Fantastic experience: Riza is the best — always gives a clean, sharp cut and pays attention to the details. Beyond being a great barber, he’s just a really good guy who makes every visit feel comfortable and easy. Big thumbs up for Riza. This is truly my go-to barbershop.

Actually took time to consult me and understand exactly what it was that I was going for and even offered to change it as we went along if it wasn't shaping out how i wanted. Fantastic experience: Honestly I kind of wanted to dislike this barber. The price is quite high. But I finally broke down and booked an appointment there last weekend, paying $60 after tip…. And it was the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Cynthia cut my hair and I cannot believe how good it looks. I wish the cost was a bit lower, but I’m sold. You get what you pay for, and you get a LOT with Balkan Barber. Highly recommend, it’s absolutely worth the price.

Fantastic experience: Booked same day, came in a little earlier for my cut (like 20 min early), got lucky and my barber (Riza) was free and got started immediately. We talked thoroughly about the style, the length, and whether I wanted a scissor or clipper cut (I chose scissor). I felt comfortable going into it. Riza absolutely killed it. Haircut looks great, was extremely fast (took all of 20 min!), and thorough. Riza cut the wetted hair first, dried it, and fixed up any little imperfections while it was dry; something I never saw any other barber do! Finished it off with a neck shave with a straight razor. Very satisfied and highly recommend. I'm sure the other barbers are also amazing.

If you’re looking for a attentive detailed haircut with specifics, completely skip this place. Being on Grove St., they are always overbooked with little to 20 mins per haircut. Don’t waste your 40-50 bucks here. Told the barber A, got F instead.

I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I have been dissatisfied with the services and the quality of the haircuts the last three times I came in. It has a classic barbershop feel with the culmination of many different personalities, all who care about their craft. Shop is nice looking & clean. No complaints. Eric’s cut was probably the best first time experience I’ve ever had with a barber, having cycled through many over the last few years. He’s got great customer service. We chatted like old buddies but I’m sure he would’ve been happy to cut in silence if that’s what the customer wanted. As for the cut, he took his time in a way that you could tell he cared about what he was doing rather than just getting me out as quick as he could. He recommended doing a scissor cut when I was fine with a buzz, which took longer but definitely looks better in the end. I was happy to take his recommendation, but I’m sure he would’ve been fine if I declined it. Cut looks great. I’ll definitely be back.
