Positive experience: It was my first time and I really liked my haircut. I have straight hair and 99% of the work was done using hair clipper, which scared me a bit, but the result was great.

Fantastic experience: Took my son here to get a haircut for back to school. I haven’t stepped foot in a barbershop in over a decade and it’s usually the last place I want to be as a woman but this place was alright and my son’s haircut was decent. He said he wants to come back to this place instead of where his dad usually takes him so from him.

Fantastic experience: This is THE BEST barber shop in DFW. They can cut any type of hair and have you looking great! I recommend going here if you're looking for a fresh haircut.

Positive experience: Jay was very professional and fast. Came in Friday afternoon and there was no wait time. I love my son’s haircut and will be coming back. 4/5 Stars due to price. Cut was $35 but other than that I would give the shop and service 5 stars. Thanks for making this a great experience for me and my son. He loves his haircut and wanted to show his hair off to everyone. Though it was pricy to see my son smile and feel confident about his cut made it worth every penny. Keep supporting this business!

They did an incredible job with my fade and cut the top of my hair at a perfect length. I will be using their services regularly.

Negative experience: FIRST time going to this barbershop First thing I noticed, was the barber shop was empty. But I figured it was because today is Sunday. I went in for a “shape up” & was charge 40.00. The barber finished faster than what I’m accustomed too, even if it was just a shape up, so I already knew something was off. When I looked at the mirror it looked like my head wasn’t even touched. I tried contact the barber before I left the shop, but didn’t get to speak to him. My call wasn’t returned until I got home. I explained to the owner that I’m a first time customer & explained to him that I was charged 40.00 for a shape up that was rushed and very unclean. I asked him about the up charge, he confirmed that’s there’s always an up charge on “Sundays”. Ok fine. I got into more details about the service I received. The owner was very unprofessional, dismissive & said things like “check my ratings & reviews”. After I sent him pics, from every angle, he then said “ You left the shop looking like that & paid for it?”, blaming me for the lack of service I received. He even tried to accuse me of tampering with my hair before taking pictures. I’m from the Caribbean, lived here in Dallas for a few years, I’ve never experienced such terrible customer service or attempted customer resolution. The owner hung up on me & ended the call with “I got a good rating bro. Check my reviews. Do what you gotta do.” I’m not for putting down a black business owner, but at some point, we have to remember to treat EVERY customer with kindness, respect & common decency. Im certain sure if I seemed to be someone “important” , it would’ve been a different outcome. This is not a shop that I would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I just moved here last Saturday and i had no idea where to find a barber. I saw Mr Js reviews Friday night on Google. Gave him a call. Walked in Saturday morning. He is officially my new barber in Dallas Texas. I appreciate his gift. Love my new haircut.

Positive experience: I contacted someone name V to make an appointment for my Husband. My Husband is bald with a beard and has been cutting and grooming himself so I thought it would be a good idea to have a professional do it for him and also give him a nice grooming experience. That is NOT what I got for $40.00. There was not service at all provided for his bald head. The trim/chop whatever you want to call it was horrible on his beard. It was uneven and VERY choppy looking. My Husband said the guy V, whom I made the appointment with over the phone was not the person who actually serviced him. My Husband stated the guy providing the service said he would make it look nicer on the next visit.....WHAT What make one so sure there will be a next visit if the best service is not provided the first time. I really wanted to give this place an awesome review but I can't do it. It's not worth the money for the quality of services provided.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a new barber due to some issues at my current barber shop. “J” cut me on a Sunday afternoon and hooked it up. I now get a weekly cut from J. 10 out of 10!!!!!

Fantastic experience: This is the place to go when you need it done right. Jamari cuts like a boss and is a master barber who will work artistry for any client, walk-up and/or regular. The ambiance of the shop itself lives up to its name. Clean, classic style, and a gigantic TV, proper. No nonsense, be respectful, and good things will happen to anyone lucky enough to be referred, or discovered this place on their own happenstance. Strong chops at Str8 Choppin!

Fantastic experience: These guys were great! I came here to cut off my locs I was growing for a few years and Jamari was really cool. Didn’t even get phased when I awkwardly pulled out a bag to keep my locs in after he chopped them off, just for keepsakes. The bald fade I got wasn’t rushed and Jamari paid a lot of attention to detail, but it also didn’t take very long. Line up was 10/10 too, def go visit these dudes at Str8 Choppin ✌

Negative experience: Not professional, was told to be at the shop at 1pm just to get there and I was told that it was 2 people ahead of me and I said ok. Waited 1-1/2 hour just to watch him take somebody that just pulled up SMH.

Fantastic experience: Today was my first time getting a cut here at Str8 Choppin. I’m from Shreveport, LA where I had a barber for 14 years so I was very picky about where I wanted to get a cut from. I called to check on price and availability which was $30 and walk-ins were ok. I drove 20 mins to get here and didn’t have much of a wait at all. The establishment was well kept and not messy or unorganized. The barber(Jay) was knowledgeable about his craft and knew how to take care of me. I got a taper and facial hair trim and I’m pleased with the results. I WILL be back. P.S. One of the biggest reasons why he got my business(and possible repeat business) is mainly because he had PICTURES OF PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS AND HIS WORK! I see soooooo many shops post pictures of their shop and craft cocktails and amenities(which is awesome! Don’t get me wrong) but the main reason I go to a barbershop is for a HAIRCUT! So I NEED to see what you can do and If you can provide the service I’m looking for. Whether it be a customer who got a taper fade and has curly, ethnic hair like me or someone who needs an even cut but has more a straight hair texture. Advertise your work and let the cocktails and extras be bonuses that separate you from the competition! I know this review was kind of long haha but hopefully it helps someone.
