Fantastic experience: We went to Tommy Guns this morning. My little guy (3y/o) HATES hair cuts. I have to say, the level of patience, professionalism, non-judgement, and most of all care and warmth towards both my little one and me was OUT OF THIS world. I felt so bad for all the men who went there for a nice relaxing experience as my little one sure screamed the place down, and will go there next time at non-peak hours. But no one said a thing, and as a parent I couldnt retract from the mission I had set (rewards prepped for getting it done) and my little guy picked the coolest place to get his hair done. A MASSIVE thank you. Not only did you get it done - its the best haircut he has had by a long shot!!

I especially love the warm towel at the end – it leaves you feeling perfectly neat and ready to go. The shop is always spotlessly clean. My last two visits were with Riz, and she was incredible! Negative experience: The barber I got was completely distracted the whole time as he on his phone constantly, barely paying attention to what he was doing. Felt more like I was an inconvenience than a customer. On top of that, the guy looked like he hadn’t showered in a week, smelled awful, and his breath was even worse. The actual haircut? Rushed and sloppy. Lines were uneven, and he didn’t even bother asking how I wanted it styled. I left feeling like I just paid to be disrespected. Definitely not coming back.

Fantastic experience: Who needs therapy when you have Tommy Gun's Barbershop. Riz at Glenfield is an absolute legend in the game and I refuse to see anyone else. Every few months I chop and change my style going back and forth between crew cut and old school slick back (both with the skin fade) and every time she absolutely nails it, makes me feel like a god damn boss. Apart from her epic skills on the clippers, the thing I respect the most is her taking the time to allways listen to my stories and even throws the yarns back. The laughs and good times are endless. She takes a lot of pride in her cuts and tools, and never rushes anything. She will give her best advice on what you want done, even long term. The price is on the high side for a style cut, but the service is spot on and worth it. Shout out to Jo as well for running a tight ship!

Fantastic experience: Thought I’d get a quick haircut before darting off to the South Island. Overall, Great service, lovely staff. They are friendly and hang your coat, give you a complimentary beverage all in all great experience. That being said, the standard haircut was around $49. Because I liked the experience I told them to add 15% tip. She used a calculator (which I would too) but still charged just over $64. 30% tip) maybe she misheard and just added a straight $15, but I didn’t realise until I was over a hour away. Shame. Just double check the maths / payment. Update: They quickly reached out and apologised for the genuine mistake offered to make amends. Would still recommend/return to this barber.

My mate V cuts my hair, I get a skin fade modern mullet, V has recomended me hair products that work well with my hair. The overall atmosphere of the shop and the friendliness of all the barbers at Tommy Gun's was second to none, Ace showed deep understanding of what it takes to be a barber and his skills didn't disappoint. He was calm when cutting and made sure I as a customer was comfortable and happy with the fade, definitely one of the best at Tommy Gun's. Looking forward to my next cut at Tommy Gun's, Pricing is cheap and definitely one of, if not the best barbers around East Auckland. Ace is a gun barber and an overall great bloke.
