Negative experience: I came because of all the reviews, but I won’t be back. I tried to communicate that I had never had a nice salon-style haircut before, but somehow all he got from the conversation was that I wanted it ‘short’. Fair enough, but he proceeded to take his shaver from the bottom of my head right to the top in one fell swoop - taking off far too much hair for me to tell him to stop. I asked him to at the very least not take too much off the top, but he still shortened it an entire inch more than I asked for, and thinned it out so much it’s almost as if I have no hair left. I’ll have to hide this haircut for a while, and I won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: From the second you walk into The Plain Barbers you realise that it is no ordinary shop. The decor says 'You are in a barbers where the proprietor takes care of how he presents himself and his shop and this is reflected in the quality of haircut he provides. I will simply go nowhere else. First rate every time and the fact that over the years not once have I ever found it empty of customers. We knowledgeable ones know we are on to a very good service.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this place enough! I just needed my fringe trimmed and was dreading the cost since so many salons charge quite a bit for such a quick service. The barber here was so kind and did it for free - I really wasn’t expecting that generosity. The trim looks perfect and the whole experience was so welcoming. It’s refreshing to find a business that genuinely cares about their customers. I’ll definitely be back and telling all my friends about this place!

Negative experience: Dreadful went in for a skin fade guy clearly was acting severely troubled gave me basically a bowl cut was dredful went to the one over the road and they sorted it out perfectly would avoid this one if you want a skin fade the guy obviously doesn’t understand what he’s doing ( my beard was fine doe) no complaints there but haircut no way never going back there for a haircut and I will advise all my friends and family not to either and hopefully people reading this post will avoid this shop aswell good day:)

Fantastic experience: My first time there, I was treated like a regular. Juan listened to what I was looking for, asked questions to clarify, and gave an incredible haircut. I was going to a barber on high street who charges double and couldn't even bother to trim around the ears properly, so that I had to go home and fix the cut myself. Juan won't let you leave until you have exactly what you're after and his attention to detail is exceptional. Fellas, don't waste your time or money anywhere else.

My son wanted to buzz cut his hair as the barber left him so bad, but we managed to find this barber and convince my son to trust another barber and see if he could fix it. He did! This barber was so lovely, and done his best to fix what the last guy done. My son left so happy and didn’t want to wear his hood up out of the shop. He wants to go back to this barber! It’s further away from us but this place is definitely worth it.
