Negative experience: Had Jason to cut my 16 yr old son’s hair for the first time and will not ever use him again. My son showed him a picture of how he wanted it cut which was something of a modern mullet. My son has thick curly hair and expressed to Jason that people always cut his hair shorter than what he ask for and I be Damned if he didn’t cut all of my sons curls off the top and back, way shorter than what he asked for. Called back up there to let him know he wasn’t happy and he tried telling me he didn’t even cut the top of his hair, a blatant lie. Jason took it upon himself to cut it and do what he referred to as cute cut.. Cute is for toddlers, my son is 16. Plan on talking to the manager for a refund because my son thinks it would be better to just buzz cut it all off because it’s the absolute worst haircut he has ever received. People like Jason who don’t listen to their customers has no business cutting hair!

Fantastic experience: Ken did great and left me with a new style that I enjoy. It was time to switch it up from Great Clips and I'll definitely be going back here. The atmosphere was friendly and professional. It's been a few days and I still feel great about the cut.

Fantastic experience: First time visit. Online appointment was easy. I needed advice on a hair style as was not happy with previous cuts. My stylist did an amazing job and I am quite happy with results. I felt a bit spoiled with facial hot towel during wash and shampoo and the shoulder massage tool. All included in the price. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: $42 for a kids haircut when the site said $32? That's wild. Haircut was okay but not for the price Edited: unfortunately I wasn't at the appt with my son but my wife said the upcharge was for a fade on the side. The fade is wildly uneven and so is the rest of the haircut.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time here and definitely the best hair style I've ever received. Jess was very precise on my fade and got my entire hairstyle the best I could have ever asked for. I will definitely be returning here from now on. Jess is the real deal.

Negative experience: This place used to be great. I have gotten my hair cut and ear, nose, and eyebrows waxed here many times. But they hardly ever have anyone here when I need a waxing, always seem busy over the phone. However, when I show up in person, they don't ever have anyone in here. But they never seem to have anyone to do waxing.

Fantastic experience: WOWWW… JUST WOW. I decided to spend a little bit more on a better haircut then my typical sports clips cut. And boy am I happy I chose too. I did the Trademark cut and got Christina who I would HIGHLY recommend, she is a master of the art. She was just so pleasant to be around. She cut my hair perfectly and on point. Sure it may be a little bit more pricey but It was totally worth it, at least for me. I got everything I wanted and MORE! Even a free beer. What more can I ask for from my hair cutting place! I will be back!!!

Negative experience: Terrible Experience! It was my first time visiting this place after seeing all the good reviews. I checked their website to see if they accept walk-ins and to find out how much they charge for a haircut. The price was listed as $25 for card payments and $24 for cash. Upon arrival, however, the price advertised in the store was $32. I thought, "Yeah, that’s normal with this economy; prices have gone up." When the stylist asked how I wanted my hair, I explained and showed her a picture (above), asking for the exact haircut. You can see what I got in the picture above. At checkout, she charged me $42! I didn’t want to ask or argue because I was so disappointed with the haircut. I did respond to their text survey and told them about the price discrepancy. I just checked their website, and they have removed the pricing. I think I will press charges for fraud.

Fantastic experience: Easy scheduling online, stylist was very quick in a good way, seemed to take about half the time compared to previous places. And the most important part the wife was happy with how my hair looked afterwards.

Negative experience: First off the haircut was great. The issue is the rude, condescending attitude of the woman at the reception desk. Very impolite. Did not greet me when I came in. About ten minutes later she called out to me asking if I had an appointment. I answered I did. She then just rudely waved me over. I learned the person was the manager of the location. I learned this because one of the stylists came over to me to apologize for the “managers” behavior.

Negative experience: If you need a haircut that requires any type of depth please avoid. In response to owner: I would rather not repeat as a customer to a business that directly went against directions given by me verbally and visually, just for the sake of taking a shot at having a better experience. It says a lot about you as a business when your first reaction to a negative review is to blame the customer for it. Thanks for the offer to fix it, but you cannot fix a cut that is incredibly shorter than what was requested, unless you have a state of the art growth acceleration product that I haven’t heard of.

Positive experience: Call in and try to get an appointment the same day. Otherwise, you will have to schedule for the next day through the website. The sign in process is annoying just to get a haircut. Prices keep going up, but, it is Cary, so, what can you do??

Fantastic experience: First time going here for a haircut/beard trim. For me I’m always nervous getting my haircut by a new barber/stylist because it can be a little awkward if you don’t already know them due to the fact that they’re in your personal space and also because me, myself, I’m a nervous/awkward person in general. Rebecca was my barber/stylist and she was fantastic! The experience was not at all awkward as she was very friendly and great to talk too! Will definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: I was a first time walk-in here. I was greeted quickly and pleasantly. A short time later they said I would have to make an appointment and the next one was at 4:00 o’clock. I said today and she said yes. This was at 20 minutes to 4:00 and I said sign me up. I found this to be very nice but humerous as well. I returned at 4:00 and was immediately introduced to Lindsey. She asked how I wanted my haircut and immediately went to work. She did a fantastic job in no time at all. We chatted and laughed throughout the entire process. It was a pleasant, timely and well done haircut experience. They are my go to place from now on.

