Fantastic experience: Again a fantastic experience at Cutthroat Cross Street, I got my usual fade and beard trim. As always Rali did a brilliant job. He is an exceptional barber, and particularly if you are looking for a true beard aficionado and expert to maintain, shape and develop your beard style. I couldn't recommend Cutthroat and Rali more highly. The only downside is I was running a little late and couldn't enjoy the great coffee this time!

Negative experience: A friend suggested this place, so I made an appointment with Declan. Despite their policy of charging customers for lateness, he showed up 20 minutes late and hurried through the haircut, leaving me with a result I didn’t ask for.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were strolling around looking for coffee. Then we spotted this place. Perfect chance for a quick coffee and a haircut. Two birds, one stone. To our surprise, they were able to take him in right away, and while he got his haircut, we enjoyed two delicious dirty chais and some really fun conversations. He walked out happy with his fresh look, and I walked out happy we found such a gem.

Positive experience: Okay, first the good. The staff are lovely, haircuts always look great and everything is in good condition and clean. Having said that I don't feel like they listen to me. The haircut is always good but usually removed from what I ask for. Taking off more than I ask regardless of barber. Seems to a be a universal thing. On my most recent visit they applied a spray and product after I declined them, distracted I presume but as an autistic person the scent will over stimulate me all day. Something that may be just a personal perspective but I feel like they are rushing through the haircut more than when they first set up shop. I really liked the relaxed attitude and miss it personally. Still the best barbershop in galway but that's not a great thing if experience is slipping.

Fantastic experience: Peter is an amazing barber! I walked in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and he knew exactly what to do. Not only is Peter a skilled barber but he also creates a comfortable atmosphere, he's very easy to talk to. Left his chair feeling confident and I'll definitely be returning to him for all my future cuts. On the barbershop itself, it's very clean and tidy. When I first walked in I was a given a warm welcome, they hung up my coat and offered me a drink. Everyone was very friendly. All round 5 star experience!

Negative experience: How can a barber charge someone who is under 18 €31.50 for a haircut, and then take them 30 min late when they book for 4:20 and not taken till 4:50. Not going here again. Absolutely ridiculous.

Positive experience: ☆☆☆☆ However, the barber (who did a good job with a complicated gypsy mullet concept) became impatient and rushed the final cut due to a client waiting. You have to finish the job and ensure the man in the seat is content before moving on. I'm happy enough, but I know the back is not right, and he had little interest in ensuring I was content. Banging out clients who don't return is a poor business strategy. Sadly I will not be back.

Negative experience: Made an appointment for one 1:00 - 1:20 on my lunch break, didn't get seen until 1:30, why are you using appointments if you cannot meet them, go back to walk ins. Ended up being late back to work and the customer after me ended up rescheduling due to the delay. Also asked twice to thin out hair and it still wasn't done, but at that stage I didn't have time to wait. Considering you are the most expensive barbers in Galway at €30 for a standard short back and sides, its a very bad service. Premium prices for less than average haircut. Unfortunately this will be my first and last time here.

To start off you're offered a beer (or water) then take a seat. I got my beard trimmed and he basically knew exactly what I wanted. The care, detail and precision he put into shaping my beard was amazing. Highly recommend visiting Cutthroat for your next beard trim.
