Negative experience: Terrible. They did not give me the haircut I asked for. The person who cut my hair apparently doesn’t know what the word, “trim” means. He also didn’t ask clarifying questions to ensure they provided the cut I was seeking. Hair clippers were not needed for the cut I asked for. The assumption and reliance of hair clippers has become too problematic in the hair cutting business. Also, the TVs and Google review stickers block most of the mirror so customers can’t see what the barber is doing. I won’t be going back. Terrible

Fantastic experience: There aren't enough words for me to say when it comes to the craftsmenship that is delivered from these barbers. The atmosphere is friendly and positive with a hint of therapy for the boys. Cyrus, who I personally see every two weeks is a magician with cutting hair (especially with someone who doesn't have much hair of their scalp). He truly takes his time to make sure that you walk out black and white looking and feeling better. I thank you Cyrus for always taking your time and I recommend anyone and everyone to see the barbers here I promise you you will not regret it.

Fantastic experience: Update: The owner reached out and apologized and offered to help me out with future haircuts. Changing my rating to reflect the good leadership and action from this place. Came in with full head of hair, asked for short on sides and to leave hair curly on top. Barber did a full buzz cut and cut the middle of my forehead while doing the final lineup. He did not say anything so I found out when I saw blood in the mirror in my car.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Black and White Barbere in downtown Kitchener for ages, at least 15 years if I had to guess. Sina and his crew take top notch care during your appointment. Highly recommended for anyone who is able to visit their shop. The seating area for clients is well kept and stocked with coffee and drinks while you wait.

Negative experience: Got a haircut here on the weekend and I am extremely unhappy. I showed the barber multiple pictures of myself with the exact haircut I wanted, not only is it nothing like what I asked for but it looks so bad and is effecting my confidence so much that I haven't taken my hat off since. I will now have to pay someone else to fix this mistake. They also offer complimentary coffee which is really nice until you realize the creamer is expired and curdles in your cup. I wouldn't recommend this location of barbershop to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Black & White since 2001, when they had their small shop across the street. I think I was 14 years old, and there hasn't been any Barbershop that does a wicked job like these guys. Yesterday, I had my first haircut since my head surgery. Sina, the best barber in the Region, cut my hair. And it doesn't matter who cuts my hair, I know that one of the Barber would have been careful with my scar, that's now permanently on the side of my head, and styled a wicked cut for me. I love going here. Thank you guys for all the great years!

Negative experience: I have been coming here for awhile and it was always pretty good. This time however the barber I got kept talking on the phone and talking to his colleagues while cutting my hair. I gave two simple things I wanted from my haircut, a 1 or 2 buzz on the sides and no length taken off the top. Ive been growing my hair our for 2 years to wear it a certain way. Not only did the barber take length off the top, but more than 50%, probably closer to 70% of the length, and then got mad at me saying I wasn't clear with what I wanted. It will take me a year to grow my hair back out at least. I will never be going back to this barbershop.

Negative experience: Usually I don’t like to give low stars on a google review. But it seems it is imperative that I do so in this case. The barber Sean is rude, extremely condescending and doesn’t take any feedback as to how you want your to be cut. Guy is in the wrong profession. I booked an appointment with Sean since he was the most recommended. But to my surprise, right from the get-go this guy seemed irritable. You expect basic communication etiquette from a barber, but this guy was horrible. Snapped twice at me during the cut, completely shrugged off the pic where I showed him the kind of cut I wanted. Like he completely disregarded the pic and did whatever he wanted like he was doing me a favor with the haircut. Not worth a single dollar and these guys only accept cash. They agreed to interac only when I told them I had no cash only card.

I wanted to update my review and talk about another barber Cyrus. It was a couple days before my wedding and the barbers I usually go to at Black and White were either sick or off. I decided to go with Cyrus and I couldn't have been happier, he did an amazing job and put alot of effort into cutting my hair. He turned my wild crazy looking beard into a very well groomed look. He went above and beyond as he even offered for me to come in the day if my wedding to style my hair and make sure everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend any barber here!

Negative experience: Even god can’t grow the hairs instantly, if you make mistake Sean even after showing you the picture of what to do, the least I can expect is, you to admit the mistake rather than being rude and showing frustration. Please let your client know before hand if you are not in mood. You really need to know the etiquettes.

