Our comment from BarberSpot about Ahead Barbers:
Ahead Barbers is a well-regarded establishment in the heart of Chelmsley Wood, known for its affordable prices and friendly service. Customers consistently praise the skilled staff for their attention to detail and ability to deliver excellent haircuts. The barbershop has garnered a loyal following, particularly among families, as many customers feel comfortable bringing their children for haircuts. With a clean and inviting atmosphere, it is a place where patrons enjoy casual banter while receiving top-notch service.
Some of the highlights noted by users include:
- Value for Money: Many customers appreciate the reasonable prices for quality haircuts.
- Experienced Staff: The barbers are described as friendly and attentive, making it easy for clients to express their preferences.
- Welcoming Environment: The shop has a warm and welcoming vibe that makes customers feel at home.
While most reviews are positive, there was a mention of one staff member using inappropriate language during service, which detracted from the otherwise professional atmosphere. Nonetheless, the overwhelmingly positive feedback makes Ahead Barbers a recommended choice for anyone seeking a great haircut in a friendly setting.

Fantastic experience: I have been getting my hair cut here for years, and have been taking my boys for their hairs cuts too. The staff are always friendly and cheerful. They tolerate with good grace the wriggly child who simply won't sit still! There are no TVs and no music/radio - which is just how I want it to be. Excellent, efficient hair cuts at very reasonable prices.

After years of using this place it feels more like popping into a friends house. Very clean shop and great for the little ones, as well as the teens. They comfortably deal with all ages, under pressure and Male to females.

Fantastic experience: Convenient disabled parking with excellent access to to all shops including ASDA SUPERMARKET.all main shops easily accessible to wheelchair users as well.
Negative experience: If you go there, play the 'Spot Someone Smiling' game. You'll be at it for a good while, nobody smiles there, nobody is happy... It's gloomy, grey and sad.

Fantastic experience: Main Bus terminus, can get buses for Birmingham city, solihull station n city, NAC, Airport, coleshill, Erdington etc... and it main shopping center for the areas, have Asda, Iceland, Mcdonald, KFC
Positive experience: Plenty of car park and last up to 3 hours. There are many shops and 2 big YMCA charity shop too.
Fantastic experience: Local shops loads of variety. Wheelchair access. Local bus services ... toilets. Closextk marston green train station. Various fast food restaurants
Positive experience: I was in the area for a few days and went here. It kind of reminded me of my child hood the way it was set out. The shops arent bad.. the main grounds are clean and tidy. Some decent shops there.. forget a primark when you've got the pound land and their clothing... worth a visit
Positive experience: Decent aray of shops, it's got a KFC and a cash converters, THE place to go if you need to look for recently stolen possessions.
Positive experience: Went to get my car cleaned at Jans in the multi-storey car park. As always £15 well spent.
Fantastic experience: Wide variety of shops. Local for me. Good parking facilities
Positive experience: It had everything you need downside is it's in Chelmsley Wood an alternative filming option for Shameless. On the plus side it is quite safe I comparison to other deprived areas
Positive experience: Chelmsley wood shopping centre has improved over the last year a lot of money has been invested to update the shopping mall. They put on events through out the year which is very child friendly and run compations from different outlets. Altogether a better shopping experience lately.
Fantastic experience: Good parking and plenty of shops to look in including Asda,Costa coffee and bargain shops including Poundland.
Fantastic experience: Good shops and a decent car park ideal place to kill a couple of hours when family were at the NEC
Positive experience: Great variety of shops plenty free parking frequent buses all under cover
Positive experience: Great modern shopping centre especially if your a chav great choice easy access reasonable parking free for 3 hours which is enough big Asda and many independents
Negative experience: Used too be full of good shops now it just run down glad I move won't be going back any time soon
Positive experience: Free parking but the spaces seem small. Quick to get in and out of the shopping centre if you only want a few things.
Positive experience: Handy place for the house hold things etc can shop anything you need has got almost all the stores like Asda, sports direct Argos etc and ample parking place..
Fantastic experience: Think this is such a great shopping centre, they always do free events for the children and also have a free play area there for young children. Shops are decent aswel.
Positive experience: Large ASDA, good parking. I didn't get time to check Out the rest of the centre.
Positive experience: Cool events from this place happen quite often. Casual shopping centre with nice staff in every shop.
Fantastic experience: I loved it here I had never been before but will go back all you need under one location. Perfect.
Positive experience: Chelmsley wood shopping centre is quite good. But dont go jd sports the help you get there is non existent the manger there is absolutely rubbish
Fantastic experience: Free parking, wilko, home bargains, asda, and a huge poundland. It also has the best costa coffee. What's not to like?
