He’s got insane attention to detail, making sure every fade is smooth, every line is crisp, and everything blends flawlessly. No matter the style, Carlo always delivers, and he somehow makes the whole experience feel relaxed and professional at the same time. You can tell he really takes pride in his work, and it shows in every haircut. If you want to walk out feeling confident and fresh, Carlo is the guy to go to.

Fantastic experience: Joe was my barber. He did such a good job with asking what I was looking for. But I gave him free reign on the style. To get some suggestions and did an incredible job. There's a lot of good chatting and a lot of good warmth in the retro environment

Positive experience: Trevor and Brenda were great at the Pembina location: friendly, good listeners and professional, but the barber who arrived at 2pm when we were leaving was rude and when my husband went back in to shave a part that they missed, this guy was dismissive and rude. It was our first visit and he soured it.

I tried my best not to skip my way back home and walk like the adult that I am, but he genuinely gave me the best haircut I’ve had probably since my childhood and I could not help it. The cut is beautiful. He actually listens. I came in fully prepared to overexplain my style and what I wanted, but he truly understood the assignment. I showed him a few reference photos and he asked which one I liked the most. I pointed it out and he said he could do it. I didn’t think it was possible on my hair, but he was right. He nailed it. The shape, the texture, the layers. Exactly what I wanted even when I thought I couldn’t have it. This was my first experience at a barber, and I felt genuinely welcome. Talented work, unbeatable price, definitely a returning customer.

Fantastic experience: Ibrahim always cuts my son’s hair. He will not let anyone else do it. The hours are great and your parking options are better than you might think. There’s a great vibe … no shenanigans. Good old fashioned customer service, great cuts from all I’ve seen and a clientele that seems to agree with me. It’s super easy to book your appointment. Never put on hold. We’re happy we come here. Thick curly hair is a blessing and curse at a times but we always walk out looking great. Check them out. You can’t go wrong.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Jane for a couple of years now. She’s the best. When I first started going to her, my hair wouldn’t grow and wasn’t doing very well. Jane has made it so healthy that it’s growing so fast and couldn’t be happier with the colour and cut. I can’t image going anywhere else.

Negative experience: Not LGBT+ friendly. Used to market themselves as such. Nothing overtly malicious happened but was not a positive experience. Heard similar stories from other openly lgbt+ people.

All the staff are super friendly and inviting as well, definitely will come throughout my time in this country. Extra points for having Hot Mulligan playing, but five stars even without.

Fantastic experience: First timer getting a haircut this month from Joe. Overall the atmosphere in the shop is awesome, chill wholesome conversations. While the barbers/staff are very approachable for any questions or stories clients may share. Also, every where you look in the shop there is an interesting nostalgic piece of art; American, Canadian and Manitoba gems from pop-culture, sports, movies and landmarks.

Fantastic experience: Spent years getting my haircuts wherever was nearby at the moment I needed a cut. Then I found Hunter & Gunn (shout out to my guy, Joe). Now I won't go anywhere else and will schedule cuts weeks in advance to make sure I get in when I know I'll need a good one. Always comes with a great cut, great convo, and I'm in-and-out in no time at all.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for about 2 years. Customer service is always great. I have medium length hair and Joe cuts it better than any barber I’ve ever had. Also everyone else with short or long hair come out looking just as good no matter what barber. Very reasonable price and expect friendly nice conversation. HIGHLY recommend!!

Negative experience: My bf got his hair cut here and they did a really bad job. He had really nice long hair and only asked for a little trim but the barber botched his hair AND his beard. He cut it too short and didnt follow the instructions properly and did whatever he felt like doing. Definately do not recommend getting your hair cut here. My bf didnt have the heart to say anything to the barber cause he said that the barber was a nice guy, but he was really disappointed with the haircut he received.

