Fantastic experience: Tommy guns at Mt Gravatt have consistently been the best place for hair and beard trims, cuts and styles. Callum is a ray of sunshine and positivity. And Nick has the best the beard in the business. The entire team there rocks and always make you feel welcomed and ensure you leave happy!

Fantastic experience: Kinda expensive but the people were very nice, they can actually fade and my barber recommended stuff for my hair so yea.

Negative experience: Only giving 2 stars reflecting my last experience. The barber did a good job on my hair, but he was very rough on the tools and felt like my skin was being scratched by them and felt like it was digging into my scalp without much care and very uncontrolled movement, moving my head with his fingers quite aggressively too. Didn’t want to complain in store since I love coming here so much, didn’t want to create a scene in front of the barber

Negative experience: $77 for a trim. Like around the ears and back of the head, 10min tops...

Fantastic experience: Great Experience! Being from America, it has been hard to find a barbershop to rely on. This is definitely the spot! Harry was my barber and was top tier. Not only was he knowledgeable and informative, but he was also a conversationalist. We had a great chat and some laughs while we breezed through my cut. 5 Stars absolutely

Fantastic experience: Went in for a chop after work and was taken in by Qualyn. The bro capital D Delivered, spruced up my lid in expert fashion. Not to mention a shmick touch up of the beard as well. Calm and respectful, attentive and precise, I would highly recommend getting your mop worked over by the OG chill guy. 12/10.

Negative experience: Staff were nice but $60 for a 12 minute haircut is robbery. Dont do it My usual barber is away so I thought I'd come to try this place. The staff were friendly. You get a can of drink with your haircut and a warm towel at the end but I had the most basic haircut done. Just a clean up. No fades or anything. No hair off the top or even thinining done. I never felt so ripped off in me life.

Negative experience: Usually I don’t have a problem with Tommy Guns. The haircut usually aligns with my expectation and the customer service is decent. But today, I went in, paid $68, and left with hair residue all over my brow (no hot towel provided after the haircut, which has usually been the norm when I’ve gone in) Furthermore, I’m left wondering where the back of my hairline went, looks nothing like what I asked for, not to mention the stray hairs left behind (see attached photos). I’m not usually one to complain, but when you’re paying a ridiculous amount for a haircut, you expect to leave in better shape than what you arrived in. Not impressed.

Negative experience: Idk if they train the 16-17 years old people there by butchering people’s hair and charging $70 for messing up Wish I could complain on this shop… When you’re not able to do a haircut that shown you so why would you accept that? If you can’t do a haircut properly so how could you work in a place like that?

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with this haircut. I showed the barber exactly what we wanted, but the haircut turned out completely different. The front hairline was clipped which doesn’t go with the overall haircut and now my son’s hair looks very odd. This was supposed to be a special haircut for him as he’s starting Grade 1 on 27 January, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst haircuts we’ve had.

Fantastic experience: The staff were friendly, and extremely helpful. I was a walk in, because I had a wedding in less than a week, they helped rejuvenate (removed the greys haha)and they made sure I was happy with my cut. 10 out of ten in all aspects.

Negative experience: I went to this barber with my boyfriend on the weekend and honestly it was shocking. There’s a weekend surcharge, so the haircut came to around $71, which would be fine if the service and result actually matched the price. Unfortunately, it didn’t come close. This is by far the worst haircut I’ve ever seen him have. It is not clean at all and looks rushed and unfinished. We specifically asked for a skin fade, yet the barber gave no fade at all and didn’t even realise the mistake. He only brought the mirror out at the end and still didn’t notice until my boyfriend pointed it out. The fade wasn’t blended at all. I’ve attached photos for a reference. What made it worse was the attitude. The barber spent more time talking about his qualifications and hyping himself up than actually delivering a quality cut. If you’re charging premium prices, the skill and attention to detail need to reflect that, and this absolutely did not. For $71, I expected a proper skin fade and professional service. This was neither, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with the trim. Service was top notch, I’m not much of a talker (socially anxious/Asperger’s) but the banter was definitely the highlight of the experience. The surprise cider provided was the cherry on top. Gone are the days of $10-$15 bloke trims, unfortunately that’s just a fact of life in Australian commerce, so it would be most unfair to penalise the rating of my experience based on my feelings price. I think the cost is fair, in this unfair economy. I’d definitely go back and pay for the experience all over again.

Negative experience: The worst experience in my whole entire life going to barber shops especially being a first timer!!!! Talking about listening to what the customer says, wanted a mid fade on the sides and back and a trim on the top, A TRIM!!! Doesn’t mean get the shaver and shave my whole top of my head. Now that not being the worst, proceeds to the mid fade, do you think he does a mid fade. NO!!!!! does a high fade and doesn’t even look like a fade, just looks like to was shaved off and that’s it. Listening to instructions is a basic tool and couldn’t do that. Really pissed off and not happy. I would not recommend ever coming here as they can’t be basic skills.