Positive experience: The shopping centre has so much potential and the variety of charity shops are great and good quality donations. People are friendly and approachable.
Negative experience: Stay well clear of chelmsley wood you see the local chaves dfuggies and tramps them single mommy's worst you will catch anything even going up there terrible place to visit you see all kinds up of riff raff up there
Positive experience: Yes, it's good place. It has Argos, Poundland, Asda, Wilko etc etc.
Positive experience: A versatile shopping centre but only thing missing is an shop /outlet for mens clothing you can only get sportswear
Positive experience: Asda is main store, parking is big and nice. But preferably some more variety of shops would make it better choice to go shopping to.
Positive experience: It is providing a good range of shops, and security there are banking facilities post office and library. The council offices are also on the site
Negative experience: It was okay. Shops are fine. Area is dodgy and there is rubbish everywhere, lots of construction. Toilets there are disgusting though. Don't use them.
Positive experience: Need more variety of shops. A good asda home bargains wilkos heron nice now Costa coffee has opened
Negative experience: Dirty, damp. Unhelpfull staff in shops. Massive puddles when raining. Restrictive access to shops while they are 're paving some areas with large gaps on entrance to shops to pushchair and feet get stuck
Negative experience: Complete all the paving work on the shopping centre so that you can walk into the shop's easily and not having to walk around the caged barriers, it doesn't look & seem very welcoming to a popular shopping centre and the car wash in the brick car park is silly, it takes up the entire ground level car park so you aren't able to park you're car anymore, leave the car washes too a petrol station.
Negative experience: I'm not a fan. To enter from the associated daires (asda, yes, that's what it stands for, really... I know your going to check that but it does) via an escalator that it very shiny, the hall you arrive in is suspiciously Blake's 7 looking (like in the first episode when everything to a little too clean... God I love Blake's 7) but then you have to leave your distopian sci-fi set, into the reality of chelmsley wood. I feel like in my memory it's always raining there. And there are faint screams coming from afar. It's just missing a hobo standing next to a burning bin for warmth. The trek around the place only gets more ensaddened (is that a word?) As you see the bright House store and the oddly too modern Gregg's. The people mostly keep to themselves as they know better than to engage strangers on their distopian narrative. Had a nice cup of coffee on the Costas though. And my mobile signal was great. So it's not all bad.
Negative experience: Has most of the usual shops that you might want. A bit grim and with closed shops. They did seen to be doing it up though.
Negative experience: Asda and a Greggs DO NOT make somewhere a SHOPPING CENTRE in my opinion....try opening some actual shops in the empty units....??
Negative experience: It a good place to shop but it need more shop with lot more thing people what . some were for people to sit down and fix the roof .
Positive experience: Needs to be able to make sure people are having a great day be more helpful and have a fun day every two weeks and do a cheap products day to get more revenue in just once a month I will do a new review if they can cater for the special needs children and young adults and everyone else
Positive experience: A lot cleaner and brighter easy access to all shops and toilets are spotless with plenty of parking spaces so generally all round good
Positive experience: Plenty of free parking at this shopping precict that has many rules about what you should not do. It has plenty of discount stores and charity shops. An ideal place to spot a bargain but do not take your roller skates as you may well be told off for breaking a rule.
Positive experience: 3 hours free parking at Asda or in the multi storey. Good for basic items and for a quick shop.
Positive experience: Losing its atmosphere, now shops are not allowed to display goods within the pedestrian area, in particular the green grocer's shop!
Positive experience: Busy free carpark.some drivers have very bad manners I wait for parking space and other drivers take my space I am trying to get into. I from bromley, Kent. People in Kent are very happy
Positive experience: Plenty of parking..quite a reasonable selection of businesses and well known retail outlets, i.e Argos, Wilko..bank facilities and a post office together with a wide range of smaller independant businesses available in the indoor market area..
Positive experience: Excellent shopping centre with free parking, mcdonalds, kfc, subway, greggs, asda, heron, argos, poundland, wilkos, gymnasium, home bargains, new look, sports direct, loads of charity shops..... Everything you need ;)
Positive experience: The amount of times I've seen ASDA trolleys dumped in the river by idiots who think it's cool to do so is infuriating. Still... can't blame a shopping centre for the idiots who vandalise it. Great deal of shops besides that with great parking.
Fantastic experience: plenty of bus routes can get you to the chelmsley wood centre and got good range of shops and got lifts and escalator for those who need them to get to asda and few other shops the rest are on one level and plenty seats around to have a break and there always someone like security that if you need them there there to help anyone.
Negative experience: Whatever you do don't park in the multi storey car park round the back one day after you've recently parked there or the crooks will fine you £60 claiming you parked overnight !
