Negative experience: I was a customer at a nearby Jimmy John’s and parked in a parking lot that used to belong to 711 but is now no longer monitored. As I was trying to leave a woman with a Floyd’s shirt came and stood directly behind my car to obstruct me from leaving and then motioned for a car to pull into the lot and take the one vacant spot. I didn’t want that spot and I was just trying to leave… Please don’t obstruct traffic, the parking lot does not belong to you.

Negative experience: I booked with Brian because his bio highlights extensive color experience. He was very nice but his professionalism fell short. My hair never has a hard timing lifting but this time my highlights did not lift to the correct level, and the result was warm and orange. I specifically said I did not want warm tones (when the goal was to freshen up my ash blond streaks).Yet the result was exactly that. When a customer clearly states what they don’t want and the outcome is the opposite, it shows that the request was not respected — and that is incredibly frustrating. There were several other things that went wrong, but there’s no point getting into it — they added to the overall disappointment. My scalp also burned during the process, which has never happened with previous color services at Floyd’s. Brian said he would include a light trim at no cost, but no scissors were used and no dead ends were removed. When I asked about it afterward, I was told it had already been done, which was not true. He mentioned he would follow up the next day to check on the result, but I never received a call. Although he offered to fix the color at no charge, I do not feel confident about his ability to correct the problem or the damage. This service was expensive, and I now have to pay another stylist to repair the color. The appointment also wasted my time, as the promised services were not delivered. The work did not meet the expectations I’ve had from Floyd’s in the past, and I do not recommend this stylist. That said, the Floyd’s location itself has been solid, and the front desk staff is professional.

Negative experience: My husband came in for a simple clean up cut a few days ago, clean up the back and sides and take some off the top, he ended up with a horrible cut not even close to what he asked for. The stylist even said i know we v were going for this but i cid this instead..He said that the stylist seemed to not care about anything and didnt want to be at work that day clearly. Angel just cut the bottom all the way to skin and left the top very long, the back is awful and the top is completely uneven and chopped he cut a line in one of my husbands side burns and said Nothing. It looks as though no time was taken. Big bummer waste of time and money.

Fantastic experience: Tammy is an absolutely amazing stylist. She's the only reason why I come back to this Floyd's. If it weren't for her, I'd never come back to this location because of the other employees that work there total lack of respect for others. I have a strong fear of dogs and your employees had two dogs at the salon when I went there on Sunday. They were unleashed, non-service animals that wandered freely on the floor. I know a service animal when I see one and the dog that approached me almost got kicked in the jaw. I cannot stop my internal fight or flight when I'm around dogs. The dog snuck up on me so well that I was almost unable to control my actions. If you check the cameras, you'll notice I jerked my leg in the dogs direction before I took a step away. In a place that's expected to have only humans, I think it's awful that you guys let your employees bring dogs into the salon. Moving forward, I will have to call the day of my appointments to verify if there is a dog in the building. I expect to be excluded from cancellation policy's rigors if there is a dog on premises. I do not consent to be around dogs when I'm in a place that is usually dog-free. Personally, I would like a partial or total refund for my services on Sunday because there were dirty animals on the premises, but that's not likely to happen. :( Also, one of the dogs was a puppy. Service or emotional support animal aside, no puppy qualifies for either of those roles in the state of CO. When it comes to service animals, a business is allowed to ask two questions: 1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Refusal to answer or "emotional support" give the business the right to refuse the animal on premises. Furthermore, service animals are required to be on a leash via collar or harness *unless* the person is *physically unable to carry a leash.* Everyone in the building had function of both hands and no dog was on a leash. A service dog will *never* lift more than two paws off the ground, approach someone other than their owner (except in an emergency situation), nor bark. An animal doing any of these 3 things also gives the business the right to kick the person and animal off the premises.

Negative experience: AIRICA H. Not only was my haircut sub par and extremely rushed she was not nice to me at all. I maybe moved my head 2 times and she was clearly agitated telling me to stop in a aggressive manner. Don’t want to get her fired but I was very disappointed with my experience.

Negative experience: Called in and booked a haircut with a barber. Came in and sat for 20 minutes past the time they quoted me. Then the front desk lady walked over and said the barber doesn’t cut “afro-style hair” aka black people. I’m not insinuating racism here, but it’s bad service. If you have a barber that doesn’t cut black peoples hair, maybe get barbers that do or ask when booking the appointment. It was a waste of time and honestly kind of uncomfortable. The lady at the front tried to get me to come back the next day to see a different barber but I declined. Didn’t offer me a discount or anything. Find somewhere else to get your haircut. Lots of other places for similar prices.

