Negative experience: Rather shave my head bald then come here again. Poor haircut and poor experience. Haircut was uneven. You will get a haircut that will be as fast as possible they will cut your hair in 10-15 minutes and charge you as if they cut your hair for an hour then be your buddy and ask for a tip at the end. The “barbers” mostly watch tv the whole time. Because there watching tv they are not paying attention to cutting hair. Better if you just cut your own hair then come to this shop with the amount of attention and care they provided. Listen there’s so many barbers in the area honestly try anywhere except here. Try university avenue barber shop I’ve had better experience there.

Negative experience: Came home and saw with clarity what a hack job MJ did. I had to take my Wahl shears and give myself a buzz cut to clean up his mess.

Fantastic experience: Love these guys. They’re a total chop shop. They whip out haircuts FAST and reasonably priced. But the important part is they’ve always done a great job for me. Pretty basic fade cut though. Great banter too, especially if the shop is slow . My hair grows so fast, I’ve always hated having to get haircuts and never being what I wanted. I don’t have that problem anymore. But being able to properly communicate what you want helps as well. If you expect a $200 stylist cut, go to a stylist. If you want get shaped up quick for a few bucks, they’ve gotcha covered. Best part is they are super chill and always seem to be having a good time.

Negative experience: This is the worst barber shop I’ve ever seen. So it's messing it up on my hair sides and my hairline and do not go in there anymore. So I doubt that I to find a better barbershop place.

Fantastic experience: I been going to Tight Cuts for about seven years now and I’ve never been disappointed. They’re my number one choice whenever I have the option, the care and attention they give shows they aren’t just excellent at what they do, but enjoy doing it. The banter between the barbers and the engagement with me as a customer and even others in the lobby brings a good sense of community without dialogue feeling forced.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Tight Cut's for about 5 years and this place has never disappointed me. MJ has always been my go to stylist for my long straight hair and has always left me feeling great about myself. Went in today to swap up a hairstyle that I have had for about the past 3 years now and was surprised at how much better my hair looks now. Staff is super helpful/friendly and are a must go to place if you are around the U-District.

Fantastic experience: Been coming to this shop for nearly 10 years, since I was starting college at UW. Some of the most skilled and friendly barbers in the city. Not only do they understand hair on a different level than other barbers I’ve met, but they always have the customer first on their mind. The number of times they’ve offered me free touch ups a week later because of job interviews, weddings, and even birthdays is incredible. Have been and will continue to support these guys.

Positive experience: kind of expensive and the barber cut off too much of my hair i asked for half an inch off but he cut off more like 1-2 inches. asked for a low fade but it was more of a high fade. idk.

They understand your instructions very well and know what haircut you want before you even finish describing it. They always have given me a great haircut and I go to them for any haircut that I need. They have a super fair price and there’s parking nearby so it’s super easy to just swing by so I would recommend them highly. The staff are super nice and want to make sure you are getting what you want out of your haircut.

Fantastic experience: I walked in right when they opened today and Yassin took care of me right away. I barely had to explain what I wanted and he just knew exactly what to do and did an amazing job. The cut didn’t take long at all, the price was very fair, and I left really happy with how everything looked. The only thing I’d mention is they didn’t take cards and I didn’t see any signs about it so just be ready to bring cash. Also after my beard trim I was asked to go clean my face in the back sink with paper towels and when I came back someone was already in my chair. It might have been nice to wait or offer a hot towel instead. Other than that it was a great experience overall. I’ll definitely be back to see Yassin for my next cut.

They consistently deliver incredible fades and really nail good styles. Beyond the fantastic cuts, the atmosphere is on point, human touch there.
