Negative experience: I recently got a haircut from this place and it being my first time I was happy with the experience until I sat in the chair. The old guy was extremely vulgar and rude making disgusting remarks and talking very inappropriately. I will never come back

Negative experience: Useless shop. State they close at 5:30 online and on the door of the shop, but two days in a row I’ve turned up at five and they are closed. Would not recommend wasting your time

Negative experience: We understand that during busy times there can be a big wait but there were 5-6 people waiting for a haircut today inc my husband and the woman working today took a VERY long time to cut a little boys hair (the other guys went through at least 2customers each while this lady cut this one little boys hair) It wouldn’t normally be an issue waiting except she was obviously friends with this little boys Mother. The Mother stood there chatting away and at one point she wasn’t even cutting hair, just standing there chatting and laughing with this lady while a lot of men sat there watching and waiting for their turn and then she went and had a 20minute break. It’s good to see she was friendly but a lot of the men waiting were complaining among themselves that she wasn’t even cutting, just chatting. I feel that there’s a time and place for gossiping with a friend and it’s not when you’re suppose to be working.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to leave a great review for Connaire who gave me a great haircut and beard trim. Connaire was very patient and accommodating as I asked for my beard to be trimmed shorter and shorter, a few times. She was very friendly and helpful, and the prices were very reasonable. If I need a cut next time i'm in New Plymouth I'll definitely come back to see Connaire. Nice premises too!

Negative experience: I don't usually like to rant. But I am absolutely fuming. I rang Dads & Lads this morning, I thought I had to phone book an appointment for my son, but they said 'no, just walk in. As long as I was there before 4:50/5pm'. Anyway I made it by 4:45. I was greeted by a lady, she said 'we're not taking any more walk ins', I told her I rang this morning, she said 'we're not taking anymore walkins', I then told her I had driven all the way in from Waitara, she begrudgingly said 'take a seat'. We were looking for a seat, & then the barber said you rang this morning, I said 'yes'. He then persisted in saying 'we are not taking any more walkins'. So my son & I go back to the car, I look at their website, they close at 5:30. So I went back in I told them 'your website says 5:30', the barber said to me 'doesn't matter', I said we came all the way from Waitara, he said 'doesn't matter'. There were 3 people waiting. I thought I was doing everything right. It wouldn't of bothered me, if we lived in Bell Block. We live in Waitara, my son likes Dad's & Lads, I was really low on fuel. They were really quite rude in their mannerism. If this is how they treat their customers, my 3 sons & I will never go back. They don't even dserve one star. On a brighter note Thank you so much 'Fresh on Time Studio's' Waitara, for fitting us in at such short notice. Really appreciated. We will be back.

Fantastic experience: Was fortunate that I arrived just after opening time, so the initial rush were all being seen, and I had a 2 minute wait while the first of the morning customers was finished.. As always, the service was good, polite and friendly, nice to have a good chat, and this time was somewhat different for me as it was time to loose the long term beard, so was also after some advice about how best to go ahead.. 15 mins later I have come out transformed and looking very different, but even when it was just a trim on previous visits, people have commented on how tidy the hair looked.. Can be busy at times, and you must book for a specific time on a Saturday only, so have been a few times I've popped in and its been too busy and I didn't have time to wait, but I'm passing often enough I get there eventually..

Negative experience: A gentleman there always cuts my grandsons hair and pays when done, 2 saturdays ago he went in to get normal hair cut but there were only 2 ladies in there, my grandson waited his turn, went to stand up to get his hair cut but was told he must pay first, he was taken aback so he went to the counter to pay but there were 2 other people standing to go get their hair cut and they weren't asked to pay for their hair cuts first, he thort it a bit strange as this has never happened to him before, he came out to tell me, I was upset and took him to another hairdresser, although i really did want to confront them but my grandson didnt want a scene, to me it implied it was because he was a maori and the other 2guys were pakehas I definitely won't ever be taking him back there ever again, I don't like bigots

Negative experience: I asked for a fade and not to touch the longer top of my hair, that went past my eyebrows. I didn't get a fade and the barber cut the long part to above my eyebrows. I'm so mad because the same thing happened to me at a different barber
