Fantastic experience: Finally the experience I’ve been searching for exists. Robert was great and really helped me feel like I was getting the right cut that made me feel my best. I’ve had many experience seeking advice and usually don’t get it. It was great to have someone ask me what I didn’t like about my hair and them be able to finally fix it. Not to mention Cathryn at the front was incredible and friendly, while I enjoyed a great old fashion. I will be back because I feel like I found a spot that is for me. Left very satisfied and a drink to top it off.

Negative experience: Barber just talked a bunch of trash about competitors I know and like bragged about how great they are but couldn’t follow simple direction with photos and totally screwed up my hair. She went on and on about how she was the trainer too. Yikes. Will not be back.

Fantastic experience: Had the pleasure of getting my hair and beard done by Mercy. Made me feel right at home, great conversation and even better service. Would give more stars if I could. Freya at the front desk was also amazing and makes a great negroni.

Fantastic experience: This place is really great. Nice atmosphere, and a wonderful experience all around. I'm not much of a spa person, so it was a treat to get the face wrap and neck razor shave add ons to my cut. And a nice selection of whiskies to boot!

Positive experience: Really nice atmosphere and great whiskey selection for a post-trim drink. It was a bit difficult to communicate what kind of cut I wanted, but perhaps that was my own inexperience with specifics on length. Was happy with what turned out!

Negative experience: Be very careful who you book with here. I went in and asked for a low taper starting with a 1 guard and no length off the top. The person took my entire side down to an 1 and gave me a high and tight. They also cut a multiple areas too short and there are “holes” in the side my head and the fade has also not been faded in and every guard change line is viable. I am a previous barber and was able to fix it but paid 77$ to not have to fade my hair myself.

Fantastic experience: Haircut includes a drink at their bar which, for being a barbershop, has a variety of selection. Considering the drink, it’s decently priced, the people are nice and the vibe is good.

Maria offered some great coffee at the front and Christopher listened to what I wanted, provided answers to a lot of my questions, and gave me my first good haircut in Seattle after moving here about 2 years ago. Will be coming back for sure!

Fantastic experience: This is the BEST haircut experience you can have in Seattle! Why? 1. It's the same price as every other Seattle barber, but includes a top shelf drink (Cocktails & Beer). Plus a hot face towel, razor neck shave, scalp massage, etc. If your current barber isn't giving you these perks, you're just throwing money away. 2. DAMN good stylists. Seriously, the best and most consistent haircuts I have had in years. I get lots of compliments and I love the way my hair looks. The stylists here cut my hair to match my head shape, make sure it looks good before I walk out, and as the cut grows, it still looks good. Testimony: I got a flat tire the other day. As soon as I walked in the door, the team here started taking care of me. They made sure I got all the grease off my hands and clothes, put me in a comfortable chair with a cold drink, a hot towel, hair wash, and scalp massage. I came in the door frustrated and I left relaxed because they treated me as a person with kindness and respect. This is what top tier service means. While my wife goes shopping over at UVillage, I'm over here having an Old Fashioned, watching the game, and getting a fresh cut. What more could you ask for? Scissors and Scotch are by far the best barber in Seattle, period! Ps. They do giftcards if you're looking for the perfect gift for that special someone. ;)

Fantastic experience: As a local haircut location with a fully stocked bar, nothing can compare to the presentation and customer service. My hair magician was the pinnacle of professionalism, keeping constant communication throughout in a teamwork effort to make sure I don't leave until I'm completely satisfied. Easily the best bang for your buck for everything you get to pamper yourself and make sure you are at your absolute best. I look forward to coming back again soon in my new home shop.

Fantastic experience: Scissors and Scotch is always a great experience. Parking is convenient and the shop is clean and comfortable. Ahmed is a terrific barber. He's quick, efficient, and takes detailed notes on each haircut making it so easy to just roll in and say "same as last time" and actually get it.

