Fantastic experience: So far I have been there close to a dozen times for a haircut and beard cut with Adham and I have always left very happy with the way everything was done. In the past at other places sometimes I would think to myself that I looked good but wished something was done slightly different or slightly better. With Adham I feel confident knowing he'll do a great job as always. Its also a very comfortable experience. The owner George is very welcoming and he does a great job of keeping everything high quality. Comfortable waiting room couches, haircut chairs, and great background music. Whats really nice is that its instantly noticable that they keep everything clean and tools sanitized. First time I came it was by walk in and waited about 15 minutes, since then I have always called ahead to make an appointment to be able to sit down right away. In the past I have always went between 10 am and 3 pm, and during those times I have always been able to park directly out front with plently of parking. I cant think of anything negative to say, its everything I would want from a barbershop.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming to this place for over 20 years—even before George took over from the previous owners. I watched him grow his business from the beginning, when he had just arrived in the country and didn’t speak much English. I’ve continued to support his shop, even now driving an hour to get there, and recently started bringing my toddler as well. Today was a turning point. I arrived at 10 AM with my 3-year-old, only to be told that George now only accepts appointments and would take WALK-INS AFTER 2 PM. I respected the new policy and came back after 2, only to be told again—this time, with a straight face—that I’d have to wait until after 4 PM because I didn't make an appointment when I stopped in earlier when he clearly said that he would take walk-ins after 2pm. Despite the fact that my little one had been waiting since the morning, George didn’t show an ounce of concern or flexibility. I asked politely if he could squeeze in a quick cut for a toddler who had been waiting all day, and got nothing in response. After two decades of loyalty and countless referrals, this lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking. I won’t be returning, and I’ll no longer be recommending this place to friends and family. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review, and unfortunately, it’s to express just how let down I feel.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to George’s fades for almost 10 years since his old location. Adam has been my barber for nearly 6-7 years straight. I don’t plan on going anywhere else, they’re the only ones I trust when it comes to getting a fresh fade.

Negative experience: A couple months ago, I got a haircut at this place. It was my second time there. First time was a pleasant experience with the owner George. So decided to go back again. What a nightmare this second time. They had someone else (younger) cut my hair. I believe his name is Adam. The haircut cost $40 + tip and he didn’t even spend 15 mins on the cut. He rushed through it, and was cutting and trimming so aggressively that he gave me cuts and bruises. I politely asked him to slow down, so he started complained to George under his breath. He did not slow down either and acted so done by the end. Imagine paying more than $40 to get this kind of bullying treatment. Needless to say, I haven’t been back since and I recommend you don’t go either. The couple times I went, the place was so empty (on a Saturday!!), and now I know why. Don’t trust the other reviews, those are likely made up accounts by the owner and his friends to negate negative reviews. This place is not worth your money because they are aggressive and have zero customer service skills. If you are too bothered to cut hair, why are you doing this for work..!

Fantastic experience: I was a bridesmaid for a wedding. Diana did a beautiful job on my hair. I showed her an inspiration photo and she was able to copy it. Had pictures taken at 10 30 am and the wedding ended at midnight. My hair still held up well and looked the same! Highly recommend! Negative experience: The worst haircut. I go to x5 Cuts but was in the neighborhood and decided to try these guys out. I asked for a high bald fade and the barber legit just shaved the sides of my head, no fade in sight. He asked if I wanted him to take some off the top. I said just a little since I sponge it. He then proceeds to aggressively pick my hair, yank and tearing, it was absurd. Then he cut half my hair off when I said just a little bit. He did this haircut in 15 MINS. I typically tip $15 on $35. But I left $5 and that was generous to say the least. Do not go here. They do not know what they're doing, especially if you're a black customer.

Negative experience: Adam cut my hair, but I felt like he didn’t want to. He was careless and unprofessional , literally told him that the two side doesn’t look same, at the end he just took off the apron without asking me if it’s okay. He spent like 12 or 15 minutes ⏰like he was in a rush. I read many good reviews. But these five Star ⭐️ reviews looks so fake. ‼️don’t waste your money . Fantastic experience: George is incredibly nice, welcoming, and understanding. There was an issue with the app that said my appt. was cancelled, I called, he said it was still ok for me to come in and he was ready when I arrived. He apologized multiple times about the app and that he worked the issue out to ensure that myself and the other client he was expecting could still get their haircuts. He took care of the issues with ease which let’s me know that he does care for his clients and is willing to accommodate for them. I let him know it wasn’t his fault because that much is true. He was careful in his craft, took his time, asked me about my day and what I do, and we chatted a bit. I don’t like when I’m talking throughout my cuts entirely and I did not feel that way with George which I appreciated so I felt comfortable and taken care of. The tools are kept clean and tidy, the shop itself is kept clean and is huge, I’m surprised it’s not packed! And the inclusivity of having a salon for women and female identifying individuals right next door is something you don’t often see. I’m pleased with the service and I like the cut (though it was out of my comfort zone trying something new that I CHOSE) and George let me know that if I didn’t like it I could always come back no appt. needed and he would fix it. So far, I don’t see a need to come back to fix my hair because he did great! If anything, I’ll be coming back for more cuts and will recommend his shop to everyone!

