Fantastic experience: I've been coming here on and off for over 10 years. Always good service and the workers have talent. You can't go wrong, here. I bring my sons here to get their hair cut. We no longer live in-state but will make appointments for when we visit family because we like the place so much.

Negative experience: Saturday night (Nov 1 2025) some guy approached me and my wife trying to promote this barber shop. Keep in mind, I’m bald and have absolutely no hair. He was telling us how Chad is in jail, putting all of his business in the streets. When I told him I have no interest because I have no hair, this man tried to fight me. Told me how he was a”real gangster “ and that he was from Haughville. He literally tried to start a fight with me because I told him I’m not interested. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go to this place. He was a short, stalky guy with a beard. Screw this place!! I wouldn’t take my son here if it was the last barber shop in the state!!!

Fantastic experience: Great place to get a haircut, the guys there are very respectful and the environment is friendly.

Negative experience: Made an appointment and paid through the app that they make you download them I get a call saying they canceled my appointment and I can only pay cash. When I bring up on the phone how I already paid and I’m not paying more it became a problem and I get hung up on

Fantastic experience: Chad's is a first rate barber shop. They work by both appointments and walk in. The quality of service is first rate. I personally recommend Bryan H. There is 19 barbers in the shop. All rated Master Barber. The cost is very reasonable.

Negative experience: This place is a circus. I went in to get a haircut after not having been there in 9 years. Figured Id go see the man Chad himself to get it done. Thought Id be in good hands given it was the owner. But not only was he not in the shop when it was time for my appointment but he was about 15 minutes late to start the cut. I didnt smell any alcohol but that dude was drunk or somethin because he kept slurring his words and talking over not only himself but myself and everyone else around. He would not stop talking to everyone and just cut my hair to save his life. Not only that he would keep tappin my shoulder consistently when he was telling me somethin that didnt make entire sense askin me “you know what I mean?” “you know what Im sayin?” The double cherries on the sundae was that he took close to an hour and a half to cut my hair and that he butchered the top pretty rough. Even after going back to “fix it” 3 times. I was so frustrated I just said its fine, got up, paid my bill, still tipped, and left. Will never be going back there again. Dude looks and acts like an unsobered Tom Arnold.

Negative experience: Made a 1pm appointment for my son and myself. Nano, cut my son's hair. He did a good job. My son likes his haircut. No problems there. My appointment was at 1 also but had to wait till 130. Not a big deal. Keddy cut my hair. Showed him a few reference photos. And told him like what Nano Hair is cut like. He shaved half way up my head before I could say anything. Lines are off even for the cut he gave me. Side are different lengths. Even some of guys who worked there noticed. I've been growing my hair for about 2 years and now have to find a barber that can fix this mess. He trimmed way to much off of my beard as well. If you come here make sure you get someone who follows directions and listens. I was told I wasn't going to be charged for him to cut my hair. I prepaid online when I booked the appointment. So I'm waiting on my money back.

Fantastic experience: Brian is awesome. Gave me exactly what i wanted In Like 10 minutes flat. All these guys are good things probably the best spot in the city for a good men’s cut. But Brian killed it for me today. Awesome job.

Negative experience: Horrible experience at this place my two boys 8 and 13 arr saying they just don't want thier haircut anymore because the length of the wait and the absolute Horrible job 2 different barbers couldn't get either kid right. Then the owner says come back but if the owner allows the bs to go on that you see in the reviews then I think he would probably let us down also.

Negative experience: DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.Horrible haircuts both my kids hair is choppy and uneven my 8 year old has no hair on one side and a lot of hair on the other side. My 13 year old has bangs in the middle of his forehead and it’s choppy and uneven let’s not forget how dirty the place is.

Fantastic experience: Been having bad experiences lately trying to find a barber since my homie passed away that use to get me right. Chad’s barbershop has a great reputation in the city, so I looked at the reviews bc I wanted to make sure the barber I went to was verified to do a good job. I went with Jake after seeing his name in a five star review. He was super cool and professional. He took his time and the cut looks great. I’ll be going back to him next time.

Fantastic experience: My cousin recommended me to this place. I was kind of skeptical about trying a new place to get my haircut(I’ve had bad haircuts for years) . Erik gave me the cut I wanted and he didn’t disappoint. He was very knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable as a first time customer. This is a friendly place and welcoming staff. You guys rock !

