Fantastic experience: A review should be totally transparent. I do want to start with one negative. My appointment was for 1:30 and I wasn't sitting in the chair until 2:05PM. For future appointments, after my experience - I will assume that my appointment time is an estimate and also a way to save my place in line. So that is the "bad". The great, is that once I was in the chair, I was in for the best haircut and hot towel shave of my life. Juan is by far the most skilled barber I have ever received a haircut from. I had been watching ASMR YouTube videos of barber straight shaves, and I had been wanting to get one for so long. While my experience was not nearly as fancy, it was still a phenomenal one. No irritation, my face hasn't been this smooth since before I started puberty. I am sure it is challenging to stay on schedule when you are giving each customer your absolute best and paying attention to every detail. Funny thing is, I almost considered walking out. I am so glad that I didn't. Patience is a wonderful thing! Thanks, Juan. PS - I was observing the other barbers, and I have a feeling that you can't go wrong with whoever cuts your hair. They all seem insanely skilled.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 11:40. I rushed a little bit to get there early. I think i pulled up at like 11:32 right in front of the door. I sat there till like 11:58 maybe because the only two barbers in there weren't still working on people. Finally im like, I should go inside because my barber may be in the back or something. I go in, "hey, do you have an appointment" yes okay your with Juan here take a seat. Okay. Sat there another 5-10 mins ish. I just wanted a light scissor cut and a beard trim type deal. Its not even a full beard at all. Just wanted to cut it down and do like a professional straight razor shave. The haircut was pretty good. The beard trim lol or cut whatever was not so good. He missed alot of hair lol. The beard trim was like 3 mins long. He used a buzzer type deal from almost all of it. Lol I have one at home I could have used for free. BUT he did straight razor the back side of my neck sorta. Ive never had a straight razor cut with no like cream or applicant if that makes sense. He did that shit dry. I thought he was gonna cut me open lol. It was rough feeling. It made it kinda of hot and itchy on the neck. No hot towels or anything like that. It was like rough to say the least. I was hoping he would straight razor the entire thing for some reason. Ive had it done in the past and it was a cool experience but yeah idk. Also I never saw any pricing guide or anything. They also never told me what the prices would be before or after the cut. When the cut was done he said you paying cash or card. I said card. We tapped the phone to the device and 51 and some change was taken out like an ATM transaction lol. I never signed anything or got to leave a tip or anything. He said thank you have a nice day. So was there a guaranteed tip including into the price that I didn't know about? Like a mandatory tip? The haircut couldn't have been 50 right. I mean maybe like 35 for the hair so was the beard trim 15? With no tip? If so 15 seems like alot for a quick buzzer. He shaved it off with the buzzer thing and then finished it with a different buzzer. Its like what I do at home when im in a rush. Anyways im not hating on this place. Its just that this location is slow and they dont pay attention to details I dont think. By the way I think that haircut was like 1 hour and 45 mins lol. Thats like the longest haircut ive ever had I think. Plus the time waiting It was like 1 pm when I got out. Appointment was supposed to be at 11 am lol

Negative experience: So I planed on treating myself to a professional beard line up and trim. As I normally just do a mediocre job with it myself. I purposely grew it out for around 3 months so there would be plenty to shape and work with. Did some research started looking around at professional barbers around Columbus. Before I decided on turners because of the location and what seemed to be a overwhelmingly positive reputation. I could not have made a bigger mistake. I got booked with Stephen, I showed up 10 minutes early to my appointment. I wasn't greeted when i arrived just bluntly asked if I had an appointment. After we established I had one with him at 5:30. He just rudely motions towards the chairs. I sit and wait till he finished with his customer. Then he goes to his phone calls out my name. I walk over, again no "hi" no greeting, no nothing, just motions towards his chair with and irritated look. I sit down we establish I'm there for a line up and beard trim. I tell him I just want a basic line up, and the beard lined up along my jaw, not much shorter than it was just trimmed even. He asked if I wanted my mustache trimmed up off my lip I said yeah. Then he goes to work immediately doing the line up first. Wich should have been a red flag. As he never once stepped back to look at face/beard from the front. Reclines my chair for the trim, before immediately covering my eyes so I'm going through the rest of the trim blind. Should have been another red flag. After about 10 minutes of what feels like him meticulously timing my beard and stash. He starts the shave hits me up with the peppermint towel. I'm thinking this is great this is exactly what I grew my beard out for, and have been looking forward to the last few months . ...then there was long pause. Next thing I know I feel a trimmer with a small guard being hastily taken to my face, and mustache. He blows me off one last time. Uncovers my eyes, whips my chair up around to the mirror. To reveal my beard has now been simply buzzed off to short stubble. He mumbles about using a 1.5 on the side a 2 up front to give me a nice "grow out". I was completely left speechless at this point. I said something about never having my beard "professionally" done, i just normally butcher it myself at home. I stand up, and he won't look me in the eye. Goes straight to talking about payment says I only owe him 40, but still has the nerve to bring up I pre pledged a $15 tip. I just paid and left. I literally noticed people giving me side glances and giggling on my way home. I didn't realize why till I got home and got a better look at my "beard". It was not only buzzed down to stubble. It was uneven and horribly lined up. I had different length hair patches, and my right side is is twice as wide as the left. I look like half my face is drooping down. I'd give negative stars if I could....