I was very apprehensive, but Steph made the event very pleasant and went the extra mile of helping us to be able to donate my hair. Wonderful experience. Negative experience: I showed up to my appt 8 minutes late, I admit I was late. Received a call while I was getting out of my car about my missed appt. I informed her I was in the parking lot but I understood if they couldn't see me. Her response was "well you are late, I'll check with the stylist".... but I didn't care for the attitude, she literally sounded like the girl from Madea's movie screaming "Byrrrrooooonnnnn".... so I politely said thanks but no thanks. I wanted to relax but that didn't seem like it would be possible. Anyway, I felt bad that the stylist went without an appointment. Generally speaking, it appears this spot gets good reviews, but the customer service from the lady that called was atrocious. Best of luck and Happy New Year!

Negative experience: I gave a 5-star rating a month ago, today it's one star. Checked in for my 3 o'clock appointment, I was weakly acknowledged by the designated check-in person (they seem to rotate). The person I was scheduled with called two others after my appointment time, no one told me that she was behind or that the appointment app wasn't working. They took no responsibility for the appointment ("it's a third party app"). I will not patronize a business that can't get the customer service piece right. All they had to say was, whoops, there's a double booking. Friendly, capable stylists, able to make reservation HAVE TO TAKE THIS BACK or walk in, nice having the hair wash included.

Always have had a good/great experience (say a 7 or 8 out of 10), but today Rebecca blew my socks off. 10/10. She is polite, personable, and professional. Negative experience: I went there today for the first time and the last. I went in and showed a pic of what I wanted needless to say I didn’t get what I wanted. Then when I got back to the home I realized that the fade wasn’t faded all the way. Fast forward a few hours later, I notice that Thalia missed 2 patches of long hair around my left ear but the right ear was cut right. I do not recommend for $40.

Fantastic experience: Been going to the guys place for years. Tried all of their competitors. The guys place is the best of all! And the Dillard Road in Cary, North Carolina, is the best so far with friendly and skilled staff. All of the other locations are very good also. Never been disappointed yet. I am an easy customer. I don’t have much hair but what little I do have they do a great job with it!

Positive experience: My two boys and I have been getting cuts from TGP since it first opened and was called the barbershop I think. The staff have almost always been friendly and remain so. However, when Eneyda left, we've struggled to find a stylist that is as personable and skilled as her. She always seemed to enjoy her work and fully invest in our customer experience. The fact that she was a stellar stylist that always provided a great product was icing. TGP extras like the wash and dry and massages feel more "begrudginely delivered" these days (when delivered at all). The three stars indicate the service remains fine and the people pleasant but something was lost for the etheridge boys when eneyda left.

Fantastic experience: This is my go to place for haircuts. For $25 you get a haircut, neck massage, hot towel, beard trim and shampoo. If that's not a deal then I don't know what is. On top of that they do a great job of cutting your hair too! What else could a guy want @ The Guys Place? Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My first experience with The Guys' Place was at a different location and, while the stylist was good, the front desk person was rude and the whole appointment seemed very rushed. I tried again and came to the Cary location. Everyone was nice and professional, but I still feel like they book clients too close together and end up rushed or behind a lot. Even so, they seem to manage that much better at this location. And I'm still giving five stars, regardless of any other factors, because Rebecca is absolutely awesome! My haircuts have been pleasant experiences and the results are great. I always get the neck shave, too, which is a nice, added touch. I will continue to be a client!

Fantastic experience: First visit with Melissa. We thoroughly reviewed my hair and formed a plan for todays cut. She checked her progress with me and I gave feedback which was followed well.The result was a very satisfied customer.

Negative experience: I have anxiety, so that may have been a barrier to my having a better experience. I should have communicated the problems I had with my stylist in the moment. The haircut turned out very bad because I did not have clean hair. I wash my hair every other day, and I thought the full service haircut came with a hair wash (it was not brought up, so I guess full service does not come with a hair wash just fyi for anyone else who thought this). Otherwise, I would have washed my hair before the appointment. My stylist would have had a much better idea of what to do with my hair if I came in with it looking like it normally does. My stylist was not friendly, but maybe she was having a bad day or did not like me for some reason, I do not know. I felt like I was more of a burden than a client, which I feel bad for. I should have said more and had a better idea of what I wanted. I just had not had my hair cut in so long because my anxiety disorder is a huge hurdle for me. Also my hair not being clean like it usually is made it difficult to assess the cut at the moment. The experience was overwhelming and I did not feel welcome there, so I will not be returning to this salon to get my hair fixed.

Negative experience: Great when I have a stylist assigned other than Andrew, I have booked appointments with the “first available” and he without fail never shows up for my appointment. Called 5 minutes before my appointment this morning to be told he would be late, again.