Negative experience: Just got a parking ticket for their free car park. The computers have made an error and thought that I spent the night in the car park. When in reality I visited twice. Far too much hassel for driving to their shopping centre and spending some money. If they are going to do this for a way of making a little bit of money is bad for the shopping centre business.
Positive experience: I do like it here, its got a good range of budget freindy shops like a poundland homebargains, wilko and Argos. An Asda. It has an indoor market with a range of different kiosks that can be good depending on what you're looking for. It has hair, nails and tanning salons. Plenty of food options from subway to a chippy, KFC to McDonald's, theres a greggs and Costa here too. There is a NewLook here, Select, Boots and a JD Sports. A few different banks. A butchers and more I forgetting I'm sure. It is somewhere you could come to do your weekly shopping, you're sure to find most, if not everything you will need. Hope this helps
Fantastic experience: They've really invested some money Into this shopping center. Plenty of parking, loads of good shops Inc. Asda , boots Argos, etc..... plenty of places to catch a bite to eat, Gregg's, McDonald's,KFC, Costa coffee etc.... & while you're shopping you can get your car cleaned inside & out for less than £20. Well worth a visit.
Positive experience: Average, has some shops which make it worth a visit. Not my favourite place when I am on the area
Positive experience: TBH I only go as it is so close to my work. It isn't the most attractive shopping centre and there isn't an amazing variety of shops. But I can usually get what I want there.
Fantastic experience: A nice and friendly place you can visit with all your friends and family you have so many different shops in chelmsley wood shopping centre I have been going for years and years the only problem I have noticed is I always leave with an empty wallet
Positive experience: Called in from airport, good size store, lots of different lines of goods, quite large cafeteria, worry haha a visit as it’s also adjacent the shopping centre, but beware it’s very busy and car parking is a bit of a challenge,
Positive experience: Could do with more big brand shops does a shopping area really need 2 Greg's???
Fantastic experience: Always seems a pleasant enough place, a bit of everything from basic cafe to Costa, to wilkes to poundshops.
Positive experience: Quite good shopping centre, plenty of parking, variety of shops, good transport links and rarely any traffic problems, quick & easy access.
Positive experience: Good transport links to chelmsley wood shopping centre, chelmsley wood shopping centre centre has quite a few shops and home bargains is one of the best shops.
Fantastic experience: A small but great shopping centre with excellent community spirit. Has a variety of shops where there's something for everyone plus places to eat and/or sit down for a coffee. The majority of people are very friendly and respectful. Parking is brilliant, good seating throughout and there are public toilets that are well maintained.
Negative experience: I went to Argos and I found it easily in the shopping centre but it had more of a budget shopping centre feel than anything I have been to before. The car park is massive and you can easily find a parking space, all in all if I had to I wouldn't mind going again.
Positive experience: Not a huge variety of shops anymore but it's usually quite clean and they also have seasonal and charity events every so often which can be fun.
Negative experience: It's a bit 70's tower block looking but has some decent shops and free parking
Negative experience: With chelmsley wood it got a lot of rats on there really bad place to shop on there chelmsley security like to pick on poeple all the time and they like to stalking any one they don't really care about the public who go shopping on there to be carefully because you will be stalking you really bad shopping center to shop the police let them do what they what to poeple because the main Boss pay the police all the time and becarefull people security who like to it any one and they get away with it all the time you people better shopping in ASDA because the chelmsley wood boss don't own ASDA really for public evey one should spend your money in ASDA go to other out of chelmsley wood
Positive experience: Car park was confusing but free, I think, for three hours, which is ample time to shop, over and over again.
Positive experience: Needs a mens clothing store other than JD sports. Something like a river island or even a men's section in the existing new look. Other than that a wide range of stores, clean and sheltered shopping fairly close to home.
Positive experience: I've only parked in the car park to meet friends, but it looks big and I'm sure great inside for shopping.
Positive experience: I always overspend here! Full of cheap shops and can get almost everything you need for day to day shopping. Lots of stuff goes on for the kids too. My favourite shopping centre and us just getting better
Fantastic experience: Great shopping centre, many known brands as well local shops, wheelchair access, 24 hours security
Fantastic experience: A variety of shops with a wide range of products. You can get virtually anything you need from here. They sometimes have different events in the middle and they are advertised in advance. Plenty of parking and different car parks and each one is free if it's less than 3 hours. Lots of places to eat and also an Asda to get some shopping.
Positive experience: Greatshopping centre you can get anything you can think of there is a great Greg's which sell cob and drink for 2pound bargain Sainsbury's and much more kids went to a dinosaur hunt few years back and they thought they enjoyed there to.e here would recommend for your shopping needs so give it a go many people shop here so worth a go
