Fantastic experience: Really nice establishment. Very quick and their really friendly. I took my two boys to get haircuts today and the barbers did an amazing job with my sons hair. They have really good music playing in the background and they offer complimentary water. I will be seeing them again soon10 out of 10 service

Fantastic experience: I have been getting haircuts from Diego for at least 2 years now and he’s gotten me right every single time. Prior to becoming his client, I’d explain to other barbers exactly what I wanted but they’d do everything but what I asked for. Diego got it right the first time and I’ve stuck with him since then. Every time I come in, the other barbers are always courteous as well and I’m happy that I found this shop.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Platinum Fades Pilsen for almost 2 years, and I keep coming back because the prices, cleanliness and booking system really cannot be beat. I originally started with another barber who left shortly after I moved to Chicago, and I’ve been booking with Diego ever since. Diego is an excellent barber. He is punctual, listens carefully and above all is a true perfectionist. I have never once had to clean up or fix anything after an appointment because he takes the time to go over the cut repeatedly, checking and refining every detail before I leave. When I moved to Chicago, I honestly thought I would never find cuts that compared to my longtime barber of over five years, but Diego proved me wrong. Even after moving across the city 6 months ago, I still make the trip back to Pilsen because every other barber I’ve tried has been a disappointment in comparison. I would recommend Diego to anyone looking for a barber they can trust to get it right every single time.

Negative experience: Was repeatedly asked to have photos taken. After I said no for the third time, the barber just took a photo of the back of my head thinking I couldn’t see, and then told me it would only be the back for their training when I asked. But then they just got the side shots with my face trying to b real slick. My barber also took over 90 minutes, when it usually takes half as much time. I do not recommend the female barber.

Negative experience: I asked for a low taper fade for a hair that I've been growing for 4 months. Just a low taper fade.. what did I end up with? Extremely short hair with a high fade... i even showed a picture and explained thoroughly what I needed done... i have an upcoming event and im extremely disappointed in the cut that costed me $40. Its gonna take 5 months to grow all over again..

Fantastic experience: First time here and I was impressed. I’m Nigerian for context. I booked an appointment with Diego and he did a great job. My fade was looking super sharp. Diego was also very thoughtful to ask me before apply certain products on my skin and offered me refreshments. I’m new in the city from a suburban town so the city haircut prices in general are a lot higher than I pay back home. Great experience overall.

Fantastic experience: I set up an appointment after a 'barber emergency.' Crystal saved the day! I walked in with a beanie covering my head, and I almost strutted out completely forgetting it. Wonderful cut, refreshing conversation. 10/10.

Negative experience: The lady that usually cuts my hair for 10 bucks was not available so I came here. Told the supposed barber to "clean the sides and back. In the top cut about one centimeter but don't cut to much i like it long." What does the individual do? Cut about an inch up top and leaves me almost bald on the sides. I had a major event coming up and I ended up looking terrible in all the pictures. If you're gonna say "it's your fault! My barber knows his stuff you didnt explain well enough! I love licking his boots" sure. But I specified how much I wanted up top, and in the past ten years every time I told someone to "clean" my sideburns they understood i just wanted the little hairs cleaned up so it would have a clean look. Hence, "clean up" the sides. Worst of all? I got charged almost 50 dollars to look awful. I don't care to about the price, but if I pay that much you better do what I ask. Horrible service. Despite their friendliness and good location, bad service will always get 1 star imo.

Fantastic experience: Moved out of the hood 4 years ago and thought I’d find a new barber. NAH! Guys know what it is when you find a good barber. I came right back to Omar and never looked back. You can change haircuts but you can’t change barbers. Fades are 10/10 and scissor work (which is rare for a lot of barbers IMO) is . Ask for Omar and tell him Kevin sent you…or don’t he’ll still take care of you

Negative experience: Took my son for a haircut, all was looking well until he told Crystal to trim a bit on front but keeping the length however she took the clippers and shaved it off instead. After 2 hours the hair cut looked nothing like what we showed her or asked for. Totally disappointed in the experience. Was hopeful that we had found a good spot for my sons hair.
