The lady who dressed my hair from shoulder length hair, to stylish medium /short hair for a wedding was excellent. Asked what I required. Listened and provided advice to bring about exactly what was required. 10 out of 10. Recommended by me any day.

Fantastic experience: Ive been a customer for a long time. Its a great place and service. From time to time there are some barbers rotation but they hire great staff. I’m currently always booking with Sandro, he’s very dedicated, we have a great chat and I can see he has great attention to details. Last time I visited I asked about some different style and Sandro kindly guided me what’s would be best to do to achieve that hair style. Thanks Sandro and all Gmale team.

Fantastic experience: I had my haircut done by Valentina and honestly, it’s the best haircut I’ve ever had in a salon. She understood exactly what I wanted, paid great attention to detail, and the result was perfect. I usually only trust one person to cut my hair, but Valentina completely exceeded my expectations. Fantastic experience: Was my 2nd time using G male for a hair cut and beard cut. My beard was in awful condition, through using another barber a couple weeks ago. The line was awful and it was ragged looking. I arrived to a booking with Nikki this morning. Amazing from start to finish. She preformed a miraculous turn around on my beard, great haircut and I left the shop this morning feeling a lot better about myself. She is a master of her craft and I'll be a regular moving forward and the whole experience was brilliant. Thank you Nikki and all the staff there 5 stars for sure

Negative experience: Despite a nice welcome, the experience resulted in a very bad result with worse haircut I ever had. Hairdresser treat customer tough, haircut horrible Will never come again.

Fantastic experience: It is definitely worth it! Got my hair done here, and wow! I was a completely new person. My barber even told me which options she would advise for my face shape, and also gave tips. She was experienced and it is hard to find such a good service. Thanks for that! Coffee, biscuit and sitting on the couch while waiting is a nice touch. The staff is fantastic, friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: All staff employed here seem to have been hired purely on skill and professionalism. You are guaranteed for a excellent cut and experience. I went to the Grafton Barbers up the road and got butchered. Then slunk into Gmale hoping they could save it. They performed a miracle free of charge and got a customer for life out of it. Never going anywhere else again. Couldn't recommend higher.

Negative experience: I left very dissatisfied with the barbershop I visited. I made a reservation, and when I arrived, I was taken to the backroom—a small, cramped space that they must rent out to another barber. Even though he wasn’t part of their team, they should ensure he meets their quality standards. The barber was extremely rude. I showed him photos of what I wanted, but he didn’t even bother to look at them and spoke to me in a disrespectful manner. The place was very dirty, with hair all over the table and tools. I paid 30 euros, which is a fair price for Dublin, but I wouldn’t go back even if they paid me.

Fantastic experience: I've become a regular here due to the excellent service, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and great value. Naturally, my haircut experiences have always been positive. Niki, in particular, always does an amazing job. It's a fantastic place.

Fantastic experience: Returning after many years in London, it took me a long time to find a stylist/barber in Dublin that I was happy with. Leon's talent and attention to detail are exceptional. I recommend you reward yourself with a booking, you will not be disappointed.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review. I have been a longstanding customer with Gmale since they opened in 2008 but will no longer use them. I would have to say the barbers are very good and I have generally enjoyed it there but I have had 2 incidents with customer service which have left a bad taste. 1. I was having my hair cut about a year ago when half way through it the owner came to me and said the wrong barber was cutting my hair and should be cutting someone elses. He insisted that the barbers switch midway through my haircut, which I though was poor. Half a haircut with one, have with another. Didn't say much at the time, stuff happens. 2. I booked a hair cut last w end and did not attend, did not inform them beforehand, totally forgot the appt. I was charged full price for the haircut. I rang today to rebook, apologised for cancelling the booking last w end and was told I would have to pay again. I made the point I'm a customer with 16 years. The owner then said I would have to pay again and there as a circuitous conversation about another time when I had booked a shave along with a haircut and didn't get the shave (there wasn't a hot towel available at the time, I should have known to book that specifically...). After 16 yrs of using Gmale I found it very disappointing not be shown any flexibility (when I let the above incident slide) so won't be using them again.