Positive experience: 5 stars :Jake F tell him what you want he does fire fades. 4 stars: overall, most barber are mad good but some of the barbers just play too much so I don’t book with them. I get Jake everytime. some are trying to create a fun environment and that’s great for kids but a lot of people/adults take hair cuts seriously and appreciate professionalism! Specifically one barber will cut your hair so it looks goofy in the back and it’s kinda funny for kids but not adults lol so seeing him do it to a grown man felt disrespectful ….. Negative experience: Took two hours and charged me 40$ I asked them to clean my hair up nothing crazy usually takes 15 mins given my hair is thick and I have cowlicks but I’m not exaggerating I sit in the barber chair for two whole hours 3 different barbers trying to fix the mess the first woman made nobody ever acknowledged that there was a mistake it said 17$ and I got up charged I was expecting a discount I didn’t get a apology I’m actually going to a wedding with a embarrassing haircut and I was very patient with the lady she was very nice but something should have been done to make it right they all knew she messed me up

Positive experience: I would say that with the right professional, it is a great experience. The atmosphere is very upbeat and fun. This is a very loved place by the community. I will try again, but for a first experience, I would say 3 stars do to the unprofessionalism and the choppy cut. It's probably the second worst experience as a woman going to a barber shop. I was ready to get out of the chair after a couple of mins. I hoped for the person to regain focus, but it never happened. So, it's not the shop's fault. I had my cousin fix my choppy back, and the sides are still uneven. Calibrate your clippers. The sound is a dead giveaway. Ask before just applying the aftershave. Just new client learning curves. Schedule via the app for a timely cut.

Negative experience: Just moved here, looking for a new barber. Showed different angles of the exact haircut I got from my last barber and explained how I always get it done and it’s not even close. I explained thoroughly what I wanted and asked if it was understood. I don’t even want to be seen in public. Very disappointed in my haircut

Fantastic experience: Was in Indianapolis this past weekend for my wedding. Needed a place to get a cut on the morning of my wedding and came to Chad’s off a rec from a friend. When I tell you CJ had me looking the best I’ve looked in years. It’s not always easy to work with a barber for the first time. But CJ cut my hair like I’d been into the shop before. I would trust CJ to cut my hair and trim my beard again on the morning of my wedding. If that’s not enough to say that this place is the real deal then I don’t know how else to say it.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a lot of barbers over the years. It’s hard to find the one you love and I finally found one after years of bouncing around. Chad is the best I’ve seen in long time. He’s a pro and always gives me the most consistent cut. It’s always perfect. I drive about 30 min to come here to get my haircut. Ive been cut my others when I couldn’t get in with Chad and they were great cuts as well. Best shop in town.

Negative experience: Gio should be fired. I've been coming to Chad's Babershop for nearly a decade and have never had more garbage tier service. I scheduled my appointment ahead of time on the app and Gio still canceled without warning, even though it takes me 2 hours to get there and back. -Even though I had to pay a scheduling fee to reserve the spot. Then Gio decided to prioritize his other customers instead. Chad's Babershop needs to get back on track with quality barbers that actually respect Chad and his business he's ran for over 20 years. As others have said here and everybody in town knows, some people are really dragging the place down. Recommended Barbers: Clay, CJ, Garrett, Mic, or Chad himself

Positive experience: My kids have requested Chad's for haircuts since they discovered how close we live. They're usually satisfied, however, I do suggest taking a look before you leave. A couple of times their hair wasn't blended well.

Negative experience: I’ve never had my boyfriend come home with such a bad haircut and bad experience. Now I have to fix his hair myself or pay someone else to fix it. Very upset for vacation. Never coming back here. Paid online but then had to refund and do cash only.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment with “Gio” 2 days prior for 10am for my son. Walk in around 9:45 to be told he’s running behind which can be understandable 11 o’clock rolls around and my son still hasn’t been seen , I ask for any walk ins that may be open and told to sign the tablet and wait even longer I eventually just walked out without my sons haircut idk what happened to this place but it’s went down hill been that way for some time now

Negative experience: I asked for my hair to be off the ears and collar cut in the back!! My hair was COMPLETELY SHAVED OFF Now 2 months to just get it to the point of reshaping the Damage!!!

Negative experience: Honestly this place scams people. I understand a reservation system to an extent but if that's the approach to take then have enough staff to take walk ins too. Seems to be in place to make more money, just increase your prices and be done with it, loyal customers will come either way. Or move solely to a reservation system, that's what you're doing anyway when people are waiting over 2 hours for a haircut. My husband has been going to this barber for about 2 years or so. The wait times have slowly increased, he won't return. This past time he went he waited 2.5 hours and still hadn't been called for a haircut, he got there at open. The cuts aren't bad but certainly not good enough to wait that long.

Negative experience: Walk-in wait times are insane and the barbers/staff couldn't care less. I've been getting cuts here for about a decade because its so close to home. My last several visits have been very disappointing between the wait, silent treatment from the staff, pricing, and most importantly the haircut. I'll be finding a new barbershop.