Fantastic experience: Coming in from San Francisco I tried many “top” rated barbers and stylists all over the Seattle area going as far as commuting 2 hours out of range to find absolutely trash unartistic people who had no idea what they were doing HOWEVER I found this barbershop after months of searching unenthusiastically and once they assigned me to Zach he blew my mind. I am extremely picky however he never disappointed me not once. I can confidently say he is the best barber in Washington State. He will memorize your head and what you like/dislike without even having to be told. He genuinely blew my mind. People with his talent are rare. By the way there is no other service in Seattle like Scissors & Scotch. THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR PEOPLE.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience for a fist time customer. Will definitely continue my hair cuts here. I have a lot of anxiety around getting my hair cut. I never sure how to explain what I want. The hair cut was perfect and the extra stuff like waxing and facials was worth the price. I highly recommend this place. Negative experience: I have been a Scissors and Scotch member for over two years in Denver and always had great experiences there. After moving to Seattle, I went in for a haircut and was told by my Denver location that my membership would transfer and was already set up. When I showed up for my appointment in Seattle, after calling and confirming they had my account info from Denver, everything seemed fine until the end of the visit when they told me my membership was not valid. The Denver staff even called the Seattle shop to confirm, but the Seattle team refused to honor it. I now pay for two memberships at 60 dollars each and was still charged an extra 128 dollars. The whole situation felt very unprofessional and frustrating. I used to really enjoy Scissors and Scotch and recommended it to friends, but after this experience, I will not be returning. The Seattle location is poorly run and completely mishandled the situation. I Absolutely cancelled, and you should too. Find a local barbershop that doesn’t try to screw members.

Fantastic experience: I purchased a monthly 10-year membership two months ago. Scheduling has been flawless, timing has been perfect, and I haven't received so many compliments on my haircut in, well...ever! Eve is outstanding, perfect with the banter, so much so I often have to stifle laughter to keep from messing up my own fade. 10 out of 10 would recommend Eve and Scissors and Scotch for any man who cares about looking sharp and wants to keep it that way.

Initial Impressions As a first-time client at Scissors & Scotch, I was assigned to the first available stylist, Jamie. I consider myself fortunate to have had Jamie attend to my appointment. The 25-Year Service I selected the 25-year service, having not had a haircut for an extended period. From the initial consultation through the haircut, line-up, and all additional services, Jamie consistently demonstrated professionalism, thorough knowledge, and attentiveness. At every stage, they ensured my comfort and provided clear, informative guidance.

Fantastic experience: I always get my haircut by Ahmed and have never been disappointed. I have thick Asian hair which is sometimes hard for some barbers to cut and style, but Ahmed consistently does a great job. He also gives excellent tips on how to style my hair. Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: A little disappointed in the beard trim/shape. I chose to go here to try somewhere new, as I just moved to the area. I showed the barber a picture of my last trim, granted I did tell him Im not looking for that exactly and Im open to some freedom if he thinks something would look better. However in my opinion the trim looks like something I could've done myself at home and saved the money. My last guy seemed to take a lot more attention to detail for the same price. I was nervous about going here because it almost seems to scream "great clips" with a bar attached. Learned my lesson.

I usually go to the same person each time I go, but this time I needed a haircut done while my usual person was out. Ahmed did a great job with my hair and beard. When he was done I asked about the products he used and he went into details about the items he used.

Negative experience: At $150 for a haircut, beard trim, and wax, the price did not match the quality — the gap between the two was huge. Haircut: While the fade line was okay, it could have been much crisper. I also noticed multiple hairs at different lengths, making it look uneven overall. Beard: I received a straight razor lineup, but had to redo it at home to straighten the lines and shave it down to the skin. Wax: The eyebrow wax was poorly done — I had to stop by a nail salon afterward to get it fixed. For this price point, having to fix all three services myself is extremely disappointing. I expected professional, polished results, but unfortunately, that’s not what I received. Could be just that barber but not sure..

Negative experience: DO ! NOT! COME! HERE!! At first I thought this horrible experience was a one off, but after reading other people's reviews of the similar experience not only with the company but specificly the barber Nichy, this is obviously a pattern that Scissors & Scotch refuse to address. First off, Nichy REFUSED to view photos that I brought for reference and to show the type of cut I was looking for. Refused to look at them, that should of been the first red flag to leave. She ended up chopping off WAY more than agreed, years worth of hair gone because she's so terrible at her job. Her co worker next to her, alt colored hair, could definitely tell she was messing up again and tried to say something about the MASSIVE CHOP she was doing. Nichy didnt listen, just kept rambling about how she moved from Texas and how the owner would never fire her cause she is the only African American on staff and that it would be racist. If Scissors & Scotch is that worried about diversity, at least make sure the people hired won't embarrass you and your company. I went in with Rockstar length hair, came out looking like Tina Belcher in season 1 Then ON TOP of it all, Scissors &Scotch over charged me. The haircut+drink+tip was about 98$, then Scissors & Scotch charged me again seperatly for $120! Over $200 for the worse experience. I tried to contact them and no one would awnser, I even filled out thier inhouse survey hoping to get it resolved, nothing.I called and called and called, finally days later I was able to speak to someone who said they would "look into it" and call back. Never got a phone call back. I had to work with the fraud department of my bank to get my money back. Terrible employee, terrible haircut, and wayyy over charged, basically stolen from Do not come here! And if do and get Nichy, runnnnnn!!!!

