Bonnie & Clyde Barber shop city centre Cardiff

Negative experience: Got my hair cut here on Thursday while passing through Cardiff. But this was just a reminder of why I don't go to barbers. Walked in and the atmosphere was already uninviting, three lads were sat on their phones looked up at me like I'd somehow found a secret entrance to their living room. The young guy on the first chair directed to me sit and when I tell you he could not have made it more obvious he did not want to be cutting my hair or doing anything at all really. There was no eye contact, no talking, a general air of "let's just get you out as soon as possible". I really cannot express enough how bored and vaguely annoyed he seemed to be, doing his job. At the very least you expect 5 to 10 minutes of conversation around what you're looking for and some input from the barber. There was none. I have curly hair and a certain faceshape and he could not have cared less about finding out about what I wanted. I got given the most basic barber short back and sides. He cut the top so that everything was the same length, couldn't be bothered to cut in layers and texture, and so with my hair texture I now have a shapeless blob that sits on top of my head. There was no blending so now I have this blocky crap haircut that doesn't suit my face. I really wish I hadn't stopped by on a whim here. Don't be fooled by the photos on Google or the stupid decor, this isn't a welcoming place for men to get a haircut. Do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else.

Negative experience: Honestly, terrible. Sat on the third chair from the front door. What is the point in asking me what I want with my hair when they are going to do what they want. I specifically asked for a low taper on the sides and pointed how high I would like it which is just below the tip of my ear. Why is it then he cuts it higher than what I specified? I mentioned as he cut “not too high please” and he nodded and continued to go higher. The “low taper fade” finished just under my hairline. Ridiculous. Additionally, the cut took longer than expected especially since all i want was my sides done. Should’ve seen the signs that it wasn't going to be good haircut when all his equipment was a mess and in the bowl of the sink… This isn't my first experience in this barber as I’ve given it multiple chances. Depending on who is cutting the hair, the cut can be great and there are very talented barbers there but I’ve had a very bad experience with some of the barbers there and getting the cut I wanted felt like a gamble. This was on new years eve and they have mentioned it being busy and I understand if you are tired but id rather not get a hair cut than get one thats not what I requested and eventually have to pay for.

Negative experience: It has been twice now that I get a trim at this place and then when I get home and have a proper up close look I find out that I paid way too much money for such a lousy job. Uneven lines, uneven fades, neck not cleaned up properly...

Out of all The barbers I’ve been too with my 2 year old grandson this has been the best one yet. my grandson despise having his hair cut and Eric made it fun! Not only does Eric have the patience of a saint and understanding of upset children not liking their haircut we had the privilege of Eric even singing to calm my grandson, he made it work!! All in all 10/10! Ask for Eric if you want a young child’s hair cut. Top man. Thank you ☺️ x

Fantastic experience: Had a walk-in haircut on my lunch break today. There were two gents having their haircut when I walked in. I waited for approximately 5 minutes before one had finished, I asked what I wanted done, and fairplay to the chap that had done my hair. It's one of the best cuts I've had. Not a bit of hair down my back, which was brilliant. 100% recommend and will definitely be returning.
