The shop is clean, friendly and welcoming and not intimidating like many other barber shops. They provide quality service with clear knowledge and experience. As someone who has recently moved back to Guelph, this will be my new go-to barbershop to get my my bi-monthly haircut and beard service.

Fantastic experience: I visited in November while on holiday to see my in-laws. I forgot my razor and needed a shave badly. I was so lucky to find Ibrahim. Not only did he accommodate my request to buzz my facial hair first (because I have sensitive skin), he was friendly, warm, and a pleasure to sit with.

Fantastic experience: I went on new year’s eve to get a haircut after work, I called on the off chance that they would take me and they let me in politely and casually just as they were about to close. Omar cut my hair and did a great job, he kept conversation and was very polite, I would recommend this barbershop!

Negative experience: I have a visit at the barbershop couple days ago and I wanted to worn other that this is the Worst place ever in my life doesn’t use clean blades really dirty guy is really disrespectful and really expensive for no reason and using a different languages that made me really uncomfortable and based on the other reviews I read I agree with all of them .

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Othman's for my haircuts for about a year now. They are among the cheapest barbershops in the city (especially the discounted student rate) but outperform the others in terms of customer service and cuts. I have had cuts from both Ibrahim and Sami and they're both great. The shop has great atmosphere - clean, modern, inviting, and they even have extras like coffee, candies, and a free ATM for customers. They nearly always have availability for walk-ins or next-day appointments, and the location is very convenient. I love also that they take credit cards for payment, not just cash. I am happy to support a local entrepreneur!

Negative experience: Avoid Ibrahim at all costs. I booked a haircut here, and it was a nightmare. The barber (who doesn’t even deserve to be called a barber) completely ruined my hair to the point where I had to ask him to shave my head bald just to fix it. When I told him I didn’t like the haircut, he laughed at me, started talking and laughing with his partner (in another language) while looking at me, and humiliated me. When I refused to pay full price for a service that was done so badly, he said it's not his problem and he doesn't care and then he started yelling, filming me, and threatening to call the police just to force me to pay $63. I felt intimidated and disrespected the entire time. It was completely unprofessional, arrogant, and disrespectful. No customer should ever be treated like this. I will never return here, and I strongly warn anyone else from making the same mistake. There are plenty of barbershops in Guelph that actually respect their clients this is definitely not one of them.

Negative experience: This place is an absolute mess. The owner is incredibly disrespectful—not just to customers but to his own employees. He constantly hovers over the barbers, criticizes them in front of everyone, and makes them feel small over the tiniest things like using a different product or talking for a second. It’s a toxic and controlling environment. I asked one of the barbers about their Instagram so I could follow their work, and they told me the owner doesn’t even allow them to post their haircuts online. How are they supposed to build a client base or gain experience? It’s all about control and money here. He enforces a strict 20-minute time limit on haircuts, which means the quality seriously suffers. My fade looked uneven and rushed, and my little brother was almost in tears with how his hair turned out. Parents, don’t bring your kids here. Students, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Overall: rude management, poor treatment of staff, rushed haircuts, and an atmosphere that just feels off. Definitely not worth your time or money. **RESPONSE TO OWNER** Don't sit here pretending to “clarify” when you’re just twisting the story to save face. I personally heard the owner tell the barbers that they’re not allowed to post their work—so don’t lie and pretend you're supportive of your team showcasing their talent. It’s laughable that you even tried to spin it like you “encourage” them to promote through your page, when in reality you restrict them and take credit for everything they do. As for your claims about the shop environment and structure—spare us the $200K brag. That has nothing to do with how you actually treat your barbers or how tightly you try to control them. And saying rushed haircuts are the barber’s fault? That’s low. You’re covering up a toxic setup by blaming the people you undercut. Bottom line: don’t hide behind flashy wording and fake professionalism. Own up to the truth. People talk, and your workers have spoken. What you’re doing is dishonest—and people are catching on.