Positive experience: I like my haircut. I love the employees at this place. Normally you have ‘your person’ to cut your hair. Here I just choose any stylist because so far they’ve all been great. The hot towel and beer should be mandatory everywhere.

Fantastic experience: I love coming to Scissors & Scotch - they do a top-notch job on delivering a precision haircut. The barbers and cosmetologists are friendly and talkative, while detail-oriented. Robert, my cosmetologist today, made sure that my haircut met my expectations and did a great job meticulously ensuring that all the hair was removed from my nose and ears with my waxing treatments. And of course, you can't forget the included drink with the service! There's no better way to wind down and relax than with a custom-made Manhattan after an expert haircut. Worth the trip from the Eastside!

Negative experience: DO. NOT. COME. HERE. I’m shocked the Google reviews are so good…all the honest ones are on Yelp. I wish I could say the negative reviews I read were exaggerations, but I should have trusted them. I made the mistake of booking first and reading later. Lesson learned. TL;DR: Nichy the "stylist" was rude, dismissive, and did the exact opposite of what we asked. Boyfriend asked for a trim, left practically bald. Wax service was forgotten too. Front desk lady was nice, but made no attempt to fix a very obvious bad experience. Never again. I booked a haircut and wax trio for my boyfriend. From the moment he sat in Nichy's chair, the experience turned into a humiliating and frustrating ordeal. He politely explained he wanted a simple trim on the back and sides and to leave the top virtually untouched. Instead of listening, she immediately argued with him, so he asked me to step in. I clarified: just a trim, no clippers, scissors only...which is not an unreasonable request at a place literally named for scissors. Rather than respecting what we, the paying clients, asked for, she loudly lectured us about split ends, claimed a scissor cut would be "pointless," and basically shamed him for not wanting frequent barber visits. She topped it off by loudly pointing out his "very obvious receding hairline" in front of everyone. The attitude was rude, condescending, and embarrassingly unprofessional. She then ignored every preference he had. Her "solution" was a clipper cut: a #4 on the sides with a promise to "dust" the top with scissors. In reality, she buzzed nearly everything. He went in with four inches ....he left looking like he's headed to boot camp. To add insult to injury, she clipped too high and then claimed she had "no choice" but to keep going with the clippers to fix her own mistake. When he came out to the lobby, I was so horrified I literally walked out. But it gets worse: she completely forgot to do the wax services he had paid for, so we had to awkwardly go back just to get that refunded. This shop may be fine if you want a buzz cut and to be treated like an inconvenience. But if you expect a stylist who respects your wishes, treats you with basic courtesy, or can actually deliver what you request; save yourself the frustration and embarrassment.

Positive experience: I love the atmosphere and they do a great job. Highly recommend Tiffany for a haircut. The bar leaves something to be desired. Very little scotch even though it is in the name. Everything is bourbon or mixed drinks where the bartender seems to have limited experience except for the bartender there during the midday she is great and attentive They need to upgrade the scotch offerings or just change their name to bourbon and scissors

I was initially skeptical about the monthly membership because it's yet another monthly payment, but it has helped me make sure I don't let my hair grow too long. Negative experience: Despite me saying "I like my hair long and still want to be able to pull it back into a ponytail", she started by cutting off a full foot of my hair in a single snip. I was so shocked, but the damage was already done. So I let her keep cutting, hoping the end result would at least look okay, even if it wasn't at all what I asked for. The longest portion is now only 2", when it used to be nearly 2 feet, and I specifically said I wanted to keep it long. She was overall very rough during the whole process, and my neck is very sore and stiff since the appointment. She also nicked my neck and face in multiple places during the shave, and when I mentioned it she said "oh that's natural", but I still needed styptic powder on three different cuts to stop the bleeding. Never going back, even after I've finally grown my hair out long again, however many years that takes.

Fantastic experience: Scissors and Scotch was a new experience for me. If I lived in the area I would definitely return. The receptionist is awesome. Robert was one of the best hair stylists I’ve been to. The complimentary whiskey choices were great. If you live in the area it’s a must go.

Negative experience: At my appointment I had a photo of what I wanted and we discussed cleaning it up and taking 1/2 and inch off the top and back with a zero fade on the sides. Instead of listening to me and following the photo the barber cut off about 2-3 inches. My mullet was completely cut off. This took 4 months to grow out and groom. Thankfully the front desk person/bartender could see my disappointment and took half off the bill. I might try this place again but definitely won't see the same barber. It's been 12 hours and I'm still pretty annoyed at the fact my hair is butchered.