Positive experience: Nickie the legendary barber. A must-visit. She gave me a nice haircut. But you must book an appointment beforehand.

Negative experience: Just an awful customer experience. Only set up to suit themselves and not customers. Tried to walk in twice and fair enough they were busy, I asked for a time later and was told free slots, they couldn’t accept me or book me there, I had to scan a qr code to set up an account and book in online ! I didn’t want to do that and came again the next day! Just ridiculous, lazy by them even with a receptionist ( not her fault ) but just book me in or set up the account on behalf of me. Not thinking about a frictionless experience for customers, I’m sure it makes managements job slightly easier at monitoring everything staff do! Will never try again, went to a barbers around the corner, half the price and very friendly with no backflips before a haircut. It’s not a bloody bank account I’m setting up in gmale. Go to classics around the corner.

Fantastic experience: Moved to Dublin over 2 years ago and tried out a lot of barbers. It took me a while but finally found Nikki and won’t go back. I’ve been going to Nikki for almost a year now and haven’t had a bad haircut. She is amazing at the fade I’m looking for and able to make any changes if you ask. Highly recommend going to her if she’s available.

Fantastic experience: As a regular now at Gmale I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad haircut. Always walk away delighted with my cut and feeling fresh. The staff at Gmale are welcoming and very attentive. The shop is a nice place to be, very clean and relaxing atmosphere. Personally I love the booking system, it’s so handy and well organised, I can book when I have a free slot without worrying I’ll be late getting back to work or to pick up my daughter. All of the barbers are top class, especially Aiste, who is an unreal barber and a master of her craft. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: The cut itself was quick and right on schedule. However I'm not happy with the process and the result. Didn't receive the "stimulating wash" described in the service. I showed a picture of my previous cut, but the cut was made shorter than I asked for. During the cut my hair wasn't made wet enough, so in some spots the buzz cut was quite uncomfortable (mildly painful).

Fantastic experience: Have been to a lot of barbers in Dublin but I can say with confidence that the best hair stylist I’ve ever had my hair done with is Niki in this place. The precision which she has with her clients is something I had never experienced before and I’ve gone to a lot of places with “good” hairstylists. The attention to detail and styling by her is top notch. The shop also has a good variety of different hair products and she recommends the exact type your hair needs for that night out. Highly recommend you go ahead with her cuts!

Fantastic experience: I had a haircut & treatment this evening after work. Great service and people as usual. The treatment was excellent and didn’t cost me anything as I had built up points with my prior haircuts. The haircut package option is also a good option to keep track / plan visits.

Fantastic experience: One of the few places I could find on Christmas Eve that still had slots available for what was a BADLY needed haircut and beard trim and they couldn’t have been nicer. Lovely offer of a beer or coffee on available. Amazing haircut from Nicki and despite them being up the walls they even managed to sneak a beard trim in for me even though I hadn’t booked. A lovely Christmas treat and definitely will be back again

Negative experience: second time i went to G Male and came back totally disappointed. the gentleman asked me how I want him to cut my hair and I showed the photo and he cut me completely different from what I wanted. tomorrow morning I have the flight and I will be disappointed until the next cut

Aiste, Vijay and all the barbers are first class and I highly recommend this very clean and friendly salon in the heart of Ranelagh.

Fantastic experience: Aiste is my barber. I always book for her to cut/style my hair. She is the best. She's very caring in how her clients want to look and she will listen to what you want and help you to feel your best after the style/cut. I have autism and that comes with sensory issues, Aiste, who probably doesn't know this, when touching my hair, very nice and friendly. Doesn't feel forced or violent. If there was a 10 star rating, I'd recommend for her and to be called "the best barber"

The barbers are especially attentive to your requests compared to most other places, so if you want something really specific about your hair cut it's the place to go. The different treatments are also excellent, and the loyalty points system is very good value.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with GMale today. Brought my son who is autistic, they were very patient and understanding… used the scissors instead of clippers which I’m sure took much more time but we’re very accommodating. If the busier area is too much for some there is a quieter room at the back that is available on request (although we were fine in the busier area today). Always friendly, accepting and a fine handsome haircut to boot, thank you. Highly recommend.
