Fantastic experience: I've been to multiple chain barbershops like Rooster's, Finley's, Boardroom, Bird's (down in Austin), and other Floyd's locations. But I wanted to give a special shout-out to Julio at this particular Floyd's for being exceptionally welcoming and warm while giving me a truly careful and phenomenal haircut and full facial shave. It was an excellent deal. Beyond Julio's service, this shop is conveniently located right off the highway (75) and very walkable from the DART rail system (which I took for this most recent visit). The other times I've been here and have seen other stylists and barbers the service has never been shy of superb.

Negative experience: If you’re looking for a warm welcome, friendly faces, or even a simple “thank you,” this is not the place. I walked in, bought $81 worth of stuff, and somehow managed to earn zero smiles and zero gratitude. The best part? I got skipped for a haircut while the guy behind me got the chair first. No communication, no explanation, just the silent treatment with scissors. Honestly, I felt like they were going to cut my hair out of spite. So if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to feel completely unwelcome, uncomfortable, and invisible—this is your destination. I returned everything and walked out. No thanks, I don’t need a side of hostility with my haircut.

Negative experience: I originally left Jerry a positive review after he asked me to, since I generally liked his haircuts. But after today, I’m changing it to one star. I had a 12:30 appointment and showed up just four minutes late. By that time, Jerry had already skipped me and started buzzing another client’s hair right at 12:30—so my appointment was gone before I even walked in. When I asked, I was told it would be “real quick,” but that defeats the purpose of making an appointment, especially when paying nearly $50 per cut. I’ve always tipped well, but skipping me over four minutes showed no consideration for a loyal customer. And honestly, Jerry barely speaks during haircuts, which is low-key rude on top of everything else. Won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: I've gotten my haircut with Jerry J. now 5 times, the first 2 were by chance but after the 2nd one I make sure to drop in on days he is working and now I'll make it official and name him my barber. He does an excellent job, is consistent, professional and most importantly makes me look good. I'll be making appointments moving forward. Fantastic experience: Did walk in on a Sunday morning. The staff was kind and professional. Haircut was great. Jose did a great job. Music style was perfect, but volume made it hard to hear receptionist.

Negative experience: Booked a mid-length haircut the night before with the next available stylist with the intentions of getting a mullet. After waiting 20 minutes (to be fair I was 15 early) the receptionist told me that the person I booked with could not cut “girl hair” and that no one else in the shop could either. When I clarified that I wanted a mullet and was fine with a “boy haircut” I was asked if I wanted to reschedule for the next day when someone that could cut my hair was working. tldr: if you’re a woman (even if you book the appropriate cut online) call ahead or find a different barbershop.

Went to see Carlos CJ, and instantly knew what i wanted, how i wanted it and executed with amazing detail and precision. A master at his work and came out 1000% satisfied with the cut and service.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been getting my hair cut by Carlos Gutierrez at Floyd’s on McKinney Ave in Dallas for over 10 years, and I can confidently say he’s the best barber I’ve ever had. He’s reliable, consistent, and genuinely cares about making sure I’m happy with every cut. He remembers exactly how I like my hair, listens when I want to switch it up, and always delivers a clean, professional result. Floyd’s itself is a great shop — it’s always clean, and I’m greeted warmly by the front desk team every time I walk in. The online booking system that was added a few years ago has been a game changer. It makes scheduling so easy and convenient. Carlos is the reason I keep coming back, but the whole experience at this location is top-notch.

Negative experience: Came in to get a fade and the barber never asked me what size guard I wanted. He just started cutting it super short. The barber also kept ripping out and pulling my hair while using the thinning shears. I booked the $35 cut expecting to pay that much but when I came to check out the lady told me I would have to pay $44 instead because it was a “skin fade”. I didn’t want to pay that. I didn’t ask for that. I specifically booked the cheaper one. To not mention or say something before cutting my hair to let me know It would cost more is so shady. I felt pressured to pay and feel so upset with my experience. Forcing me to pay more for something I didn’t even ask for is unfair. Also charging someone more for getting a shorter haircut is ridiculous. It’s a barbershop. I’m paying you to cut my hair but you’ll charge me $10 more to cut just a little more when I never asked for a skin fade is not right.

