Negative experience: Biggest scam company I've ever dealt with. Can't cancel membership online, cant schedule appointment because it says I dont have account but I keep getting charged every month. Ridiculous and over priced for a hair cut that isn't very impressive. I can have a drink before I get a cut anywhere for alot less.

Fantastic experience: I just moved out here to Ohio about five months ago thinking I wouldn’t find a barber shop and a barber to cut me and my son’s hair. I’m really thanking my wife for showing me Hammer & Nails at the New Albany location. Customer services is top notch, the drinks that are served to us right when you walk in really says a lot about the hospitality of this business. Also, I want to mention Kelso being the barber that he is, cutting hair for 20+ years, the experience he shown within each haircut. He doesn’t miss anything with me and my son’s haircut and it’s looking clean every time. If you guys point to this direction, make sure to schedule a classic cut with Kelso, you won’t be disappointed!

Positive experience: The intro and first time visit special was good. The drink options are on par. My pedicure was great and we had a good conversation. The haircut was decent but not for the money. He was not very social or open. I was rushed and didn't even get half the service I signed up for. Took 30 minutes to trim the sides and top. No towel, wash, or anything. Blew the hair off the cape onto my feet and said, there ya go. Thanks..

Fantastic experience: I love this place. Very relaxing, interesting variety of whiskey, and great service. Ras is particularly detail oriented, and always gives a slick cut. It's not the cheapest place in the city, but worth the money.

Negative experience: The service was great, but requiring a membership for a service most people don’t do monthly is just straight asinine. I’d be much happier if they were a normal barber shop with set prices, requiring a membership is just pure business incompetence, and prices out most customers at 75 dollars a month. Absolutely ridiculous that they don’t even allow set pricing, you either get a membership or go elsewhere they say. Disappointing…

Fantastic experience: The team @ H&N is always a treat to deal with. Lea is always super professional & does phenomenal work! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the entire concept of the shop! Super comfortable and everyone is always personable.

Negative experience: This establishment has the sketchiest membership policies I’ve ever encountered and I highly recommend anyone take their hard earned money elsewhere if you are reading this. I’m taking the time to write this because I have been charged for 7 months of services AFTER I cancelled my membership with Hammer and Nail. This insanity began with their front desk staff back in June 2025. My barber and the front desk were 100% aware of me needing to cancel my membership since my job was no longer going to be in the area and we live 40+ minutes away. They first refused to let me downright cancel my membership saying I still had unused services left over on my account. They will refuse to refund these unused services (RED FLAG) and also tout “month to month memberships” and “no commitments necessary”. So they talked me into placing my account on a temporary “freeze” so I can use the services that they refused to refund (again this not a drug company or purchasing food and trying to return it). So I just pleasantly said “okay”. I used up my services by June of 2025 and after using the final service I approached the front desk to cancel my services completely. They gave me the thumbs up and said I was all good to go, no questions asked. Fast forward to January of 2026 I notice I have been billed $75 since July of 2025 ($450). No big deal I’ll just call them, they will have this on record that I cancelled and refund me for the error on their part right? Especially since they can see I have 14 UNUSED services on my account and have been a member for 2+ years in the past? INSTEAD, what I was met with were the following: 3 weeks of unreturned phone calls and dodging refunding me or providing any answers. 1/13 - “oh we are sorry we will talk to the manager and call you back tomorrow” - no call or follow up for 1+ week. 1/22 - “oh sorry we didn’t get back to you we need to run this by the district manager, good news is they will be in the office today so I’ll give you a call first thing tomorrow” - no call the next day. 1/28 - “so sorry but our district manager is out of the state opening up 3 more locations so you’ll have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday of next week before we can do anything about your refund” So here we are going on 4 WEEKS where they are holding $450 in error on their part for completely unused non-rendered services within my account. Here were a few reasons for “why” they are refusing to refund the full amount: 1. “You signed up at the Westerville location so they were supposed to cancel your membership” - never was told this when I cancelled and again they have no contract stating this. I would have happily called Westerville and cancelled my membership. Also bear in mind that I have been getting monthly haircuts for well over a year at the New Albany location. 2. “We don’t have proof that you actually tried to cancel your membership” - how about 12+ unused services in my count? Does it make sense to “throw away” $450 especially when I was a regular coming in on a monthly basis for 2+ years? I would say you could ask my barber but since he no longer works there due to high staff turnover, it presents a problem with “confirming” this. Front desk staff and my barber were fully aware of this and there were many conversations prior to my cancellation. If you’ve made it this far thanks for reading. I genuinely hope you take your business elsewhere because this has probably been one of the most drawn out and frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a company. What should have been a simple error or mistake on their part has turned into a massive time suck on my end. 3 weeks and still no resolution with excuse after excuse after excuse and no accountability to go with it. All of this for just average services over a 2+ year time span. Go support your local barbershops because Hammer and Nail will take your money, refuse to refund it, gaslight you in saying you never cancelled your membership and put you on a 3-4 week hold while their district manager “opens up 3 new stores in other states”.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place! Great individualized service provided by all advisors! This place is all-around awesome! Friendly staff, haircuts/beard cuts and trims, shape-ups, manicure/pedicure, nails..anything you can think of for self-care they do it. You have to try it once! It will not be your first and only time there. The master barber, Kiauna, is the absolute BEST. She is a great barber, and very versatile at it. She can do so many different styles and I’ve seen her perfect them all.

