Fantastic experience: Been coming to GR for about a year and has always been a top notch experience. From the friendly staff, to the nicest waiting room and, of course, the highly professional service from Rodrigo, it’s always a pleasure to come back!

The deep tissue back massage was carried out with outstanding skill and technique, and Maggie’s expertise was evident throughout. Negative experience: I was really disappointed unfortunately. I grew my hair out over three months at my barber’s suggestion back in November after showing a reference photo and getting advice. I showed the same reference photo twice today and the final product is a totally different haircut, much shorter. There is nothing particularly wrong with the haircut in isolation and the barber is a nice person. But it’s not at all what I asked for and at the prices I pay in Grooming Rooms, it’s not acceptable. Very disappointed and now think I will take my business elsewhere as I’m back to square one growing out my hair.

Negative experience: Went there for my transition from long to short hair, I had an exact idea of what I wanted, but still ask the pro what he think. He just did what he want, not listening what I had asked. The back is too short, the front too long, and I asked for an only scizors cut with natural look and no fade/taper. End up with a taper on the side. (It was Jeff) thanks a lot.

Negative experience: Appalled and disappointed. Have been several times for hair cuts and hot towel shaves, and generally very satisfied. However, I was left waiting more than half an hour with no explanation for delay. I went to reception to find out what was going on, and no adequate explanation - no reports of delays, and no error in system regarding booking. Just utter carelessness, it seems. From reading other reviews, it seems like this isn't a once-off occurrence. Never going back. *** Amended after response from the general manager the following Monday, which did not set out a clear explanation of the "oversight", but offered a complimentary haircuit, which isn't really of much value to me since I don't live in Dublin, it's coming up to Christmas, the explanation was inadequate, and the issue has occured with other patrons. Frankly, "oversights" like this just shouldn't occur in a business pitching itself at such a high level of service and standards.

Fantastic experience: Rodrigo saved me from a day of headaches, I had an interview and my hair is notoriously difficult and he gave me a scissor cut exactly how I needed and as fast as I needed. He told me how to style it and made sure I was comfortable before I left. One of the best barbershop experiences I've ever had, I will return soon. And if he's reading this, there's a bottle of whiskey waiting with his name on it I will personally deliver

Positive experience: Went for a beard shape and trim. Very pleasant experience. Barbers know what they're doing but remember a barber can be understandably apprehensive about what you want, they dont want to destroy your beard, dont be afraid to take their hand and show them. Its all good, the grooming rooms is the only place I go for beard trims and shapes. Always a lovely experience. Highly recommend (dont have a before pic)

Positive experience: The haircut itself looked fine once it was groomed in the chair. As I have mid length hair it can take time to see if it's left quite crooked afterwards which it was. I think this could have easily been avoided had they spent more time cutting it. But a hair cut that lasted 15-17 minutes max for €38 on William Street is just not what I was expecting from a high spec Men's grooming salon. That's just my honest reaction.

Negative experience: Arrived 5mis before appointment, waited for 30mins, no one bothered to let me know Sandra was late. When queried about how long it’d take and why I wasn’t told when I arrived, got some attitude (“was I here when you arrived?”) and no concrete info on when I’d be seen. Only positive is they processed the refund immediately.

Fantastic experience: I got a haircut at Grooming Rooms a few days ago, and the experience was very positive. Jeff has a lot of experience with scissor cuts, and the result was great. Next time, I’ll try the massage or facial services as well!

Negative experience: The gentleman that cut my hair, was grand and the place looked lovely. But the haircut was atrocious, I thought it was fine and somewhat saveable. But I’ve gotten home and taken a look in the mirror and it looks hideous. The side burns aren’t even on both sides, the hair in the front is all different lengths, the left front is longer then the right, the middle is the longest, the front right looks like it’s missing a piece. Like a bald spot, if I could attach a photo I would. There was no carefulness taken to the haircut. It was rushed and no precision on attention to detail was taken. I had asked for a certain length above my eyebrow and the only part that is that length is little piece in the middle the side fronts are so short and missing section. It looks like someone took a jigsaw to the front of my hair. I am have a fair few dodgy haircuts in the past. But this is the worst, I’ve tried a million ways to style it but it’s not possible. I will have to go somewhere to get my hair recut. I am not usually one to write bad reviews, but I felt the need to write one this time. I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: Each time I visit the grooming rooms I am greeting politely and made to feel welcome. The reception area is bright and interesting, full of interesting products on shelves and a display for shaving accessories in the centre. The waiting room has a high ceiling and two large Georgian sash windows bringing in plenty of fresh air. The barbering area has large kiosks with good leather traditional chairs. I'm always very pleased with my haircut by Yan, who is a Senior Barber, a perfectionist. I always look forward to revisiting. It is the best place in Dublin!

It's a lovely building with newspapers and Nespresso coffee in the waiting area. I recently went to another provider and my experience was totally different! Negative experience: Terrible haircut. Did not refer to the picture and did whatever he wanted I told him 3 times at the start I wanted to leave the back long but took it from around 5 inches in length to one somehow. Did not cut the actual bit of the hair I wanted cut. If you want a modern haircut that actually looks good stay clear of this place.

Positive experience: Was ok, nothing special. Appointment booked for Friday 6pm, maybe that had something to do with it. Booked cut and patch test for colour. Patch didn’t test didn’t happen (I was asked when I was paying if I wanted to go back up for it), haircut felt rushed, took 15mins, wouldn’t pay 45 euro for that again

Fantastic experience: Overall Experience: My first visit to The Grooming Rooms was a very positive experience. The entire process, from booking online to paying my bill, was seamless and efficient. Booking: I was able to easily book an appointment online for the same day. I chose the "Wash, Cut, and Finish" service and had to make a deposit to secure the appointment. The remaining balance was paid at the salon. Reception and Waiting Area: Upon arrival, I was greeted at the front desk, where they have various hair and beard products for sale. I was then directed to the waiting area, where I could relax with a coffee or water. The waiting area is spacious and has plenty of seating options. Haircut: My barber, Jeff, was quick and efficient. He understood exactly what I wanted and was able to interpret the reference photos I brought. I was very satisfied with the final result. Overall Satisfaction: I will definitely be returning to The Grooming Rooms. My experience from start to finish was exceptional.

Negative experience: I booked an online appointment, and paid for it partially. Then, I had to reschedule over phone (all was good, no questions asked). But on the date I discovered that it had been actually some "deposit" and it was now lost. Hm... nobody warned me about that at book time or when I called to reschedule. If I knew, I'd probably cancelled the booking altogether. Anyway, it's VERY unlikely I'll be their client ever again, and even if I will, I definitely won't pay anything in advance. It's ok to take a deposit, but you need to state that clearly, otherwise you seriously harm the trust. Can't recommend.

Fantastic experience: This was my second time going to the Grooming Rooms and like the first time it did not disappoint, very professional and comfortable. The soothing music with the friendly chats, made the whole experience fantastic. I look forward to my next visit already. Perfect location in city centre, clean venue and equipment, easy online booking system. And staff are lovely, polite and friendly!

Positive experience: Great service, very professional, calming environment, very accommodating. Only reason I give it 3 stars instead of 5 is that I was charged more than 2x the amount that was said to be paid on the confirmation email and it was not explained to me why I was charged that much. Other than that it was a great service.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love going to the grooming rooms. I usually get a Swedish massage and facial which I find so relaxing and rejuvenating. All of the therapists are highly skilled and competent at what they do. I always receive a very warm welcome each time I come from the receptionists and the therapists. This is truly a gem in the heart of the city.