Fantastic experience: New to the area. For the last 5.5 years I have been getting my hair cut by the same professional. I was looking for a good fade for my sides and beard. I was able to make an appt the same day with a professional named Anky. I felt like I recieved a consult which I decided was worth a bigger tip. Respect. The next day I brought my son. Fantastic experience: I got my first, and definitely not last, haircut at George’s today from the man himself. The reviews looked good so I made a same day appointment easily with booksy. It also seemed like a walk in would have been ok. The shop is super cool, very clean, and all the staff appear to know what they are doing. George gave me the clean, sharp, classic look I was going for, complete with an after shave finish on my neck (I did not get a fade). I love that we have great options like George’s Fade in Chicago.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful. I walked in and there was a barber already open (though it might have been my luck - I arrived at ~12:12 pm today (April 4) as of this review). With such excellent quality and service, I highly recommend this place and would go to this place to get a haircut again in the future. Edit (March 12, 2022): After ~two years since this review, I WISH I could rate this over five stars. George's Fade Salon's staff have (in my experience) been amazing every single time I have scheduled an appointment. While the price is a bit costly in my opinion (more like my mother's opinion but oh well), the wonderful staff and the quality of the haircut justify the pricing.

Negative experience: Been going here for over a year now and the guys are legit. They are attending and attentive to how you want your haircut to look. And their attention to detail is superior to other barbershops I've been to. Hair cuts are $10 which is a good deal for the quality you get. Got Eddie this time around and couldn't be more pleased with the end result. He took his time and I did not feel rushed. I would recommend him if he's available. 5/5 Edit: I used to be a regular at George's for the past 4 years and had no issues before. However, in the recent past year, Goerge has raised the price of a haircut/fade from $15 to $35. One time I came and was surprised it was raised to $25, and my brother who goes there as well told me the other day they raised it to $35!! He was a regular as well and decided not to get cut there. When I asked George the reason of the price raises he told me it was due to the purchase of new supplies. Really? We're in a pandemic, less customers, less money, and yet George thought it was a smart idea to buy more new supplies and RAISE the prices for his customers. I got to admit that was a stupid idea due on his part. Or he could he making up reasons to account for jacking up his prices. I'm going to find a new barber that does charge an arm and leg and doesn't lie. I don't trust George nor his employees. They are too shady for me.

Fantastic experience: I have now consistently been coming here for approximately 3 months and every time has never failed to give me precisely the exact haircut and beard lineup I was looking for. Appointment times are always respected and prioritized, and even without an appointment time service is still swift. Specifically, the barber ANKY is great at fading and blending both the hair and beard, leaving a perfect ratio of desired length with cleanliness and evenness. Routinely Anky has been able to both trim and fade my hair as well as beard, line up and blend the two and do so both in a very short period of time for a competitively low price. I would recommend George's Fade Salon, and their barber Anky to almost anyone

Negative experience: He knows himself very well. He’s rough with the machine and he doesn’t cut carefully. He’s careless the other barbers are better than him. Please I don’t want to point fingers but please a sincere message to all barbers please don’t be rough with the machines because it damages or skin when we clean up. And don’t be careless when lining us up.

I had given them 5 stars, but last Sunday, I walked in and there was a discussion with another client that they were not taking appointments on that day. The client waited their turn as well as I did, but as soon as it was my turn they skipped me and told me that another client, who arrived after me, had an appointment. Fantastic experience: This place is truly the best haircut joint I've been to in my life. Since I've started coming here almost a year ago when I lived close by, I've never had a bad haircut, not even a mediocre haircut. I've seen George, Anki, and Adam and all three are amazing (Anki is my guy though). They always aim to leave you pleased and they take their time to get it right. Everyone here is awesome. I still come back even though I've moved to the West Loop and even though there's a barbershop right next to where I live. Not gonna change it up. Don't hesitate to come here!

He surprised us and went from almost shoulder length hair to a fade. Looks great!! Both my baby boys have had only one or two haircuts other places which were okay.. A little fussy so I expected that much. To my surprise, they both sat so well with zero fuss... Could just be they are getting older but I firmly believe that the woman cutting their hair was just EXCELLENT! She was so kind, calm, and patient. She was able to give both boys a tight fade also!
