Fantastic experience: Genuinely wouldn’t go to another barbers. I’d go as far to say that they’re the best in Southampton maybe even Hampshire. Emily cuts my hair and I’ve never not loved it.

Negative experience: I had booked an appointment with Doyle, and the booking was confirmed. However, when I checked my email this morning, I found out it had been canceled without any explanation. This is extremely disappointing service.

Fantastic experience: Got my hair cut by Doyle and can definitely say it was the best barbering experience I’ve had. Just genuine good vibes around the shop and services are amazing. I struggled to find a barber who was able to cut my longer hair with curls into the style I wanted but Doyle understood my vision instantly, defo found my new barber.

Negative experience: Had a booking for 4:30, firstly my booking was changed to a different barber since the original person i had booked with was unable to do my service, and i was phoned by a lovely lady to let me know. i was getting an uber to the barber since i don't live near, i was running about 5 minutes late so i phoned up to let them know, i was told that it was ok. I arrived at 4:38 due to some unexpected traffic. I walked into the barber shop and was told that the barber was unable to take me since he had someone else coming, i was confused as to why since i had booked and i had also called to warn about my lateness. I was told that i could be fit in tomorrow or that i could cancel the appointment with no charge. I chose to cancel the appointment but I'm a-bit pissed off since i had spent money on an uber there, and spent money on an uber home and had no service, there was no contact from the barber to tell me he wont be able to take me, even after i called to say i was late. ended up being completely waste of time and money and im slightly disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism either way im aware that the barbers in this establishment are very talented and they are also very busy. Edit after reply; Notice how they can never admit they are wrong?… i was in at 4:38 because i had checked the time on my phone… if u have proof of me arriving 15 minutes late please email to me. I have read the other reviews of people who have had bad experiences and i have come to the conclusion that you evidently struggle to admit when you have made a mistake! No doubt in some situations the customer will be wrong but it just seems odd how in every negative review you reply to, you are always right Thats strange to me! I also don't respect your patronising attitude “i suggest you leave to your appointments earlier” its very clear you have some issues and a very high ego! Have a nice day but also please consider that some times it is YOUR FAULT!! :)

They take the time to get to know you and what you'd like from your haircut. It's a relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy a coffee and are never made to feel rushed.

Fantastic experience: Em was great. Unlike a lot of barbers I've been too they gave me the cut I asked for with no judgement. I also appreciated that they were honest with me about what they could and couldn't do to my hair due to my previous haircut whereas a lot of hairdressers I have had , said they could do something and then didn't so I really appreciated the honesty so I knew what to expect.

Fantastic experience: I have had my hair cut here for the last 18 months, with a range of hairdressers/barbers. All have been excellent. When compared to other local barbers, you'll find that the staff at Cresswell Barbers actually listen to what you want, can cut a range of styles and know what they are doing! I've found coming away with a decent trim will always lift my confidence, so going somewhere you can trust to do a great job is super important.

Natalie and the whole team are absolutely amazing and make everyone that steps in that shop feel confident and look so good! Charlie is the absolute best of many barbers I have been to. He is so talented and passionate about his job, always trying to make sure my haircuts are exactly what I wanted and that I leave the barbershop happy. After having a buzzcut for three years, Charlie has made me fall in love with my hair all over again. Absolutely wonderful barbershop and team, could not be happier with my choice!

Fantastic experience: Today was my first visit to Cresswell Barbershop, and I can say that I was amazed by the professional level and barbers knowledge. A barber named Leif did a skin fade for me today, and I can say that I have never seen such a barber before who is very knowledgeable, a perfectionist and pays attention to every detail. Leif did answer any questions regarding the haircut/hairstyle and did give me advice on how the hairstyle would look better. As I am very demanding when it comes to haircuts/hairstyles Leif did a remarkable job, couldn't be happier about the result. General atmosphere in barbershop was positive and relaxed, this is the best barbershop I have been to. Thank you Leif for lovely chat and professional service.

Fantastic experience: Booked for the first time today and had an appointment with the lovely Tori. I had booked a luxury facial and a scissor cut and let me tell you I left there feeling like a new person! 10000% recommend!!!

Negative experience: Harsh policy for rescheduling and cancellation (requires 24 hours in advance). Difficult to find parking near the shop. The barber left soon after the client failed to appear on time, and the client still got charged even no service was provided.

Fantastic experience: Got another haircut today by Charles! I have been going to Cresswell for a while now and it's an incredible business! Extremely professional and always provides high quality service with a reasonable price. All members of the team are attentive and have a great eye for detail. They accommodate to almost every kind of style. One of the main reasons I love Cresswell is because of their LGBT+ inclusivity. There is no judgement. I have always felt safe when sat in one of their chairs! I would recommend to everyone

Fantastic experience: I have been using with the same style of haircut for 29 years. Actually, going to the barbershop is a phobia for me. I don't remember ever having shaved fondly. I made a radical decision and spoke to Emily in a not so good English. I left myself to her. We exchanged ideas constantly and a new me emerged. I definitely recommend it. I'm sure the other barbers out there are very skilled also. The other reason why it was a different experience for me was that I am a Turk and not going to the classical traditional Turkish barber for the first time. I have absolutely no regrets, I even felt very comfortable and cool here.

Nat and Bethan have both been cutting my hair for a few years now but there are no weak links in the team and wouldn’t hesitate using one of the other team as they are all ridiculously talented. Fantastic experience: I came into Cresswell today for a hair trim and a restyle, and I am so impressed with the cut and the service I received from Bethan, and the other stylists for that matter. I’m a masculine presenting woman, and needed a fix up on my hairstyle. Bethan, my stylist, was extremely helpful and communicative. They took my wants and needs into account and cut my hair brilliantly. The back of my hair was tapered to perfection, and I am very happy with the overall style I have in my hair now. I asked many questions, and every query was answered in strict detail, so that I could understand entirely, and I left knowing exactly what I needed to look my best self the next time I come back. Not only was Bethan very welcoming, but as my mum and I walked out of the barbers, every stylist said bye to us, which was really nice, as it felt like they all knew us. The decoration is extremely well thought out too, with a mixture of an authentic barber shop look, with vintage looking chairs, and a young skater sort of vibe. Both me and my mum were really impressed with the whole experience, and I can say with confidence that I will absolutely be returning to Cresswell for my next cut, and probably so will my dad and brother! Finally, a place that can cut my hair right!! Thank you so much!

My daughter had been desperate to cut her VERY long hair off for a while but I wasn't very confident in trusting anyone to do it. We decided to pop down to the barbers on bank holiday Monday and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Emily. We had a full consultation beforehand, and we were made to feel very comfortable throughout the whole experience. I felt a bit sick as the long plaits were cut off, but seeing my daughters smile made it all worth while. Ithought it was great that the 2 other barbers in the shop were brought in at points to discuss best decisions with the cut.