Fantastic experience: Ras is the best! Takes time and asks questions to understand what you want to make sure you’re happy throughout your cut. The scalp massage almost puts me to sleep each time. I leave fully relaxed and refreshed.

Positive experience: Kelso did an amazing job working on my hair, I have longer hair past my shoulder and it's hard finding someone that can work on my hair as a male but Kelso knew what he was doing and talked me through his plan and it was amazing the way my hair turned out at the end.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience bringing my 5 year old. Crystal is awesome. I did bring him at 1:30 on a Friday, so it wasn't very busy. I do wish they had other seats besides bar seats in the waiting area.

She’s skilled in her craft, detail-oriented, and knows exactly how to make every cut look its best. Every visit is consistent, sharp, and tailored perfectly. Highly recommend both the shop and Lindsay if you’re looking for top-tier service and a great experience.

Positive experience: The staff were very friendly. The service was just mediocre. I got a haircut and had my hair colored. In the end, I feel that the haircut wasn't any different (better or worse) than I usually get from the barber I've been going to for many years. I was hoping since I agreed to pay 3 times more than I would've paid my barber for a haircut, that I would be very happy with what I got. Sadly, the truth is, it looked no different than the haircut my barber has been giving me. I was happy with the color change (a service my barber doesn't offer). ☺️

Fantastic experience: My husband had a classic pedicure. He does not like having his feet messed with, so he was a little apprehensive. He is dealing with some skin issues on his legs, and once he explained that, his tech did a really good job of handling him just right.

Negative experience: I have asked multiple times for my classic membership to be cancelled. First request was back in July and has been requested on every subsequent month. Requests have either been flat out unacknowledged or been told I would be put on a cancellation list. The cancellation list is a lie and nothing actually gets done.

I was skeptical at first, but it's been really nice to just say "the usual" and get a great, consistent haircut. They do a good job of making everyone feel like they belong. Madison and I also swap our latest TV show recommendations, so that's always an added bonus.

My son has been going to Madison for a year now and absolutely loves her. He’s always excited to talk with her about his new games, cars and baseball. It is top notch treatment and service. It is on the expensive side, however it’s not just a barbershop. I was able to get a manicure and pedicure. Drink fine bourbon and whiskey while getting a haircut and watching the OSU game. They offer monthly subscriptions that will ultimately save you money. Multiple packages that will suit your needs. Negative experience: Called 3 times in the morning to reschedule an appointment I had for today at 3pm. First called left me hanging on the phone waiting, never called back. They sent a message when it was already late and I WAS AT WORK WORKING BUSY and when I gave them a call back at 3:15pm the 10$ fee was already being charged from my bank account and no way of waiving that fee even though it was my first time going there and even though I tried my best to communicate with them. The girl on the phone was rude, incompetent and none professional at all, she could’ve just called the manager or supervisor to see if we could work this around but no. Not reschedule available either but on days I can’t go. Worst company ever, worst policy ever and considering I didn’t even had the chance to go there, I can’t imagine how they treat their customers or the quality of the job they do. Absolutely not recommended!
