Negative experience: I walked in to the Decatur location with a large, slightly messy beard, told them I wanted to keep the same silhouette, just tidy up, as little volume loss as possible. I walked out with a chin strap and a Fu Manchu. Now I have to look like a freakin’ dork for 3 months until it grows back.

Fantastic experience: I am retired military (Army). After cutting my own hair and letting the military barbers do their damage. I decided to give myself a once every 6-8 week treat. I found it The place absolutely rocks and Lesly is my 100% go to. She does and great job and is definitely easy on the eyes.

Positive experience: UPDATED Wheelchair users are not welcome at the Decatur location. Today I was TOMSs that if I couldn’t get into his barber chair that he wouldn’t cut my hair. There are too many options for quality hair cuts. This one is not special. UPDATE 7/25/25 I received a phone call from the owner, Alex the day I wrote the first review apologizing and letting me know he would discuss their policy with the barber and give him the option to correct his attitude or resign. Alex offered me a free cut, which I respectfully declined. Today I visited the Decatur location and found the barber from before is no longer there. That’s unfortunate but I feel the incident was handled. I went directly to the Toco Hills location hoping to find Alex for a discussion, but instead was greeted by John. John had absolutely no problem giving be a great cut and refreshing shave. John treated me like any other client and that is all anyone wants regardless of appearance or mobility. I’ll be back.

They around $42 for a haircut. Lesly has been my go to barber. She always does an excellent consistent job! I don’t see myself going anywhere else or having someone else cut my hair for awhile. I have very curly hair, so sometimes it’s tough for me to get exactly what I’m looking for but she always does. Not to mention, she is very hospitable while cutting and always gives great recommendations for hair care products. I would highly recommend going to see Lesly.

I was tired of stylists not listening to me, but Alex was very attentive to my requests and did an outstanding job. Negative experience: I would caution coming here if you have hair that needs more than a buzz. Made an appointment online the previous day with Alex, as the reviews for him were top notch. 15 minutes before I came in and they changed the barber to Clifton Came in, showed him a 360° video of a cut I got before, we talked specifics, he cut it, everything was an inch too short. Nothing at all what I asked or showed. Clifton did not try to apologize for give any advice to fix it. The final cut looks passable, it's also not what I asked for, it's whatever he did. If you feel like rolling the dice go on ahead. Incredibly unprofessional

Positive experience: Id say the price is good for what you're getting. Id compare it to getting pampered for a quarter of the price hair salons usually charge for these services, the only three issues I have are - they don't tell you how much it is when adding on another treatment (I just feel like it should be upfront, so I don't have to transfer money between accounts last minute - then again I keep a tight grip on my money lol), they only take cash tips, not sure why you can't just cash app, zelle, or Venmo the barber?? Maybe it's to stop scams, not sure. And lastly, the manager when I went last time wasn't the nicest manager I've been greeted with. Scoffed when I needed a second to transfer my money, acted annoyed when I came in 10 minutes EARLY for my appointment, then told me to sit down while they serviced a white guy with no appointment?? I'm black and I had an appointment for reference. I really liked this place, but that's my third and last visit tbh.

Fantastic experience: Took my husband Tom for a hot shave as a treat. He has not been able to shave himself lately due to health issues. Clifford gave him a fabulous shave and Tom was very pleased. Wonderful shop, professional barber and great treatment for my disabled hubby! I plan to take him back frequently because he was so happy and looked great. Thank you Clifford!!

Fantastic experience: Alex was easily the quickest barber I’ve ever had. He’s extremely efficient and still gives an amazing cut. After the cut was over I was surprised by a nice hot towel and head/neck massage. Product came with the cut as well. Toco’s offers a premium barbershop experience at a competitive price.

Negative experience: After growing out my hair for 1-2 years, buddy chopped off and thinned out way more than I asked for then shoots me a dirty look at checkout when I forgot to carry cash on me. On the plus side, I've been giving my hat collection more love recently.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a loyal customer at this barber shop for quite some time, and I can confidently say that it’s by far my favorite in the city. They give amazing haircuts and they are always efficient with you time.

Negative experience: There’s what I asked for and there’s what I got, even after I showed a photo. I got close to the exact opposite of what I wanted. Keep the length on the top shorten the sides in a fade. Bibbity Bobbity Boo, now I must wait a few months for my hair to grow out again. The best part was when I was told how what I wanted was wrong after he’d taken a lawn mower to my head and literally cut the part I told him not to cut. Brilliant! In fairness, it’s the perfect spot for quick zippy haircuts that won’t leave you looking like you received a barracks cut. If you want it styled with what YOU want, then go somewhere that will listen to the words leaving your mouth. It’s my fault for going which is why I left so incensed. Unbelievable.

Negative experience: Just a so so experience. Owner and staff not friendly and when I came in all I got was do you have an appointment. I said yes at 4:30 and the owner just pointed at a barber. The barber did not introduce himself but did a good job. I had to ask for product to keep my hair in place at the end. Their pictures showed bourbon and I deliberately came early to have a drink and chill, no offer for a drink. One final chintzy thing, I was informed that tips have to be cash. I offered to use any of the apps to send the barber a tip since he did a fair-good job and was told that the owner does not allow that. He seemed scared of the owner and told me to go to the Kroger to get cash. I believe in tipping so I went to the ATM and paid a $3.50 service charge so I could tip him for his work. Unless it is an emergency, I will not be back and did not feel as though they wanted my business.

Negative experience: Before I review, please notice how many 5star review accounts have only 1 review ever, and it's just this place. That's suspicious and disingenuous. Not exactly happy. If you go, it's beneficial to schedule thru their weird online portal. It's a barber shop however. I've had successful walk-ins with Jackie and was disappointed by Alex. My undercut line got moved back even further so I just look stupid. He spent all of 15 minutes and shaved UPWARDS to an undercut, which resulted in very long top hair being removed from my ponytail section. I only noticed later when I brushed my hair and years of growth fell out. I was asked for all my digital info and to put a 5 star... after being unexpectedly waterboarded by a hot towel I didn't want.

Negative experience: I came to Toco after reading these 5 stars reviews but when I went there, they were not as welcoming, as if they were forced to do the job. Haircut was also pretty mid; I was out in like 15 minutes. Wasn't worth the $ honestly.

Negative experience: Not friendly , not a word said to us , or my child beside to ask his age to make sure we ll pay 40$ and not 35$ (under 10 ) My son had a terrible hair cut , way too short and didn’t not follow what my son asked even with the picture shown . The man cut my son a hair wayyy too short , my son is shy and was ashamed to ask the barber to stop cutting his hair , the barber should have asked him … Will not go back there for sure

Negative experience: Based on the previous review it seems like Alex is the way to go. I should have read the reviews prior because the last three barbers that weren't Alex left a pretty bad impression of the place.

Positive experience: I've been going for the past year, maybe more.. The shop and their work is good - what you would expect from a $40 haircut. To me it's a pain to go and not be able to pay gratuity on the credit card. It must be in cash. I've asked the barbers about it and always heard that they were planning to change it. Today the manager/owner said that's not the case, that it's been policy, the customer should know it when they come. It's not worth the hassle for me anymore to find an ATM before going in for a haircut, or find one after to pay someone gratuity for their work so I don't feel guilty for shorting them.