Negative experience: Extremely hit or miss. I've had good haircuts here in the past (some bad), but I would not trust walk-ins. I got the worst haircut of my life the other day - rushed, never stopped to ask my opinion, shaved my sideburns without asking and left a big bald gap between my facial hair and sideburn (I was going to shave anyway, thankfully, but what if I hadn't?), completely uneven around my head, and just not even close to what I asked for - I even showed her a reference picture of my hair 2 months prior when asked what I want. Zero communication throughout the cut. Absolute botch. Only reason it's two stars is for the prior history of solid haircuts, and the staff is generally very nice. I've been massacred here before too though, and this time was the last straw.

Negative experience: I usually get a cut a Floyd’s but my barber was not in today and I was on a tight schedule. Thankfully, Sammie was available to give me a high-and-tight skin fade. The cut was quick and the establishment had a good atmosphere, but Sammie did a horrible job. No part of my fade was to skin, just stubble all around. There was asymmetrical blending on the right and left high sides, no lineup was done for my hairline either. She was pretty rough with the clippers, which made it evident that she was rushing. I left in good spirit and left a good tip, but I do wish I had spoken up when I was in the chair. I’m at home right now looking at the back and there is no blend, just a jagged line with the teeth marks etched into the fade. 2 stars for the establishment, -3 stars for the cut.

Negative experience: I thought Floyd's could use a bit more charm. My stylist didn't introduce himself or give me his name until I asked. When I was checking out it seems like the staff wanted me out the door so they could get back to their conversation. Non of it was completely rude, just no personal local barbershop feel. My cut was very quick, and honestly not that great.

Negative experience: Terrible service, set up for an appointment. Was called to reschedule because the barber needed a break. Then when I showed up I was told they won’t cut my hair because their stylist doesn’t work with long hair. I’ve been going to the Colfax location for years, and it’s never been a problem. My job depends on me being cut properly, Looks like I’ll have to find another barbershop..

Fantastic experience: Got an absolutely perfect cut from Tammy today at this location. I showed her a picture I found online of some dude who had the cut/style I wanted and told her that I wanted to try to get my hair cut like the guy’s hair in the picture, gave her a couple additional verbal cues/requests, and answered her questions. She nailed it, no problem! One of the best, if not the best, haircuts I’ve ever had. There isn’t a single thing I would ask her to do differently if I was to do it again tomorrow. On top of that she is super friendly, courteous, and very cool. I’m definitely going to request her next time.

Negative experience: The quality has REALLY declined over the last year or two. I used to be able to book whoever was available because I had the confidence that person who cut my hair would do a good job. That it really didn't matter since Floyds seemed to have very high standards. Can't do that anymore. After a few bad/mediocre haircuts, I decided to try and book someone who I recognized had been there for a while. I spent 20 minutes in the chair. No massage, no product, and no wash (that I had booked). She didn't even ask how I wanted the back. These are the things that I came to Floyds for. An experience that lets me relax and enjoy the haircut. It all felt rushed and frankly, I can get the same cut at Great Clips for half the price. It's a shame, because I like the people that work at Floyds, but I can't keep spending my money here.

Negative experience: My $38 haircut literally took them 15mins. That means they’re pulling in $152/hr giving people half baked haircuts, per stylist. Mind you that’s not including tip, of course it’d be impolite to not tip I know that Denver rent is expensive and all that but that’s more than double what I make in my 6 figure office job. I should consider switching careers, scamming people seems like a great gig

Fantastic experience: Great place to get a haircut. Heather did layering and feathering on my long hair and gave me a wolf cut. She did an amazing job! She also cut my son’s hair and it’s the first haircut he’s liked in awhile. She takes her time to make sure everyone is happy and feeling their best! Definitely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: This is the 3rd Floyd's I bring my son to and the only one where stylists take pride in their appearance. They are coiffed, dressed appropriately and their stations are neat. Negative experience: Have never had a bad experience at Floyd’s until today. Took my 14 yo in for a back-to -school haircut that should have been a length trim and minor reshape. She had pictures showing exactly what she wanted. The cut that Ty gave her is a hardcore mullet. This terrible cut has had her in tears thinking about starting her first year of high school like this. He spent more time talking about his high school aesthetic than he did making sure he got hers right. The 50%discount that Floyd’s gave us does not make up for the haircut that makes you cry!

Fantastic experience: I made a last minute appointment Monday evening with Tammy. It had been a long time since my last haircut and she knew exactly what I wanted without my having to explain it in too much detail. I think it’s one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Positive experience: Wouldn’t honor the coupon I received in the mail and didn’t give any explanation other than “we don’t do that”. Wasn’t expired or anything. Good haircut though. Negative experience: They cancelled my appointment 30 minutes before I arrive. I live further than that away. I called to ask why and I get a giggle and a “things happen” as a response. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Floyd’s location. I decided to get a nice haircut from here. Loved the music, the cleanliness of the salon, and the lovely hair stylists and staff, especially Anna! Convenient location on Colfax as well. Highly recommend this place, love my haircut!

