Negative experience: ​I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Guelph Barber Shop. I came in specifically requesting a standard, professional scissor trim suitable for an office environment. I made this very clear from the start. ​To avoid any confusion, I even showed the barber a picture of myself with the exact haircut I wanted. I asked multiple times if he understood, and he assured me he did. Despite this, he immediately ignored my request and used clippers/trimmers to give me a faded haircut. ​I explicitly stated I did not want a fade. Now, instead of a professional office look, I have a haircut that makes me look like a teenager. It is incredibly frustrating when a professional confirms they understand your request and then does whatever they want anyway. If you are looking for a specific style or a classic scissor cut, I cannot recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: For the price of a skin fade, the care I was given was immaculate. Haben gave me tips on maintaining my hair and put genuine efforts to style the way I wanted it. Haben also puts in the work by using razor blades for the smaller details, cleaning up my eyebrows and cutting the fuzz hair to make my face look slimmer. He’s confident in his craft to tell me what he’s gonna fix next time knowing I’ll be back without saying anything.

Negative experience: Lack of skills and hygiene. The guy who was cutting my hair didn’t even know English, and he cut it way to low than what I showed him. And also he dropped the comb on the ground as he was cutting my hair and picks it back up and proceeds to continue using it.

Fantastic experience: Went here for a cut recently and wanted to try something very new so I told Sami to the best ability I could what I wanted, he brought up some of his own photos for reference and I just went along with it and they do a fantastic job. Everyone was so friendly for my first time . I was also pleasantly surprised on how detailed he was with my haircut, he took his time and made sure everything was good. Thanks guys!

Negative experience: I rarely write reviews. Barber: John I'm sorry... they ruined my sons hair. he told him he wanted it cut just a little to the point where it wasn't almost bald. almost immediately cut the sides too short, got a phone call mid way through which he picked up. cut the top way to short. When confronted he responded "sorry my english no good". VERY DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED. my son had previously went there with another barber and they did way better. also walk in is very awkward with no updates or greeting. my son cried to me because they ruined his hair for the rest of the summer.... WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

Fantastic experience: Had of he pleasure of getting my hair cut by Sami today! It was excellent as usual! Very meticulous, professional, friendly and came out excellent. He always makes sure it is how I want it! I've had Sami cut my hair at least twice and also by at least three or four other barbers at Guelph Barber. Havin and his team are all excellent and they all provide consistently excellent service! Go see them if you want your hair done right and an excellent and friendly atmosphere at the same time!