Negative experience: I’ve been a loyal customer at Floyd’s Barbershop in Uptown Dallas for the past six months, consistently seeing Bobby for my haircuts. Finding a good hairstylist is no easy task, so once you find someone decent, you stick with them. To ensure I secure an appointment with Bobby, I typically book a few days in advance or even weeks ahead if I know he’ll be out of town. It’s customary at Floyd’s to wait 5–10 minutes past your appointment time, which I’ve come to accept as normal. I always arrive at least five minutes early to respect my appointment. For my most recent appointment, I booked a few days ago and was scheduled for 12:00 PM today. As usual, I planned ahead. However, when I arrived at the shopping center’s parking lot, it was completely packed. After circling the lot three times, I gave up and parked on the street about two blocks away. By the time I reached the shop, it was 12:07 PM. I explained my situation to the front desk, mentioning the parking issue and my appointment. To my surprise, the receptionist informed me that I had already been marked as a no-show. When I asked why—especially since I typically have to wait 10–15 minutes to see anyone—she said this was a policy across all Floyd’s Barbershop locations. She then went to speak with Bobby, who refused to see me and instead referred me to another stylist. This was the breaking point for me. I’m taking the time to write this because the management’s lack of flexibility and poor customer service needs to be addressed. I will not be returning. It took me five tries to find a stylist at this location who wasn’t rushing through appointments, upcharging unnecessarily, or lacking experience. Unfortunately, even Bobby, who I thought was different, has let me down. I’ve overlooked a lot—the rundown, outdated location with worn-out hardwood floors, the revolving door of stylists—but the least you can do is show the courtesy to confirm appointments and offer flexibility when regular customers encounter minor delays.

Positive experience: Showed up at 3:10 for a 3:00 appt, but had to wait until almost 4 to be seen. But our stylist was AMAZING, my son got the best haircut he's ever gotten, and she was so sweet to him! Will be returning.

Negative experience: I had the worst experience in this place today. One of the barbers cutting my hair cut my hair wrong after I repeated what I wanted 3 times. I grew my hair for 6 months so I could have a mullet. Also, she told me to get out of the chair because she didn't know how to do a fade and she would call another guy to come cut it because she was afraid of messing up my hair more. I've been a customer of this place for 4 years and I've never had this problem before. The quality is definitely going down. By the way her name is Pinkee. Do yourself a favor and never schedule with her!!!

Negative experience: Worst haircut I’ve ever received. Proper hack job. 1-5 taper fade was requested .. got grade 1 along the whole side (also left a mullet?). Thinning scissors left spiky hairs (bear in mind I had mid-length hair pushed back) all over that don’t go down. Had to book a separate barber appointment immediately after to try and salvage it and they were shocked.

Negative experience: I had a appointment today at 9am which I was sure on time for. The parking isn't the best honestly, I didn't know where to park the few spots in front of the location say 15-30 minute parking. I belive the haircut take more time then just 15 minutes so I didn't want to park there. I saw a young lady walking out the shop and tried asking her where I was able to park just to make sure but she ignored me completely. I called to her 3 times and each time I was ignored definitely didn't like that at all so I left. Now I'm disappointed I didn't get a hair cut! Waisting my time.

Negative experience: THEY DELETED MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. First off, I have never given a review in my life, but my haircut was so bad that I feel obligated to. This is my second time writing this because they deleted my review which is so funny to me. Anyway, worst haircut I've gotten in years, the person who cut my hair is Trey Y. It is uneven, has grown out horrible, cut way too much off of the top, the fade is terrible. Everyone else here is great, I've been here multiple times and have gotten great haircuts every time I've come. Just Trey Y, he is terrible and I seriously recommend avoiding getting your haircut by him at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Shannon M. is incredible. She does a razor cut on my hair after tons of other hairdressers have told me it wouldn’t be good for my type of hair and she makes my straight boring hair beautiful and wavy with her styling. She’s the best!! She also did a French bob for my teenage daughter and everyone who sees her cut absolutely loves it and asks about it.

Negative experience: Just don't bother. Tried multiple times as a walk in and always told "no availability" while 4 of the 6 employees are sitting around on their phone with no one else waiting. Don't advertise walkins if you don't want more business.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to several Floyd’s locations across the country and this one is always clean and efficient, and never gotten a bad cut. I started going to Jaz a few years ago and she has never let me down. I am reluctant to leave her such a good review cause it would mean it’s harder for me to get last min appointments but legitimately she is great!

