Negative experience: Initially wasn’t going to write a review but after thinking more about it I just have too. Came in and had to wait 35 mins before I finally had my haircut started (mind you I had an appointment). Finished the haircut and I was charged more than 60 dollars for such a basic haircut with no add-ons like a beard cut or so, how the hell is this normal, especially if it’s just a regular haircut that took 30-40 mins…be more upfront with your pricing before charging people ridiculous prices…..

Positive experience: I guess I was crazy for bringing my son and daughter into a barbershop? I figured it would be fine, but they had no idea how to cut a girl's hair. I was kind of shocked, honestly. He was really nice, but it was not a great cut. My son's cut was awesome though.

I had the issue of never being satisfied with my haircut at different barbershops growing-up, because I felt like the barber was trained to give everyone the exact same haircut, and they didn't adjust the cut for the individual. However, at Captain Cutz, these guys actually get it right. Special shoutout to the owner, Yunis, who clearly understands how to make a cut look good for each unique individual, and has taken pride in his work since I've met him in the early days. Lastly, the shop is always clean, and is a comfortable place to lounge before your haircut! I highly recommend!

My haircut is a bit specific, they really take the time to listen and understand what you’re going for. I’ve booked with both Yunis and Raman, both killed it. Yunis makes a mean latte as well!

Negative experience: I made an appointment to get my hair and beard cut/trimmed the day before my wedding. The barder did not show up. I called the barber who I was scheduled with 3 times no answer. I called and emailed the store multiple times but no answer. Waited for 45 min until the next barber came in and talked to him. He said the barber who I was scheduled with booked that day off. ( I don't know how that is possible since I booked this appointment 3 weeks ago.) They could have called and changed my appointment. I had to run to nearby barber shops and ask them to cut my hair. Luckily someone took me without an appointment. I have been going to Captain Cutz for four years now. They are wonderful people and great barbers. Hopefully, they can learn from my not-great experience and be more proactive in the scheduling so that this doesn't happen to another customer

I booked with Yunis, and his attention to detail and ensuring I got exactly what I wanted.. I know at least for me, haircuts can be a source of anxiety with the amount of bad ones I’ve had over the years - Yunis just let me talk about what I was looking for, show some photos, describe what I didn’t want while he asked some questions for clarity.. we had some great chat and I was in and out within 40 mins - and my hair looks the best it has in years, and I’m a hell of a picky guy - so that’s saying a lot. 10/10 - you will not be disappointed if you book with Yunis!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to these guys when they opened their first shop by the post office downtown. They are very welcoming and also extremely knowledgable in what they do. The 2 new guys are also very good at cutting. Never have they let me down with a haircut always leave feeling happy. To even go over the top they have a pool table and a tv with a ps4 while your waiting for a cut can play some pool and make new friends. It's a great and lively place.

Negative experience: PSA: If you do not touch a pair of scissors for an entire haircut.. YOU ARE DOING A BAD JOB. I'm not naming names. There is an epidemic of bad haircuts going on. I've had my hair cut by 3 barbers here.. not a single one ever used a pair of scissors. My hair is straight and thick, and when it's all cut the exact same length and pushed to the side it looks like a flattop with some lean on it. Leaning Tower of Pisa looking head. I've expressed my concern over my hair having no texture. I've expressed my concern over it being too thick and need the "chucker blade thing" to lighten it up. All ignored. Hair cut again with the clippers start to finish. $50 lol Bro told me "I know hair".. Like this hair on my head hasn't been there my whole life. I know MY hair. And I know I've had WAY better haircuts for the same price. Scissors need to make a comeback in barbers. Fade is good 2 stars. Won' be back.
