Fantastic experience: Quick service, cool atmosphere reminiscent of an old-school barber shop, free beer while you wait, and a great haircut! A little pricey, but you do get what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: We got there a little late and Brandon still did an excellent job with the time given. We choose him every time. My son is the one getting the cut and he always talks to him about whatever and makes him feel comfortable. He talks to him bout what he wants done with his cut too which is great. We'll be coming back for sure.

Negative experience: Rude unpleasant staff with an insanely awkward vibe, and a horrific haircut to top it off. I went here as a backup since my normal stylist was out of town, and I genuinely feel like great clips would have been a better option. The old cigarette stank that hit me as I walked in the door was a nice touch

Fantastic experience: This was literally the best hair cut I’ve ever received. I didn’t realize barbers like this still existed. I will highly recommend to all my friends. Fast forward and I tried booking an appointment online. Website was not user friendly to me at all so I called them the dude was extremely rude about it. I just wanted to book a darn appointment man. Fantastic experience: Great experience! I dread trying out different barbers. After realizing I needed a haircut asap, I decided to give Fountain Square Barbershop a chance, and I am so happy I did. I showed Brandon a photo of a clean side part, and he did not disappoint. Brandon helped me figure out which side my hair would best be parted, and he made a few modifications to fit my face type. Brandon truly listened to what I wanted and didn't want. The blend is seamless, with clean lines. The atmosphere is retro and clean, and I am very happy with the experience. I will definitely be going back. Great vibes all around.

Fantastic experience: Barber shops in my city are more social club than barbershop, not that they don’t cut up a bit and have fun (they forsure do), but they never forget it’s a place of business first and some ppl got places to be. I can appreciate a fun chill place but overall I am there for my haircut and they recognized that when I came in. I do not write reviews but if I could give more stars I would. Also they also have stylist working in there and i have long hair that i get tapered on the side and barbers bo not like cutting my long hair so its convenient they also have stylists working. It’s actually not very common for a real barbershop like this.

Fantastic experience: Great vibe with an extremely high quality haircut. Most of the time I get fades, they are done very quickly, but my barber was meticulous and it shows. Accommodating to walk ins and new customers, and right in the center of town. I’ll definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: I’m not in Indy very often but so appreciate Matt ‘Mac’ in particular. Traffic issues kept me from showing up on time but he graciously and kindly worked me in - and gave an outstanding vintage cut. Love the traditional, historic vibe, the 50s music and awesome building and storefront, but all that is hollow unless the cut is top notch… and it is. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Called to get in on a Sunday, asked two questions and was treated like it was a bother.... told to get on website to book appointment and couldn't book ANY BARBER. not sure why you couldn't ask as your standing with other barbers. ONLY ONE BUT YOULL NEVER GET MY MONEY! BET YOUR NOT EVEN FROM FOUNTAIN SQUARE.

Negative experience: Staff is nice but 30 minutes late to start and the quality was very poor (at a high price point). Buzzed my sides and back instead of tapering and took over an inch off the top when I asked for a 1/4 inch. Genuinely one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever gotten

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved to Indy and it's been hard to find a good barber. I have longer hair which is tough for a male (especially when I have no clue what to ask for when I get my hair trimmed). I tried the Fountain Square Barber Shop and they nailed it on the first try. I have gone back multiple times and had multiple different barbers and still get the look I am hoping for with a cool vibe.

Negative experience: Rude on the phone, rude when I arrived, and a bad haircut that was not what I asked for, but I was kept from looking at the mirror till it was done

Matt's massage, fancy barber oils & tonics accompanied by a stream of Kokomo, Indy and Chicago blather. Oh yeah, the hot (and cold!) towels. Lordy! This is urban barbering at its finest. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here about 10 years now. It’s been great to see the shop expand yet the feel stay the same. Always greeted when I come in, no matter who I’m seeing. Matthew has been my guy and always get a massage, single blade, and wash as part of the service. He does a great job on lining me up and is always a great conversation. I’ve gotten my beard shaved with hot towels and felt like a king. I’ve sent family and friends and they are always well taken care of. Great job guys!

Positive experience: I had scheduled an appointment at a certain time block cuz it was the only one that was available but I arrived 30 minutes early because I was already in the area. The lady Barber that I was assigned saw that I was there early and seemed kind of annoyed cuz she was on break. Luckily John was able to take me and he did an amazing job. He took his time and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. Will definitely request him next time.

Fantastic experience: I came here earlier this morning and got a haircut from Jacob. I’m normally very anxious about haircuts and facial trims, especially my mustache. But he delivered above and beyond. He cut my hair just as I wanted, lined me up great, and restyled my beard. I trusted him with my mustache and he did not disappoint. I would recommend booking on the website, the process is super simple and you have a chance to give any details you think are necessary (and they actually read what you put down). Fantastic experience: I came in this past Saturday without an appointment to get my haircut. They were all too willing to accommodate me. This was by far the BEST experience I've ever had with getting my haircut. Matthew took care of me, and truly puts a capital P in professional. The price was good, the service was even better. I came in looking like an overgrown chia pet, and walked out clean as a whistle. My wife was very pleased with the haircut, to say the least. I've found my new home, these guys are indeed the BEST at what they do.

Fantastic experience: I should’ve written this review a long time ago. Matt(Mac) has been cutting my hair for years, and I never go to anyone else. He gives me a great cut, every time, and we always have a great conversation while I’m there. He always does his best to fit in walk ins, no matter what, but it’s best to just make an appointment. The atmosphere is perfectly old school barbershop, and takes me back to a simpler time.

Fantastic experience: A gem of a barber shop. Really neat old school vibes, and Matt R did a great job with my husband's cut and beard trim. Enjoyed stopping in here for a cut while we were in the area. My husband was able to book an appointment online that morning. It looked like around midday when we went, they were all booked up - a guy walked in looking for a cut but they didn't have any availability. The cut and beard trim came to about $50 - which I thought was a good price for a quality cut. Check this place out for sure - but probably a good idea to make an appt to ensure you get a time slot.