Positive experience: Haircuts are always hit or miss here. Last time I got home and saw the gal hadn't thoroughly used the clippers and I had to trim up what I could reach with scissors. Honestly I don't think their cuts are any better than great clips. I regret having given her such a nice tip.

Negative experience: The worst haircut I've had in the five years I've been here in Denver. I asked 3 times to make my tape line more define and she responded: " I'm used to cutting older black men hair."! She faded well but didn't give me a proper lineup; instead she gapped me in the front and sot my tape line back tremendously! Need to say less; I'll never be visiting this facility ever again...

Negative experience: Worst haircut I have ever gotten. I asked the lady serving me to cut 2 inches off the 7 that I have. She went cut 6 inches off the first 2 min of me sitting down. I immediately had to leave and go to a different barber to fix up the mess she made.

Negative experience: Have been going there for 3 years and will not be back. Tried to return a bad Floyd's men hair product and they would not let me. The stylist said and did nothing. The manager obviously doesn't care about the business.

Negative experience: What's happening to Floyd's? Upped price over past two years by nearly 50%. Now cutting the time you have with your stylist from 30 minutes to 20. Competing with Great Clips? Ya know, it's more than just a haircut.

Fantastic experience: Now it taking me almost twenty-three years since my last barber retired to finally find a barbershop and barber that could cut my type of hair at a reasonable price, so Floyd's barbershop was recommended by one of my friends Eric. I love the costumer service with especially loving how great my barber cuts my hair. He gets me in and out without taking along time. Now everyone was for year were scared to and if tried to cut always messed my hair up.The first time he saw me Micheal new exactly how I wanted my haircut without me saying anything and he did it in such a short timely matter leaving me looking so good that it left excitement all over face since the Pandemic with months before being able to came in, so I gave a nice tip. I would recommend Floyd's Barbershop to anyone needing or looking for a new barber. Giving 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ with two thumbs up .

Negative experience: Unprofessional staff. I was waiting ~10 minutes after my appointment time and was told the stylist has to shampoo, clean up, and collect payment of their client before they would see me. This would be 20 plus minutes after my appointment time. I had to ask for service and was begrudgingly told that “I guess the assistant manager would cut my hair”. I only recommend. Floyd 99 if you want a subpar, overcharged haircut that they ‘might’ make your appointment. 0/5.

Positive experience: I was recently diagnosed with alopecia and made the decision to cut off about 6 inches of my hair and go with a short haircut. I booked an appointment online and was assigned to Melanie. After sitting down in her chair and explaining my hair situation she seemed very off put about my requested hair cut and told me she'd be right back. When she returned she gave me what seemed to be an excuse that she wasn't actually assigned to me and that I needed to go upstairs to Candace's chair. After moving upstairs to the second stylist I then again had to explain my hair situation and the cut I expected. The stylist again seemed very off put, had no idea what haircut I wanted (even though I provided many images and explanations) and seemed incredibly uncomfortable which therefore made me even MORE uncomfortable and decoruaged. Hair is just hair but when you suffer with alopecia, it's difficult to be open with people about the hair loss and to be open about it to total strangers is kind of awkward. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed out by this point in my visit and just wanted to leave when yet another stylist (I believe her name was Blanca?) came upstairs and I had to explain my situation....again...Although, to my surprise she seemed very confident she'd be able to provide me with the haircut I requested. After my third stylist and chair, back downstairs again, I finally got a haircut! I was delighted with the outcome, although a little bothered that the two stylists who had made me feel very uncomfortable prior were literally sitting behind me while I got my haircut just watching and chatting as if it wasn't obvious to me that they just weren't interested or capable of helping me. I would like to sincerely thank the stylist who cut my hair for giving me a great short hair cut that I can rock. I probably won't return to this location but I felt it deserved 4 stars as after all was said and done I did get great service from the one stylist that helped me. Negative experience: Worst haircut of my life … and I used to go to Great Clips. Stylist gave me two different cuts on each side and totally hacked the back. They admitted, “I’m really not a good listener” during our too personal conversation. Major red flag! I was a walk-in. I will not return to the Floyd’s on Colfax.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t had a good stylist for almost a year here, until today. I had Michael, and not only is he super cool and he’s in the same place (kind of) that I’m at, he’s just down to earth and you don’t feel like you’re bothering him like I’ve felt with the lest 6 or 8 stylists I’ve had.