Fantastic experience: This is the best Barber Shop in Indy!! So many Good Barbers to choose from and with Chad's Moble App. to make appointments with it is so easy. Great atmosphere for all ages and very kid friendly. Don't forget CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM, incase you forget.

Negative experience: Everyone there always does a great job but we won't be going back. My BF went in there tonight, probably the 3rd or 4th visit....we are always charged $22 for a full men's haircut. Tonight he was charged $34. We had taken out enough for the haircut and tip ($30) but didn't have any extra cash (didn't think he'd need it). So I had to go back to the ATM to get the rest. I assumed it was a big price increase so I didn't want to just not pay the rest. But my BF said there was nothing on the price list for that amount. So, are the prices being raised that much or did we just get swindled by a dishonest employee? We both work really hard for what we have so this was beyond frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I love this place and it's atmosphere! I got in Skip's chair and he got my beard lined and trimmed and nailed it! I'll be back in to see him soon. Quick, fun, and professional. Everything you want out of a barbershop!

Negative experience: I hate coming here, and their new app sucks. I've never had a good haircut here and can't seem to make appointments with the new app. That's why I brought my son to 123 because at least I can get his haircut in a timely manner.

Negative experience: I have been going here for years but sadly I have to cut ties! They have messed up my boys hair twice 2 different barbers this past month and try to act like its not their fault, i was kicked out a time before that because i got their at 5:40 but they didn't want to take no more business and they are supposed to be a vet friendly place. The chads I used to know was wonderful but definitely not what it was years ago...

Positive experience: I've been coming here for years and recently it seems that most of the guys there look annoyed that they're cutting hair. Nobody talks, laughs, nothing. It's just an assembly line of haircuts. The last 2 times I've gone in, one for my son and one for myself, the guy messed up our hair. It's pretty disappointing considering how much I used to look forward to getting a haircut. I also will never have my hair cut by the "Dr" again.

Negative experience: I walked in right at opening for a haircut. I signed in and the owner called my name. He told me that I would have a good coversation with the barber cutting my hair because he speaks broken English. I showed the photos of my previous haircuts and beard trip. He did not give me the haircut or beard trim I wanted. He also charged me for an appointment. I tried to dispute it with him and he didn't understand. I won't be coming back.

Negative experience: Don’t let Demetri cut your hair. I think I could have gotten a better haircut at Great Clips. He took the minimal time to cut it and the shop wasn’t even busy. It’s one of the worst haircuts I’ve gotten in a while. I usually get pretty solid haircuts from this shop, however. It just put a sour taste in my mouth.

Negative experience: Booked with CJ 2 days in a row. He canceled the first day because he was sick which is understandable. The 2nd day I had an appointment at 130pm and I was on time for my appointment and got canceled again while I was sitting in the barbershop waiting. Then he has the audacity to tell me it was bad communication on my part because I didn't answer his text when I was on my way to the shop. I live 30 min away and I was on the highway when he tried to contact me so I was unable to answer.

Positive experience: My mustache was lopsided on my second visit and everyone noticed. Can't blame the company but overall enjoyed my first visit.

Fantastic experience: Been going to Chad's Barbershop over 10 years now. It's a South Side staple for anyone to go and get a great quality haircut no matter the style or preference. You're missing out if you haven't been to Chad's Barbershop!

Negative experience: Be very careful of whose chair you sit in at this barbershop. Just recently went in got my haircut and beard trimmed and asked for a taper on my beard It was cut all one length and missed many spots and I asked for a little trim off the top of my head and the guy cut more than two and a half inches off.

Fantastic experience: Thanks for the great experience! We were last minute walk-ins for the kids and didn't wait long at all. Fun atmosphere and smiles all around. I didn't catch the names of the barbers but whoever took the two french kids did a fantastic job! Both listened to what was requested and delivered exactly that. In hindsight, i don't feel we tipped enough so wanted to leave a 5 star review for the both of them! The boys really wanted the 'american barber' experience and (I think) are both super happy with the results! Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Ive gone to chad's for basically my whole life. I've always got a comb over, basic sure, but they always did it amazingly. Great music, staff is cool, price is worth it.

Fantastic experience: It was very streamlined. You walk in and unless you have a preferred barber who is open you type your name in on a keyboard and it will be on a screen in order of when you signed in. I went on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't all that busy. I was first in line and the barber I had was very easy to talk to and when I showed him a picture of the hair cut I wanted he absolutely nailed it. Would definitely recommend to a friend based on the experience I had.