I've always been very picky with my haircut and have longed for a good stylist who understands my randomly wavy/curly hair and gets the right shape. The very first day I worked with Stephen, he listened to me and got my hair cut perfectly the very first time. The best part about him is the attention to detail. He'll literally spend 15 minutes getting the smallest of imperfections fixed. It's just been an amazing experience. It's been three months now and I'm not going to anyone else.

Fantastic experience: I decided I wanted to go to an actual barbershop instead of chain places for a haircut so when I did research on the best places to go in Columbus Turner’s Barbershop came up. I’m a trans man and was worried about the environment of whatever barbershop I go to so one of my top priorities was they had to be LGBT+ friendly. This barbershop has such a friendly and relaxed vibe and the owner, Cierra, is extremely chill and nice along with being able to do amazing work with my hair no matter what style I ask for. I have been getting my hair cut by Cierra now for a couple months and I’ve been happy with her work every.single.time. I recommend this place to my friends and coworkers pretty often and I plan on keep coming back cause it’s absolutely worth it.

Negative experience: I've gotten good cuts here in the past, but won't come back after my last experience. I was scheduled for a cut with Stephen on New Years Eve. Stephen was nice, friendly, and judging by the guy in his chair as I pulled up he can cut some serious hair! The problem for me was service. I arrived 5 minutes early for my cut at 5pm and was checked in by Joseph who told me to have a seat. 15-30 minutes later, another guy walked in for a 5:15, also with Stephen. At this point I can obviously tell something is up, but nobody on the staff could. I sat another 10 minutes before the guy that arrived after me got called up to his seat. Long story, short it turns out that there was an error on the site and my booking did not go through and Joseph failed to notice this when checking me in. Stephen offered to get me afterwards, and I respectfully declined. Not a big deal at all. What is a big deal for me is how the situation was handled. Why wasn't it noticed at check-in that my name wasn't in the line for 5pm? Why didn't someone question why there are 2 people in the shop for the same person at nearly the same time? Why didn't one of the barbers that weren't busy not step up? Why are you getting an attitude with me for noticing the problem instead of realizing you failed at check in? Whether it was just a computer error or not, the response showed that no one was paying attention and nobody cared. Quite frankly, I've gotten that feeling a few times on my visit to this barber. Plenty of other barbers in the city.

Negative experience: Barber rushed through my haircut because he thought I was an hour late, he just didn’t set his clocks back for daylight savings.. My fade isn’t really a fade, it just goes from bald to not bald. Overpriced.

Negative experience: Don't ask for Joseph, he will ignore length directions, cut it severely uneven, and shave against the grain with clippers. My neck and chin were red for two days after my visit.

Decided to go with this one as I was kinda familiar with the location. Walked in and was in a chair 30 minutes later. Izaac gave me the best haircut I’ve had in sometime. Thank you Sir. This dude Levanter Anderson, which is one of the Barbers, takes me in and shapes up and cleans up my beloved beard and head! I love meeting new people! This dude is doing it right. I called and set an appointment and wasted my time going there to be turned away because I got in contact with a different location. Couldn’t even get a service because the shop I went to closed at my appointment time. The only reason I’m giving a 2 star is because the person on the phone was nice, and the barber I interacted with was nice as well. This whole situation just pissed me off.

Fantastic experience: I travel for work and I struggle to find a good barber - and I’m a female. Just because I wear my hair short doesn’t mean I don’t deserve a good cut. I googled and found this place, made an appt and got Will. He listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered. I wish I could take Will with me as I travel. He cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted. The shop was clean, friendly and welcoming. Awesome job people!!!!

Fantastic experience: Turner’s was my first official barbershop experience (I’m a gal with short hair) - and I left with the best haircut I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is welcoming and super laid back. Victoria cut my hair and just - wow. I told her what I wanted and showed her a few pictures, and when I was done my hair looked EXACTLY like what I had pictured, better even. The fade is just perfection. On top of the crazy hair skills, Victoria was super fun and easy to talk to the whole time. If you need a barber in Cbus, she is the one!
