I've been several salons/barbers/random hair cut locations. I can count on one hand the number of people have give the amount of attention and effort I received. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I scheduled for 9:15. Was contacted via text and rescheduled to 9:30. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment only to watch 4 other gentlemen come in after me and be seen before me. I chose any available stylist to ensure this would not happen. The haircut was now what I asked for. The crown was cut off at too short and will now stick up for a month. I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Negative experience: I don’t think I’ve ever received such a horrible haircut before. I was excited to get one after a long while. I asked many questions to the barber in order to get her professional opinion. How she described the haircut would be is not at all how it turned out. She essentially made me bald on the sides and the back. I definitely did not ask for that. What I wanted was longer hair on the top and a disconnected part at the top. She first took the clippers to the top side of my head and took a chunk off. I asked her is she fading it and she said yes. Again, how she described it to be was not at all how it turned out. I’m embarrassed to even post the pictures I attached to this review.

Fantastic experience: Jessica was able to take care of me quickly on a walk in, and did a great job listening g to my vague recommendations and finding a way to give me just what I wanted! The hot towel, shampoo/ conditioner and shave was done really well and made the whole experience really enjoyable!

Negative experience: ** Updated below! ** Had an appt. With Rae, she was awesome and gave me a perfect cut. 100% highly recommended **Update; I became a regular for Rae. But she didn’t seem to care. Three appointments in a row now, I’ve been left in the lobby for 15-20 minutes or more past my scheduled time. The last time I cancelled my appointment and left. My time is valuable too. I’m going to take my business to a place that understands that.

Fantastic experience: I've gotten haircuts here from "any stylist" 6 or 7 times. Every cut was on par or better with the best cut I've gotten from Great Clips or Sports Clips. I trust that they won't let me look bad, even when I want to try something different with my hair. The place is comfortable and relaxing. Never feels too crowded or rushed. Just a nice experience.

Negative experience: Dressed up version of sportclips. Asked for a medium fade and I ended up with the highest of high and tights I’ve seen since boot camp 2014. Not worth $65…. Beard came out just fine but now I have to wear a hat for atleast a month.

Got my haircut done by Jessica — she’s really skilled, listened to exactly what I wanted, and gave great suggestions too. The cut came out clean and sharp, and she took her time to make sure everything looked just right. Really friendly and professional throughout. The front desk lady was super warm and welcoming — she made the check-in process quick and easy, and even offered water while I waited. The whole place has a nice, clean vibe and feels very professional without being too formal. You can tell they really care about customer service. Definitely a solid spot if you’re looking for quality grooming and a relaxed experience. I’ll be back for sure!

Fantastic experience: This was was my first visit and iam super clear that it will not be my last. Jenni G was amazing. She understood what my needs were and was perfect in her execution. She is now my favorite hair dresser. The place is elegant, clean and gives a great sense of comfort. The front desk is very friendly and welcoming and makes a great start to a wonderful experience.

Negative experience: This was my first visit to Roosters, and I really wanted to leave looking as good as the atmosphere felt. The space is lovely, the staff are genuinely friendly, and I appreciated the warm welcome. Unfortunately, that’s where the feel-good part of the story ends—because my hair and beard? Not so lucky. This place is just a glorified super cuts, not a barbershop - false advertising. I came prepared with photos, clear instructions, and even managed to express myself in full sentences (which I’m proud of when sitting in a barber chair). But despite all that, my hair was cut far too short—definitely not what I had asked for. The level of care felt a bit rushed, and the whole experience had more of a “speed run” energy than the careful craftsmanship you'd expect from a place like this. The beard trim was, frankly, a disaster. The lines were completely off, and now I get to spend the next two weeks hoping it grows out fast enough so I can stop scaring small children and my own reflection. And while I don’t expect velvet gloves, I also don’t love having my head nudged around like a joystick. To her credit, the stylist did apologize profusely and said she’d make notes for next time—which I appreciated. She also didn’t charge me for the beard, which was the right move and showed professionalism. So despite looking like a “before” photo right now, I’m willing to give Roosters a second chance. I’ll be back—hopefully with a more even beard and just a little more hair.

Negative experience: Not worth $45. They spent all of 8 minutes cutting my hair. I’ve had better cuts at great clips and super cuts. My normal barber was closed the day I went. Shape & Shave in Woodstock. $28 for men’s haircut. Mindy spends all the scheduled 30 minutes fine tuning my haircut.
