row.

Fantastic experience: Kai at the DU Floyd's just gets what I’m asking for when I can’t describe it well enough. Very few haircuts have I put my glasses on to see their work and instantly thought, “wow I love it”. She’s one of the few barbers I’ve come back to since the one I had for years moved out of state. I’ll definitely only get my haircut by her for as long as possible, unless I get a better deal for a better haircut (highly unlikely). She recommended Reuzel’s products for styling and I’ll have to ask her about conditioner and scalp care when I’m in next time.

Fantastic experience: Angelika was the best hairdresser I have ever had. She listened to me complain about my current hair for a minute then immediately knew what to do. Not only did she give me a quick and amazing haircut, but she recommended a great product to me and gave me great instructions on how to use it. Best haircut I have ever gotten.

Negative experience: Been there a couple of times thought adequate notes were made, but went this time and got a bad haircut completely different from what I had ever gotten.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this Floyd's for years because not only is the staff extremely friendly but I found the stylist I'd been searching for. Her name is Angelika and she's the best. I love her attention to detail and her texturing skills are 100%. I went to her before an important wedding and needed my hair to be on point and when we got the pictures back I was so happy!

Negative experience: Have been a frequent customer here for quite some time and have loved the cuts. Unfortunately today, despite being within the 10 minute time window that they state they can hold appointments for (mind you, Denver traffic is insane and unpredictable), I was rejected at the front desk. I was told there were no more appointments for the rest of the day, yet there were several available with other barbers for the rest of the afternoon when I checked online afterwards. No mention of that at all, seemed like they just wanted to push me back out the door for another day. Not sure how you define 10 minutes other than 10 minutes, but you certainly lost a loyal customer.

Fantastic experience: This shop is fantastic. The people are great and will help you get a great haircut or find that great haircut. And Jessi G’s the best she always gives a great haircut and will learn how to improve it every time, would definitely go cross country for another.

Fantastic experience: I went into Floyd’s with a birds nest of hair i had grown out unsure what to do with it. Luckily Zack knew what to do with it! He gave me a couple options and made me feel comfortable in making the right choice! I am now embracing my longer hair with a cleaned up look and people compliment it all the time! Thanks guys!

Negative experience: Wanted my usual head shave and a beard trim. Got charged full price, but only got a buzz with trimmers. No products, no extras, nothing. Beard is also crooked, but I didn't want to ask her to fix it. I like Floyd's, but this one was a bad experience for the brand. She was friendly, but the work sucked. I recommend trying any of the locations first. Next time, I'll wait instead of having to pay twice.

Fantastic experience: Bobby is the best! She listens carefully and is able to make sense of my son’s requests. She is in tune with the trends of kids in school and can adapt styles to their most flattering expression of it for each individual. Even though all of the studio personnel are edgy in appearance, they nonetheless make us feel comfortable in our mainstream-ness! Floyd’s is a great experience and Bobby is a highly skilled, talented, and considerate stylist. I have no doubt she’s awesome with every client, but she has an easy way with boys that is far above the norm.

Positive experience: I don't love Floyd's. I can't. It's a blinking corporate, albeit its origins are in Denver. I also don't love that many stylists don't last long before they jump ship. However, I have had mostly decent haircuts there so until I find a barber that I trust again, I will keep going back because I really have enjoyed all the people who work there, even if I only get to talk to them once or twice before they leave. It's far from ideal but many things are so...

Negative experience: The lady didn't listen to what I wanted at all. Had to ask someone else for help and by then it was too late. 52 dollars for something I could have just done at home is crazy. Will not return.

Negative experience: It's like they set the 20 minute timer, and if only half of your hair is cut when it hits 20 mins...too bad. Quite expensive as well

Fantastic experience: Amber is awesome and the reason why I drive longer to go to this specific Floyd’s location for haircuts. The staff is friendly and the products I’ve been recommended have been great as well!

Positive experience: Basically a more expensive version of Great Clips. I've been twice and it's like they're trying to get your haircut finished as quickly as possible which includes not communicating very much about what it is you're looking for. Often I think "well the stylist will know what looks good regardless"... which was not true on this last cut. One of the worst I've ever gotten. One thing you can tell the staff IS trained to do is upsell you on other services (shampoos, massages, etc)

Negative experience: I’ve honestly had nothing but issues at this location, two mediocre haircuts and multiple appointment issues including waiting an hour after a confirmed appointment

Fantastic experience: I'm always happy with the service here, I usually walk in and get whichever barber is available at the time. They're all easy to talk to and are really good with unconventional hair styles :)

Negative experience: Kinda pricey for a basic cut and trim. The girl who i see is GREAT she should have her own place she is literally the only reason i go here. What they lack in confory they make up for in people Update 4/2/24 Recently went in for a cut and they changed my stylist without telling me and the new one give me the creeps. Went to schedule with my normal person again and apparently they no longer work here. Guess ill have to find a new place for cuts.