Positive experience: This was my first time, and overall it was a good experience. The stylist was nice and conversational, and she gave a great haircut and gray blend. My only issue upon reviewing the services that were supposed to be provided, is that I didn't receive an eyebrow trim or vibrating shoulder massage. I didn't realize these were included until I went to write this review. All in all it was a good experience, but I would make sure to ask for the eyebrow trim and shoulder massage during my next visit.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful experience! Not only does this haircut come with fine amenities (hot cloth, hair-wash, quick massage at the end), but the staff is extremely attentive, kind, and you'll get one of the best haircuts in town. CC took care of me and she was just a delight! I won't go anywhere else (especially not Great Clips!).

Positive experience: Been here multiple times. It can go either way. I'm overall pleased with the place even though I've had some undesired experiences. I was loudly shamed one time since my son's hair had a little dirt in it. He's 7, he plays hard even right before getting his hair cut. I've waited 20+ minutes past my appointment. But - the stylists there are good. Sometimes they get behind. Eneyda is awesome - I'll request her when I return.

Fantastic experience: Heather is my stylist to recommend, I have had a Marine Corp medium reg haircut for 24 years and after moving near here 2 years ago I have been searching for someone who could do it right. I found her!!! Heather is awesome; gets the fade straight and even, trims the top to keep it neat and uniform, and the razor neck shave with the hot towels is worth every penny. She is also a great conversationalist with diverse interests and a calm soothing voice, very relaxing. If there were a way to give her more stars I would.

Fantastic experience: First time here and I will be back again. If you go to Sports Clips, this place is better. The staff seems more knowledgeable and the setup (nice cubicals) made me feel like my stylist stayed focused on my hair the whole time. The cut was only 25$ before tip (please tip) and that included shampoo and a back massage with a gun. Very happy with my results, will reccomend this location going forward. Come to cary though, the Raleigh location seems to have inconsistent reviews.

Fantastic experience: Took my dad and son in for haircuts at the Cary location. This was my son's first straight razor shave and was in preparation for Prom. They did an amazing job with both of the, and C.C. was so great on making him ready for the big event.

Fantastic experience: This location in Cary is so much better than the Apex one. We left the Apex location the day before after “checking in” 10 minutes before the appointment. We waited 20 minutes after the appointment time. Other customers came in and were seen. We were ignored. I inquired after the wait and was told we never checked in. I went back to the specific stylist that said she checked us in, and she looked at me and said she didn’t remember. What?! It’s poorly run. The Cary location greeted us when we arrived, promptly took care of us, and was such a better experience!!

Fantastic experience: Great service. Very friendly, competent, professional. Fast, neat haircuts with other grooming options available. They’ll even wash your hair as part of the haircut service. Maybe a tad more expensive than a basic haircut barbershop, but well worth it. You can call ahead and make an appointment, or try walk-in, but I always make an appointment, because then they’re waiting for me and it just works so well.

Fantastic experience: Took my son to Apex and it was a horrible experience so figured I would attempt to go to a different Guys Place to give them another chance. Deborah gave my son the best hair cut he has ever had. So pleased and we will definitely be making the Cary location our new go to place. Thanks so much!!

Positive experience: Haven't been here in a while, the place is really nice and clean. Cassie took haircut to a creative and awesome look, good for my age. My appointment went well and I am pleased with the haircut.

Negative experience: I have been going to this place for over a year now and have used a few different stylists. I really haven't had any problem with the service until today. I called at 10:17am and 10:18am this morning to see about making an appointment for my haircut. Both times the phone just rang and rang. I figured I would just call later since maybe they had modified hours today. I called again at 11:18am and 11:20am and once more, it rang and rang. My girlfriend and I were going to that area anyway so we drove there to see about my haircut. I got up to the door and see that the lady running the front desk was sitting down in the waiting area, on the phone and with airpods visibly in her ears. No other customers were waiting in that area and upon approaching the counter, she asked if she could help me. I stated that I was interested in a haircut. I also mention that I had trouble getting through on the phone today for which she and another lady nearby that presumably is a hair stylist, both stated that the phones had been working. I shrugged and just reiterated that I called and wanted them to have that feedback, for what it's worth. But interestingly enough, it very much felt like they were trying to say that I was lying. Again, I wasn't mad, just giving that feedback. The nearby hair stylist was even questioning what number I called and that it's on google, as well as the ability of making appointments online. I have tried before to make appointments online but at that time, it wasn't really working. But great, glad it's now working again. I didn't want to further the conversation with her so I told the lady at the counter that I'd like to get my hair cut. She then tells me that it wouldn't be until at least 2:30 now. Hmm...really? This was at 11:30 by now and the place was dead enough for her to be sitting down and 2 hair stylists to come up to the front, obviously not working with anyone. To sum this up, I was able to go down the street and get my haircut with great professionalism, service and a great cut. You allowed me the opportunity to go to a competitor and now will never go back to your business. That might not mean anything to you, but it does to me and now I'll spend my money somewhere where it seems to matter.

Positive experience: A warm and friendly place to get a haircut. But I don’t feel it is worth the price you pay. The haircut was just average. The massage gun service that comes with the haircut is just a business strategy. Although hot towels are a pleasure. I don’t think I’ll be going back.