Negative experience: Came in for a walk-in today. Wanted to treat myself to some self care in preparation for my house warming and a big trip I’m taking. I wanted to feel extra good about myself! I explained to my barber that I’ve had really bad experiences in the past and my hair just started to grow back in the last 6 months after cancer treatment. I explained that I was pretty easy going but it was really important to me to keep my front chemo curls long and swept to the side. He was a very kind man but he swung me around so I couldn’t see and then when the cut was over he spun me back around and he had cut off almost all my hair. Not a single curl to be found on my head. And left me with tiny straight across micro-bangs! Not at all what we discussed! Im devastated, and it was a hit to my confidence that I really can’t take right now. I’m honestly contemplating shaving my head… I really had faith in this barber shop. I would recommend to anyone queer, or fem presenting unfortunately.

Positive experience: This was the first barbershop I found in Winnipeg and had a great experience with initial visits until the last visit. Walk-in stylists have all been amazing except one, where they didn't even clean up their space and even their shears and clippers after each customer. They seemed very "off". Hopefully this stylist does not work there anymore, as all other staff have been fantastic.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service called in before I visit to double check if they are taking walk ins they said yes let them know will be there soon. Fantastic experience: My husband, my teenage daughter, and I have all had our hair cut at Hunter & Gunn multiple times and have always been satisfied by their work, their friendliness, and fair prices. Most importantly, they do not charge a "pink tax" like almost all other barbers/salons do, meaning that they do not charge more for women's haircuts; regardless of your sex organs, you pay the same price. I encourage all women to visit this barber. Please don't think they cater only to men, in fact, they will treat you better, and more fairly, than the fancier, girly salons that want to charge 20-40% extra to cut women's hair (and most women are dumb enough to happily pay this "pink tax"). As for men, know that they do a wonderful job on beards as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALL HUMANS!!!

Negative experience: Hate to say it because the barbers are very friendly & enjoyable to talk to but I am 0 for 2 on haircuts here. Once half an hour is up you are done whether the shop is empty or full and they don't show you the back when they're done either.

Positive experience: Great haircut experience. It’s super convenient to book an appointment through their app or the website. You can even select your hair stylist if you a preference. So far I’ve found all of their staff to be cool and they do a good job. The place has a chill atmosphere with a large couch for you to relax as you wait for your turn. Location is great if you’re close to Downtown or the city centre.

Positive experience: 3 stars because I never got my hair cut by them, so can’t speak to their talent, but an unreliable business. It is misleading to say that they take walk ins, but simply book you an appointment for hours later. After showing up for my slot, was told that it would be “maybe another half hour 45 minutes” until she could get to me. Would recommend just finding another place if you value your time.

Fantastic experience: My son and I are travelled to Winnipeg for family affairs and both needed a trim. I found the shop on Google maps. While one's no 1 reasons to go to barber is not the atmosphere and the people both of us found that the total experience was worthwhile and came out looking and feeling good. Positive experience: Decent cuts ... they have a sign on the wall that states they don’t tolerate the intolerant. It’s confusing why ... and it’s angry. Can I just get a haircut without hate or ppl hating haters? Do ppl understand hating haters is hateful? And annoying ......

My go to place unless they are too busy! Also cheaper than Tommy Gun's... Which isnt worth the free water or coke zero!

Negative experience: I asked 8 times to not give me a 1-2 and the kid still gave me the worst 1-2 possible, my hair looks like a mushroom. Modern barbers know how to do a fade and nothing else, not everyone wants a military haircut.

Can get his hair done and be at school before he receives a late slip. The staff were pleasant and engaging. Most of all my son loves his cut and going there.

Fantastic experience: I went there for the first time today for a haircut. The place has a vintage barbershop vibe, you get greeted by multiple people, and my haircut was just on time. Kim did a great job in sticking to what I wanted but also adding her touch. Suzy accommodated me for a beard trim after my haircut although I hadn’t booked it, and it was great. Definitely going there again.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love going for my haircuts here! From the first time I walked in a couple of years ago, it's warm, inviting and the staff are all wonderful! I see Suzy on a regular basis and she's very friendly, she remembers her regular customers, always asks how I'm doing and not just on general she remembers our conversations and cares a great deal about her customer! I highly recommend going there for a cut! The price is right, they are community based, and all around wonderful! 5 Stars for sure!!