Fantastic experience: Came here for the first time and had Angelika. Best haircut I’ve gotten in a long time. And the quickest ever. Efficient.

Negative experience: Some are talented, but it is also a lot of hype and they take themselves very seriously for what they are. It is also over-priced across the board… and you have to be a damn mathematician to figure out what it’s going to cost at the end of the day. Lots of added stuff… like it used to be shampoo/rinse was part of the prices— now it’s extra!! And above the ears versus below is also a cost differential! Way to stress us out! What does it matter where the scissors hit if it still takes the same amount of time? I mean, whether you swim in the shallow part of a pool or in the Atlantic ocean… you’re still only swimming in the top 5 feet of the water wherever you are!! Thanks for taking the relaxing experience out of going to the salon. Boo.

He apologized for being a few minutes late, but he was finishing up a first-time haircut on a 2 year old with mom and dad recording the event. Totally okay! Expected a Great Clips experience; got a first-rate service haircut with shampoo, neck shave! Jose constantly asked if I liked what he was doing - it was great! Jose is good listener, was very friendly and asked for the next appointment. He'll get it. Thanks, Jose and the rest at Floyd's. Only recommend: turn down the music. Great vibe but too loud (on a Saturday morning).

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough on Bobby B! I have so many cowlicks in my hair and most people just can't cut my hair right because of it. Bobby saw my hair, listened to me, and was able to cut it PERFECTLY to the point where it's easily in the top 5 hair cuts I've gotten. I absolutely recommend Bobby!

Fantastic experience: Edited (20 Sep, 2023) Just got my hair cut with Mariah for the first time today since my last stylist left. Mariah did long layers on my hair (a new bold choice for me) and I just love it! She listened super well to my requests on face framing and my needs and delivered an incredible cut! I will be coming back and I will definitely request to have my hair done with Mariah again! + bonus, best shampooing ever :) Thank you!! Karla was my stylist and she worked magic and gave me exactly what I was looking for with my hair! She’s now my go-to for all my future cuts. I came into Floyd’s with a wad of tree sap in my hair and despite the salon not specializing in tree-sap-removal, Karla did her best and managed to get the awful sap out! She was also so kind and funny and made the whole experience light hearted. Additionally when it came to the cut, she listened to what I was looking for and gave me exactly that. I’m so pleased with my hair :)

I’ve been going to her for several years now, and I’m so glad I found her. She is the reason I love Floyd’s so much! She is amazing with curly hair—both my 7 year old and I have curls, and Mariah always brings out the best in our hair!

Fantastic experience: The team here is so nice and welcoming every time I come in. Savannah is my go to for my haircuts and she is extremely talented. I go in with a general idea of what I am looking for and give her free reign to make the style I want work for me. I have never left disappointed and highly recommend you visit this location!

Negative experience: Rigid with the appointment,rejected for being 10 mins late. Though the front desk lady was kind to offer another time slot an HOUR later. However, she did admit they hold the appointment for 10 mins so not sure why I was turned away.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Rosebud at this location for around 9+ months now and she is stellar! I always ask for a different cut since I like to try new looks, and she knocks it out of the park every time. She's super versatile and has given me nothing but very cool looks ever since day 1. I have curly hair and it's not the easiest to work with, so I love going to someone so knowledgeable and skilled. Quick booking process, good communication, lovely experience.

Positive experience: I made an appointment for 1p. I was asked to be seated. My hairstylist was friendly but she didn’t tell me her name; isn’t that how you obtain longterm customers of you own? I didn’t like how the hairstylist was hollering at the receptionist dude who was checking the inventory at all the stations. I asked her not to shave off my sideburns- and she did anyway. The buzz and slight fade was good. Happy to chat with another Colorado Native- I get sick of all the transplants who’ve migrated here- they annoy me to absolute death. I thought the shop would’ve been way more busy but they have to compete with a new non- corporate authentic barbershop across the street now… not bad for a $32 buzz.

Negative experience: Karla at this branch did not listen to anything I said. I asked for a 1 to a 3 fade with it blended up too and got a 1 all the way up on half my head and a 3 on the other side. Nothing blended in. Terrible haircut.

Negative experience: Requested a cut and a “camo” color to hide a little of my gray for an upcoming trip. Came out looking as red as a carrot (my regular hair color is sandy blond). On top of that, the cut is terrible. Choppy and uneven. Never again!

Fantastic experience: Angelika has been cutting my hair for 3 years now and I’ve never been disappointed. She’s really good at her job and I will continue to visit Floyd’s as long as she is there