Fantastic experience: Jazz is by far the best barber I've had in my life. I've been going to Floyd's for about 5 years now and she's been my barber for over 4 of those years. She's done such an amazing job on my fade and I can't go to anyone at this point. Not only is she an amazing barber but also an excellent manager as well. Negative experience: Won’t be coming here again. Fired the only good barber I ever had, always have to wait 10-15 minutes even though I always make appointments and arrive on time. Final straw was my last cut when I paid $35 for essentially nothing to be cut after waiting for 15 minutes even though there were no customers in the shop and 3 barbers available.

Negative experience: Walked in at 1:20 12/31/23 to get a quick fade and there were three barbers one actually working on a client and two just hanging out with each other and no other customers waiting or anything, the dude said that they were fully booked but there was none other waiting, it is unimaginable that a Barbara could not do a quick fade for a loyal customers that has been coming in for years for a quick fade when there was literally no one else waiting and it seemed like the other reservation weren’t even close to coming in. I understand that people make reservations for a certain time and they would like to get attended to when they arrive but if there is no one there and two barbers/ three barbers not doing anything, I don’t see how come one could not take in a walk-in for a short 15-20 min haircut. Terrible decision making and customer service.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment here at 1:30pm. When I got there the receptionist told me I was scheduled for 2pm, despite the fact that I had the email with the 1:30pm appointment time I politely agreed and left to grab some food before the appointment. Got back at 2pm, and the receptionist told me that I could wait and they would call me soon. 20 minutes pass and 5 other people who barely got there got in their chairs before me. Finally two separate barbers are free, and I am still being ignored, when the 6th person go sat and it was 2:25 I had to leave. There was no communication, a complete lack of awareness, and overall a sense of me being a hassle for asking about the the time to begin with. Ridiculous and I’ll never go back.

Fantastic experience: Bobby T. is the best barber I’ve ever been to. A true master of his craft. He is extremely skilled at using clippers and scissors to deliver a beautiful, balanced hair cut. Negative experience: I use to love this place. The lady there was extremely rude, vaping and on her phone while other hairstylists were also doing nothing. I waited for 10 minutes, in awe, as all of them ignored customers. Sorry, never going here again. edit: just this location. I'll probably go to another location.

Fantastic experience: Shannon is AMAZING! If I could give her 10 stars I would. I’ve been coming to see her for a little over 6 months now and actually look forward to my next cut because I know that she’s gonna make me look and feel like a million bucks. Negative experience: I’ve been here a few times and it’s usually pretty good. This last time I dropped in and asked for a pretty simple haircut - low fade blended to the top, 1/2 inch off the top. Terrell was the barber, didn’t ask any questions and understood what I wanted. The way he cuts your hair, you aren’t facing the mirror until the end and at that point it was too late. Basically gave me a Mohawk. I didn’t make a fuss but let him know that this wasn’t at all close to what I wanted. It wasn’t even blended. I learned my lesson- try to stick with the same barber and bring a picture if it’s a new one but Terrell was pretty bad and didn’t seem to care that he messed up/ did a poor job.

Negative experience: I never feel the need to leave review on bad service at all but I recently had the worst haircut ever and this must have been my 10+ times to Floyd's 99 on Mckinney. My usual stylist left and I got Terrell (I may misspelled his name) this time. He did not cut my side hair evenly on both side, one if patchy, one of the side cut was WAY above my ear as well. He was pretty rough that I felt a burn (red mark) on the tip of my ear. He also had a bit of attitude, which does not bother me much but please at least try to cut customer hair correctly. We are paying customers. I could have gotten a better haircut and service from training school for $10.

Fantastic experience: Floyd’s is always a good barbershop to go to but Terrell really knows what he is doing. Provided an excellent haircut but his customer service is what was special to me. He really took the time to make sure my experience was amazing! Not to mention the haircut I got was perfect.

Positive experience: I usually have a good experience at this location and most barbers are professional. I have never had an issue with any barbers except for Chemiah, who has messed up my hair twice in the last couple of years. Her attitude was also worse than any of her colleagues. If anybody is coming to this location, I would recommend asking for anyone but her.

Negative experience: First time I went here I’m pretty sure they don’t clean their clippers often since my scalp got red and partially infected after my haircut from here. I waited maybe a couple months and came back here, I waited 30 mins got to be seated then the guy told me he doesn’t feel comfortable cutting my hair . I had told the reception what I had wanted when I checked in, if that wasn’t possible I rather would have been told that before I wasted my time. Overall would never come back.