Negative experience: Only asked for a number one hair cut and if there was any singerly long beard hairs just trim those...he cut off half of my beard and shaped it to his liking...now it too me over a year to grow my beard closer to two and it's ruined...he thinned it to the point where their was no body to it...I've had to shave the rest off...really not happy at all and will never trust anyone with trimming my beard ever again

Negative experience: I've always been tempted to try this place but the prices have put me off. Yesterday, while doing some shopping decided to give it a go. Went in for myself and my son. The front desk staff were very friendly and polite. Even offered my son a juice box, although I wasn't deemed worthy of such luxuries. Not an issue for me, but the approach did seem inconsistent. I explained the cut required for my son as comprehensively as possible. It's not complicated but he has thick wavy hair and it had been a while since he had a cut, so it would be hard for a new barber to work out his usual style. The result was something that could only have been described as having been achieved with a chainsaw and teeth. The terrible cut itself could have been excused but it's hard to look past the multiple nicks around the neck and ears. There was even a a bald patch that matched the width of the trimmer. I was looked after by another young fella, who took the time to figure out what I wanted. Just a number 3 down the sides and back and even out the top. All good so far! But then he gets a call which he decides to answer, and have a yarn with his mate while trimming my hair. The manager had to step in and ask him to get off his phone. Didn't affect the quality of the cut (hard to mess up something that straightforward) but definitely not projecting a professional attitude. All this for princely sum of $91 only!

Positive experience: They’re ok. Been twice, different young fella each time. $100 for a basic fade (was ok, not amazing) and a clipper beard tidy up. Limited beard experience by the looks of things (not one of the young barbers had a beard). I appreciate Westfield have them over a barrel for rent most likely and of course you’re paying mostly for convenience, but unfortunately after two fades/beard tidy ups where I had to fix the beard at home myself I probably will go elsewhere for the money.

Fantastic experience: I first got Nicholas as my barber when he was the first available. Now I specifically request him every single time. He takes great pride in his craft, and he knows exactly how to produce the style I’m after. Despite moving to Fairfield from Wishart, I will still make the drive just to see him as I know he will deliver exactly what I’m after. Nicholas - you’re a legend!

Negative experience: The service provided was satisfactory, and the franchise layout appears promising. However, the pricing structure is not considered competitive. The cost was unexpectedly high, though this is not a reflection on the performance of the checkout staff.

Fantastic experience: Manny from garden city gave me the best haircut I've ever had and was the chilliest guy ever, new favourite barber.

Negative experience: Do not go here to get your beard cut. They do not know what they are doing and charge a more than most barbers. I will have to go somewhere else to get it all fixed. Avoid avoid avoid.

Positive experience: I would absolutely love to give this place a higher rating than 3 but the prices they are charging limits my ability. The customer service is fantastic and always had great chats with my barber. Everyone is always very polite and welcoming, cuts were always great so if that's all you're looking for then absolutely go here but I've come to find out that $62 for a fade is pretty excessive. I just can't in good conscience go here anymore when other barber shops are charging $40 for the same cut

Negative experience: Terrible experience! I was charged $87.58 for a combover and beard trim. The combover was butchered, and hardly anything was taken off the beard. I ended up having to fix the beard myself once I got back to my motel. Truely Over Priced for very little work!

Negative experience: I just wanted to share some feedback about my son’s haircut today — unfortunately, we’re really disappointed with the result. The hairdresser said he’d been doing this for years and never got it wrong, but sadly that wasn’t our experience. If you saw a photo of my son’s hair now, you’d understand why we’re upset. I was with him the whole time. We agreed on the back and sides, and decided to keep the fringe just above his eyebrows. When the hairdresser asked if we were trimming the top, I said yes, thinking it would be blended into the rest of the hair cut with some layering. But instead, the top was cut way too short — about 4 or 5 fingers from his scalp — and now it doesn’t match the rest, which is still down to his shoulders. It just looks completely uneven. We’ll have to go elsewhere to get it fixed, which is really frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Nicholas is the nicest barber in Brisbane, attention to detail is incredible and talks you through everything he does. Im balding pretty bad and holding on to hope and Nicholas has given some great advise. Get that man a raise!

Fantastic experience: A++ service. Booked a kids haircut, lady called me when they were ready about 20 minutes later. Young Nz chap looked after us and was great with the kid, very patient and worked quickly to get as much hair off as possible! My child on the other hand was not so great, moment he heard the clippers it was all over! Still the end result was the best cut we have had so far to thanks!!!! Will have to drag him back for his next haircut :)

It turned out to be better than any other hairstyles I've had before, and the price was reasonable. Negative experience: As per usual process, I requested my hairstyle showing the hairdresser the model's image. The only issue was that after nearly 90 MINUTES the haircut I received at the end looked nothing remotely similar to what I wanted. The core issue stemmed from the hairdresser having ADHD and the store manager not being attentive enough to step in and assist in cutting down the time and ensuring the customer was receiving the haircut they wanted. I've been a repeat customer to Tommy's for several years now, but the experience I had has was so poor that I'll never return.

Fantastic experience: My partner went in for his usual fade and could not have been happier! In the past we’ve had issues with barbers cutting out his curls or not knowing how to cut and style his hair to his type properly. Harrison did not disappoint!! In their chat throughout the service, it was brought up that I have severe scalp psoriasis. Harrison was quick to recommend an amazing product from American Crew that has genuinely helped ease the severity so much in only 2 washes. I was sceptical at first as nothing has worked after years of trying multiple products and treatments and seeing a noticeable difference and reduced redness nearly immediately has been insane. His knowledge has been unmatched compared to other barbers we’ve spoken to in the past and we could not recommend Harrison more. He’s an absolute asset to the Tommy Guns Garden City team!

However I did ask for a fade 1 on side and short on top to which she didn’t do which was disappointing she left it abit longer than I would have liked it.
