Fantastic experience: I’ll be honest, I was initially quite intimated heading into this barber shop - it just didn’t seem to gel with my vibe but as soon as I sat down with Harrison I was instantly put at eeze, he was articulate, attentive to my needs and explained what his thoughts were on my hair- he is an increase barber - I’m disappointed to say that I don’t live in Cairns and will only get to visit for a cut while on holidays in Cairns!

Fantastic experience: The lads upon entry were very accommodating with an upbeat and welcoming attitude. Fade & Beard by senior barber Niall. During initial consulting of what I was wanting Niall was able to articulate what i was looking for and as I am unaware of terminology assisting with pictures. Professional, great attitude, adaptive conversationalist (no need to talk if that's not your thing). Niall continued to consult during the cut and provided a perfectionist result. The rest of the team provided an awesome atmosphere supported by multiple current sporting event on screens throughout the shop.

Fantastic experience: Got a scissor cut here and Niall absolutely smashed it. One of the cleanest cuts I’ve ever had - he was a class chat throughout too! He even went above and beyond by tidying up my tash for me. Couldn’t recommend him enough. Good vibe throughout the shop and super clean interior too.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS BARBER!! , asked for a skin fade and got the skin part but no fade. asked for them to cut the top they cut the whole top different so now the top of my head has multiple different lengths and looks strange. I had to go to kingsman barber to get it fixed if you are in cairns make sure to go there instead

Negative experience: The lady that cut my hair and beard trim seemed very uninterested in what she was doing. I supplied a picture of what I wanted told her what I wanted. Probably the worst beard trim iv had. Iv only had a beard for 45 plus’s years so it’s been done a few times.

Negative experience: Terrible barbers, was told I wouldn’t get a junior stylist ended getting a kid who was 19 talked to his mate cutting hair next to h all the way through Didn’t give me the fade I wanted had to cut more off still ended up with more hair than when I walked in Don’t blame him though just a kid senior staff should be looking after him and their customers

Fantastic experience: Okay, I don’t do reviews often but honestly gotta give credit where credit is due. First time in Queensland and Cairns, been to a number of barbers before and have been okay, however had an appt with Chiara at Cartel Collective and she by far has exceeded my expectations. If I lived up here I’d be a regular 11/10 job and can’t thank her enough. Once I left and was able to have a proper look I had to go back to give a tip. The whole place has awesome vibes and all the barbers seem to take extreme pride in their work, not just rush you in and out like a lot of others. If I’m ever back up here I’ll be back and will recommend this place as I have a lot of family and friends in this area and near by.

The place is upbeat and funky and ALL of the staff pull it off! From when you walk in the door you are met with attentive staff that make you feel welcome.

Fantastic experience: My 2 sons and I have been receiving the epic hair cuts from the team at cartel. Harrison is a magician with all types of hair, he was able to fix my son’s frankindo as well, which is a testament to skills and professionalism. I have thick Asian hair which is difficult to cut into any style, Harrison understands the difficulty in shaping Asian hair and cuts the sharpest razor fade which I love. My eldest has a wicked cowlick which Thomas has tamed and keeps it looking Schmick. Thanks fellas for keeping us all looking sharp. Five starts because there isn’t a 10 star value.

Josh and Harrison have been my barbers for the majority of my visits and have always done an outstanding cut each and every time. When certain concerns were mentioned on my behalf about sensitive skin and skin conditions, I was given multiple choices to make things more comfortable.
