Negative experience: You ruined my boyfriends hair. He spent ages growing out his mullet and you cut it all off! Did not listen to what he asked for at all and now he is extremely self conscious. Not a good experience considering you get such high reviews.

Fantastic experience: It was really good! I got exactly what I asked for. The sides were thinned out and blended towards the top, the top was cut evenly and shaped well for my head shape. I didn't want too much cut off, but enough for my hair to grow out nicely, which is what I got. I'll come again in the coming months

Negative experience: Horrible Experience I just moved to Southampton and was looking for a barber to stick for long-run. I was a walk-in customer and they said that they have an slot so I can get a haircut. Guy gave a haircut and than refused to do my beard because they said we have next appointment and charged 20 pounds for only haircut (Fading) and said come again to pay another 15 pounds for beard (i asked how much its combined heard and haircut - 25 pounds) than why I was charged 20 pounds just for haircut and than refused to get my beard done? Please do not waste your money here. I am looking like a fool. The fade is also just terrible. Now I am doing my beard own my own at home as I have to travel to Manchester tonight.

Fantastic experience: Leif is top notch. I have had many bad haircuts, but I cannot say that I have ever had a great haircut before now. Leif changed that. Excellent cut and very enjoyable conversation as well. Will be returning, for sure.

Negative experience: The following story has now been resolved as of today, 3rd Dec. I was given a full refund as well as an offer of a free haircut. I have recieved the full refund but I don't plan on going here again so free haircut won't be applicable. They also have given an apology as well as a reason that it was because the barbers tool was unbalanced (something like that - I don't remember the exact message). This wouldn't have stopped the barber from noticing what he did so reason is definitely lacking. Regardless, I still wouldn't recommend going here, too expensive for an average cut. £17 for the cut including student discount, got a fade (wasn't even any where near to a good fade) and guy left painful red marks on back of neck with trimmer. I didn't ask but no apology or discount given. Don't ever go here is my best advice. Barbers name was Ronnie B.

Fantastic experience: Been getting my hair cut by Leif for 11 years now and I'll always follow him wherever he's working. It is however really good to be back at Bennett and Merritt with the rest of the lads. With the work they've put in to add the coffee bar makes an already fantastic barbers even better. The coffee tastes incredible and is a fantastic addition.

Whether it's talking sports, favorite place for grub, or just shootin' the bull, Bennett and Merritt bring it. Ronnie was straight up and professional. He took his time, but he was also deliberate and quick. I highly recommend this place, whether it's a beard trim or hair cut, they do a great job.

Relaxing atmosphere & the recent refurb has a really good industrial look to it keeping it up to date. If your not getting your haircut from these guys already then your probably not at one of the best barber shops in Southampton!

Fantastic experience: Very good. Visited for the first time and sat with Dylan to get my beard trimmed and lined up. I’ll admit that I’m really picky and have been to quite a few places in the area. This is definitely the best experience I’ve had. Listened to what I wanted, executed it really well and checked in throughout. Happy with the outcome - sharp & looks good. I will definitely be back.

I get my haircut regularly cut by Glenn who always does a great job and and is so reliable.