Positive experience: Cyrus is a great barber! He's very good at following instructions, and is equally as willing to offer any suggestions. He's one of the only people whom I trust completely trust with my hair aha. I've taken one star off due to punctuality. I have had to wait up to 30 minutes WITH an appointment which I am not the biggest fan of; kind of makes the whole point of "appointments" moot if I still have to wait 30 minutes to wait for my turn. But overall, great place, and great barbers!

Fantastic experience: On July 15, 2023 I was in the Kitchener area for a wedding and needed a shave. I had my first ever hot shave with Sina. Sina is very professional, talented, and has a welcoming and charismatic personality. My whiskers grow in a crisscross fashion so it is not easy to get a clean shave. Sina gave me a smooth and meticulous shave. He recommended a brand of shaver for me to use which I have already purchased. Sina takes pride in his work and is super friendly. The results were fabulous and I was extremely satisfied with the service that I received. I highly recommend Sina at Black & White Barbers for a hot shave. He is an extremely skilled barber. Fantastic experience: I have been to numerous salons and had countless barbers cut my hair over the course of my adult life. However, the connect that I found with SINA at Black & White Barbers at Kitchener location has been unbelievable!! He is so so welcoming, asks you all kinds of questions he thinks he should for getting you a master haircut. He loves talking about various topics and never ignores or avoids having a conversation. I have been visiting him for last 3 or 4 times and each time I just show him a picture of what I want and rest I leave it up to him and obviously he never disappoints. Each and every one else as well at this salon are so so welcoming and are very best at their services. You won't regret going to any one of them here. Negative experience: 2 stars because its a good place to go (if you go to right barber - yes not all the barbers know what they are doing) but the price hike - holy ****.... i understand things have increased in cost.. but i personally think they are just busy, and basically pulling a "netflix", increase prices, if 25% of customers leave, they still have 75% paying more to cover the difference and add profit price hike is causing me to walk - dollar wise its not huge, but percentage wise its huge - sorry guys

Positive experience: Was a regular here. They're usually pretty good with their cuts. Recently I went in to get my hair cut by Naiem for an appointment. I was accepted 15 minutes late to the appointment, and it was clear my cut was extremely rushed. The cut was done after only 10 minutes (in time for the next time slot) with significantly worse quality than usual. It should be the responsibility of the barber to finish cuts on time so that the next person doesn't lose time from their slots. Very disappointing experience this time around.

Negative experience: Keep increasing price and loosing customers. From $22 to $37 in such a short time is totally unreasonable and reason you guys are giving that price for everything went up. Let me tell you, prices are going up for everyone and not just you guys. You guys are making $30 extra an hour compared to before. This is totally unfair to customers visiting you guys from years. Negative experience: The worst barber ever, I asked them to cut my hair just a little and they ended up messing up my hair. I showed them a picture of what I want, and they gave me the exact opposite. They can’t cut hair, and they are very unprofessional. Naiem gave me the cut, and he was so rude and unprofessional. I don’t recommend anyone who wants a good cut to get their haircut from there, they don’t know what they are doing.

Positive experience: This place is great, only given 3 stars because of my recent experience with Naeim for Beard Trim. I am a regular customer here and always get my Hair and Beard done from Cyrus, who is amazing! This time I only had to get my beard done and was short on time to book with Cyrus, so thinking it's only beard what could go wrong and the system booked me with Naeim. He started off fine with my beard but then suddenly faded my sides too much. I wear glasses so I could not realize it immediately and when I stopped him and said this is too much fade and I never asked for any fade. My sides were not even fade before. He replied this is the 'Usual' we do. What is meant by usual? and How am I supposed to know that it's YOUR usual? Thats not MY Usual! After that it was just him trying to get rid of me as soon as he could. He got done twice, and I had to ask him again to fix this and that so that I don't look weird. When I came back home, I noticed my neck is not very clean as well. That I will have to do myself. I usually am more concerned for my Hair which I only get done from my regular barber, Beard I can get done from anyone. But I guess I should stick to my regular for Beard as well.

Negative experience: I went in to black and white today to get a beard lineup. Keyan an employee that did it, did the worst job I’ve seen in 10 years. He gave me a bald spot and butchered my hair. I’ve been a loyal customer for years but now I’m never going back to a company who hires with such little skill.

Fantastic experience: Sina was fantastic. He's a very competent barber, who takes the time to get the job done right. By comparison, it's as if I got my hair cut by Stevie Wonder, at my previous barber. Sina is a class act, and I'll definitely be back in 4 weeks.
