Fantastic experience: The best place for little kid’s haircuts! From the fire truck seat and costume to the first haircut certificate, it’s a 10/10 service. Having your toddler’s hair cut can be stressful, but the staff here really try to make it easier. I really appreciate the toys and bubbles my son gets to help distract him.

Negative experience: Went for my sons first haircut as this is supposedly one of their "specialties". I understand it can be hard cutting a wriggly, upset childs hair, however it was so rushed with little patience or empathy for him. We were barely acknowledged by the stylist (with not a single word spoken to my son) and I was criticised for picking up and comforting my child before we had started, being told "you've just made it worse because now he probably wont sit back down". When I asked if I could hold him while his hair was cut to try make it less traumatic for him I was told no. The end result is a very uneven haircut and a traumatised child (and mum!)

I've been going for years and have always been very satisfied with the service, the haircut, the chats and the price. I've even been known to hang around afterward to finish a game of noughts and crosses or to read the labels on some of the tapes on the wall - ahh, the memories! Awesome place - highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: We drove from Cambridge to get our 15 month old his first hair cut today as other mums had recommended this place for babies haircuts ! Although our son cried most of the time, and it was so stressful, Anmol was so nice and patient with us. He let us take lots of breaks and tried to think of ways to help us distract him. Also love the ‘first haircut’ certificate with his lock of hair and photo. Will be such a lovely keepsake ! Will come back for future hair cuts for sure (if you’ll have us) haha! Negative experience: Do not recommend! Did an absolute awful job of my sons first haircut. The lady doing the cut was lovely, the first haircut certificate was great but the result was dreadful. His hair was wetted and combed down. Once home we noticed how bad it was. It was cut with just a razor, no scissors even though I asked for a scissor cut. Nothing was even. Huge chunks of his hair are missing, long on one side short on the other. A bald spot above his ear. Looks very bowlcut - I could have done better myself. Very disappointed as we had family photos the following day and he sat so still for the lady cutting his hair. Called to let them know my disappointment and manager never called me back. Took to another local barber to fix, they were shocked at the state of his hair and did their best to atleast make it even!

Negative experience: First time trying this place and I really wish I didn’t. Indian guy gave me something completely different from what I wanted after being clear about it and cut my hair way to short from the get go. I drove all the way from coromandel for a job interview that day as well so yeh, stoked ‍♂️ Plus the haircut styling is really not it.. looks like my friend cut it..

Positive experience: Visited the first time as my son had come from Auckland. Did not have a booking, but was very accommodating. Nice and clean, friendly staff, liked the decor. Better to do a booking.

Negative experience: This place used to be good. When it was good, the kids and I could all get our haircut at the same time, which worked out great for me. It used to be very friendly and used to do nice haircuts. Now, they no longer do female haircuts (although you can get a tattoo instead). I called to see if we could come in that day for a haircut and they said no, it's too late, but that I could come tomorrow. I said great, see you tomorrow (note that they did not say anything about appointments). We go there the next day and they say, sorry, we're booked, you should have made an appointment. That was very frustrating. Why didn't they tell us this when I was on the phone with them the day before. Anyway, we left and are not coming back.

Fantastic experience: We go here often now and our 3yr old gets the best service! The gals and guys here are super friendly and efficient. They have an ipad for the kids to watch so they dont get restless during the cut and have a cool firetruck booster that makes the kids feel really cool. Our son loves sitting in the chair and talking to his barber mates. And our son always comes away happy and looking so spunky.

Negative experience: I loved this place for my kids hair and use to get my hair done in the ladies salon out the back. Now they closed the ladies salon and there's a tattoo place in there, I won't back as I don't want my young kids entering a tattoo shop. Really disappointed as it was a great barber.

Positive experience: Decided to try this place for my kids because our usual one has closed and this one had good reviews but unfortunately we were left disappointed. Asked for cuts longer on top, short on the sides (but still wanted the top cut). The sides look good but the tops appear to hardly have been touched and are uneven and choppy. Unfortunately my husband (who took them) said it was hard to tell at the time because they'd combed their hair over at the top and it was wet at the appointment, but when it's sitting naturally it doesn't look great. (Please note this review was obviously made after discussing with my husband what he asked for and even showed a photo of a previous cut from our regular barber)

Fantastic experience: I live in ChCh but discovered Who's Ya Barber 4 years ago while working in Hamilton. I love the vibe and decor. Had a great chat with the owner about the playlist on Spotify and the rabbit hole that Spotify encourages...and the resulting discovery of new music. So back in Hamilton last week, had to go for another visit. Nice banter and hot towel to finish off. Still 100% recommend.

Negative experience: Who's ya barber? More like who's going to bully me tomorrow. I had one day left to cut my hair before I got in trouble, So I thought hmm why not try who's ya barber. I was wrong... I arrived at school with my hairline pushed back further than my father's coffin underground. Reading other reviews to figure out how others experience I found out someone turned out like a mutilated troglodyte, to make matters worse I found out that the owner didn't respond well to constructive feedback. I will not be returning as this store goes against every moral I portray. I felt as though the owner put me in a chairand spat on my face. I feel devastated and most importantly betrayed. Who's ya barber, more like who's your killer, as my heart is broken, 1 star is generous as I will never be looked at the same again by my beautiful widdow mother. I now feel like my father who is 6 ft underground.

Fantastic experience: Love the team at Whose Ya Barber - we take our 3 year old there regularly and by now Paula has watched him grow for the last 12 months :) they’re so patient with him and understanding when he picks a bit of a tanty (as toddlers do!) but the staff are amazing and he always comes out looking an 11/10!
